With billions of pounds needed to help tackle poverty and climate change, we think it's fair to ask bankers and traders to pay a little more.

Robin Hood was right! We need LOTS of Robin Hoods - with or without the Guy Fawkes masks - to correct our current economic injustice.

I think lots of us knew about the Robin Hood Tax in general, but I hope everyone reads the section below the oetition that is an update on how the fight is going:

Getting a decent tax

In May, leaders of 11 European countries secured a historic agreement on a first stage of a Robin Hood Tax.

Since then, they have been in negotiations over how strong they want the tax to be which will determine how much money it could raise.

But with three weeks until governments announce the final design of the European Robin Hood Tax, the proposal is under attack from a financial sector desperate to see it watered down.

The same banks that caused the financial crisis are putting up a tough fight against the reforms - pushing for weak tax rates and demanding exemptions.
Time is running out

We need to keep the pressure on decision-makers to stay strong.

So far, 790,000 voices have called for the introduction of a strong Robin Hood Tax that delivers for people and planet.

Help us reach a million voices demanding European leaders stand up to the banks.

Signed. Thanks Nancy.

The money has to come from somewhere.
Why shouldn't it come from, people are have so many loopholes in the tax system, that they pay less of a percentage than the average American?

What is wrong with the Teapublican Comedy Club followers, that they think people like Mitt Romney should only pay 7% in taxes?
Our tax system was written by the wealthy, for the wealthy, and they don't care if they screw everyone else.
These people have gone to the DARK SIDE.

Signed. And, I quote Nelson Mandela:
"Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings..."
