Great video, Nancy! President Eisenhower warned us about the "military-industrial-congressional complex" in his farewell address, President Carter tried to regulate it, and President Reagan was successful in stepping it up. If anyone wonders why the 99% are out there protesting --which certainly isn't the picnic that Fox News and the GOP would have you believe-- if the greed and corruption of the banks isn't enough, then look into the greed and corruption of this powerful industry. And please look into the voting record of your senators and representatives BEFORE you vote. Some of them are enablers with specific interests --and those interests have nothing to do with their constituents. Don't vote against your own best interests. Karl Rove refers to people who vote for politicians who've been bought and paid for by the 1% as "useful fools." Don't allow a corrupt corporate shill like Rove to put that label on you!

There are other companys making lots of money with the "WAR"

Halliburton is one of them and guess who has stock in it... It is CHENEY, former vp of USA.

The military budget had doubled since 2001. During the bush administration so they, the gop pukes,
could make war profits while using the US military to protect "OIL".

We all need to shout at our congresscritters about cutting the miltary budget by 50%.

Get out of Iraq, Afghanistan and reduce the bases around the world. Bring our soldiers home
and the monies. Get our jobs o n track.

Boot out any gop puke that holds amercia hostage on jobs and the economy.

TY, Nancy.

I have stood up for many things along the way of life, the Greyhounds, against Nuclear Plants, Indigeneous Rights, Womens Rights, the list goes on, but the one thing I've stood up against at age 15 and on, has been on the Wars. This is been the root of all of our ills around the world and this society, thanks Nancy for this very imporant video. This certainly does need to be seen by many.

Thank you Nancy, excellant video that should be shared all over. I doubt anyone on this thread does not do their homework before they vote, but there are millions out there who vote without checking the candidate out. The money made by these CEO's is so out of control, who could even spend 21 million in 1 year? Vote the GOP thugs out of office next time while we still have the chance. If a republiCON gets into the Oval Office, hang on, it's going to get much worse.

I detest greedy people especially those that have no compunction over choosing profit over promoting war and contributing to the deaths of thousands of innocents both those in uniform and civilian. Even though these murderers will never be held accountable for their crimes while they are alive I sincerely hope that they will be when they meet their maker.

The military-industrial complex keeps wars going due to the big profits they make from wars. They do not care about the injuries and loss of life caused by these wars.

No surprises here. They and their corporate friends, plus all the greedy repugs and DINO's in congress run this country. It's not we, the people. Democracy? NOT!

Thanks for the video Nancy and hope you will forgive my well meant intrusion? - For anyone watching the video but not venturing to the YouTube site I feel that this ought to be posted here? - It is the text from the site and a plea for you to spread this video around. If you feel as strongly about injustice as I, you WILL spread it about?

Help give your local Occupy group the tools they need to fight corporate power by sharing our new video with them and posting it on your social networks: http://warcosts.com/1percent

War industry CEOs make tens of millions of dollars a year, putting them in the top 0.01 percent of income earners in the U.S.

Northrop Grumman CEO Wes Bush made $22.84 million last year.

Lockheed Martin CEO Robert Stevens made $21.89 million.

Boeing CEO James McNerney: $19.4 million.

These guys use their corporations' massive lobbying dollars to keep their job-killing gravy train rolling. Last year, their companies spent a whopping $46 million on lobbying, corrupting our politics and ensuring that their bank accounts continue to fatten at our expense. These executives are some of the main reasons why we're wasting so much on war instead of rebuilding our own nation here at home.

Help us fight their propaganda campaign to protect their profits. Use our list to share this video with your local Occupy group and encourage them to show it at their events: http://warcosts.com/1percent

It is so disgusting that greed is what gets a person ahead, and that so many people admire it. I hope that some day the world will admire kindness more than money.

Well I'd heard that Rumsfeld had significant investment in the war machine, but not Cheney. Although it doesn't surprise me. I'd even wager that a lot more significant decision makers and influencers have a significant number of shares too, and probably many of them are Republican, but that is sheer speculation on my part. There is a reason that the Republicans during the Vietnam War were referred to as hawks and this is probably part of it. So these are some of the so called 'jobs creators' and the types of jobs they create --- build weapons etc to promote war and then send in American troops, legally or not, to die as 'fodder' for your war machine profits. Time to add the 60-70's mantra "Ain't gonna study war no more!" to the 2011 mantra.
As Susanne said ". . . please look into the voting record of your senators and representatives BEFORE you vote. Some of them are enablers with specific interests --and those interests have nothing to do with their constituents . . ."
I agree with all of you.

Drat - so many times I tried to send stars but I couldn't as I already had this week - thanks Nancy, Dandelion G, Susanne R, etc etc etc! Susanne R's advice is so very good - these days we can check up on websites that our representatives are doing what they said they would and voting with what they originally said - there is no excuse for not checking these guys out. Over here in the UK I check up on my MP quite often - and amazingly when I have done so, there he is, keeping to his word(!) - something of a relief! In the past we couldn't do this but now we have no excuse for electing a rampant liar and hypocrite - lets get rid of these blighters!
