Skinned Alive to Make Fake Uggs: Horrific Footage Reveals Slow, Sickening Deaths of Raccoon Dogs

Animals  (tags: racoon dogs, skinned alive, animaladvocates, killing, abuse, suffering )

- 2012 days ago -
Thousands of unsuspecting Britons may be buying imitation Ugg boots made from the pelts of animals skinned alive. The fur comes from raccoon dogs, a species related to domestic dogs, farmed in China.

" other companies in Australia, where the popular boots are made, are using raccoon dog fur farmed in China and labelling it ‘Australian sheepskin’. "

I've seen pics+footage of this horror and i could barely eat 4 weeks. I was so horrified that i lost 15 pounds during this time...those images will be forever embedded in my brain. The same horrors are seen with dogs+cats. It numbs the heart. Thx Judy

We must stop anyone, anywhere buying this stuff - the animal suffering is just too hard to bear!

I always cry when I see images like these. It is just too awful to comprehend, but is happening on a massive scale in South East Asia. They have no compassion for the animals in the collection places for these animals.

I am not talking about Asians who are pet lovers and compassionate (there are many of them), but those Asians who have no moral compass and who engage in the most depraved and illegal trades for a little bit of money and bling. It is just sickening to me!

I found myself just Sunday asking a woman in a store, what fur was on the coat she was wearing ( I knew it wasn't fleece). She wasn't defensive (lucky for me) and looked and said it was lamb's wool (it was the collar/lapel).
I think I had "uggs" in my self conscious. I don't shop much, when I do I look at all the fur imitation stuff and can't help wondering, if it's cat, dog, or something else- now i'll think badger.
I am so sick of this "global trade abuses"

The article asks people to write to:

His Excellency Ambassador Liu Xiaoming

Chinese Ambassador to the UK

Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the UK

49 Portland Place

London, W1B 1JL

I am currently travelling in South East Asia (Thailand) and when I tried to search for an email on the Chinese Ambassador, I was immediately flagged... and my google search redirected to a Thai site wanting to know what I was doing... and was I doing anything illegal... so I abandoned the search.
This sort of thing is highly prevalent and hidden from view out here... please, please do write your concerns to the Ambassador, start or sign petitions against all the animal trades out here (they are all barbaric) and they are feeding a public in Britain, Europe and the Americas who want cheap goods. They are not cheap - the price paid is a "life!"

I have become a vegetarian, I will no longer buy leather shoes and have no desire to buy any other sort of animal skin - they belong on the animal! I'm so angry about this!

Thank you Col N. for this information and please take care,
Cannot send a star because already did!
Thank you Judy, too. There was another place I saw something on Care2 recently about faux uggs. I've never wanted a pair, but they are popular, and the imitations!

Thanks Judy for providing the link to the horrifying but informative article by Ms. Warren and Mr. Pickup. Read and angrily noted.
The authors ask that we write to this address to protest:
His Excellency Ambassador Liu Xiaoming
Chinese Ambassador to the UK
Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the UK
49 Portland Place
London, W1B 1JL
I will try to find the email or snail mail addy for embassy here in the US and register my protest that way.

When will the cruelity ever stop? This kind mindless attitude of humans that they have the right to destroy animals and our enviroment makes me sick.Let us at Care2 continue to do whatever we can and hope that somewhere along at least a few get the message.

Ugg is ugly anyway, I sure wouldn't want to wear it, What I really want to do is skin alive those despicable things masquerading as humans and see how they would like it!

Boycott China. Boycott Chines shoes/slippers/boots. China is the biggest manufacturer/exporter of shoes in the world. Workers are abused. And helpless animals are killed for faux "fur". Going to find the closest Chinese embassy and call about this.
