Promises of development and progress have failed to materialize for indigenous groups around the world. Includes video of members of Amazon tribe, reclaiming their land from illegal loggers.

Time to stop Business as Usual. Did you see that the rates of suicide (fast with guns or slow with drugs) are going up for white, adult Americans?

This is really genocide on these indigenous groups, and it should have been stopped long ago. Who knows what knowledge is being lost because of this?

I did see that, Anne.

"— attempts to "civilize" indigenous populations have, instead, threatened their very survival."
"Forcing development on tribal peoples never brings a longer, happier life," the report states, "but a shorter, bleaker existence only escaped in death."
History certainly repeats itself! This is Heart breaking. Thank you Judy.
"WHAT KIND OF NEIGHBOR STEALS SOMEONE'S LAND???"

I think that it takes ruthlessness, a sense of entitlement, greed, and contempt for other ethnicities and cultures in order to steal one's neighbor's land, SuSanne.

'It is an ongoing nightmare.'

And yes it is. The murder of the North American Indians was for the same reason, greed, to get the land and what was on the land and under the land. Same holds true for the First Nation people's of Australia and now the oil companies are moving into Africa big time. Be it for palm oil, lumber, cattle grazing, the people who live WITH the land are considered expendable. It they don't run off then shoot them, poison their water, but get rid of them however one can.

And once these people are gone........they will come for the rest of the people. Already in the USA there are areas that in the past were left untouched, but now, are being fracked, protective regulations ignored or is voted to be removed.

This is the suicide of the planet.......some are just facing it sooner than others.

The human race best get a clue, that this machine never stops, until the last of the wealthy are dying of the bed of gold they made.

There's mass global genocide now. Perpetrated by the 1% of super-rich who rule the planet. If you do use common sense, and can be cold-hearted about it for a minute--Earth can be seen as a critically damaged, over-crowded ship. No chance of all surviving if you don't reduce the number of passengers. The captain and his elite crew must decide who's to be thrown overboard. They will choose all who are the opposite of what and who they are. If natural disasters don't toss them overboard, they must unleash all manner of unnatural "accidents" and events upon them. That will leave the precious and rapidly disappearing resources to the elite and a few drones, buying time to find a way to solve their predicament. If they fail, they sink, after eating each other.
