Love Burts Bees as they don't test on animals.
Different laws apply to United Kingdom.

The UK has strict laws about the production of cosmetic products. Manufacturers cannot sell a new product to the public before it has been safety tested. An organisation called The Cosmetic Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA) provides information about regulation of cosmetics in the UK. The CTPA abides by regulations set out by the European Community. These list substances that are banned from cosmetics. Lead is banned from all cosmetics, apart from hair dyes.

In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates the lead content in food and cosmetics. Their last survey of 400 lipsticks in 2011 found very low levels of lead. The FDA does not believe these levels are harmful.

Signed,
Thanks sweetie -x-

I have lupus and fibromyalgia, and this is one of the MANY things that some believe can cause the autoimmune system to go out of whack...

Burt's Bees stuff is about as wrong for me as a lip product can be - wrong texture, wrong taste, wrong colors, doesn't stay - but I never thought it was toxic too. Signed.

AEA Investors bought a majority share in 2004, and Clorox Co. bought them out in 2007. Does that explain how they lost their pure and natural cache?

Signed-though I don't use makeup-up, IF I were to, I would want to see one option for natural without toxins in one brand.

Some ingredients have no place in cosmetics, even small amounts because people use such products over and over again and it builds up over time.

People may wish to know, Burts Bees is owned by Clorex which tests products on animals, so whilst they don't directly their profits go to a company that does and therefore, for me, are never purchased.

Also, until the recent change is implemented, any company that sells products in China also give up their products for animal testing. They put profit before animal welfare and too should be boycotted.
