You Call This a Democracy?

"If voting changed anything, they would abolish it." - Ken Livingstone, former Lord Mayor of London. This man is priceless, he tells it like it is and the visual to this is right on. This is about the UK but I can relate living in the USA.

After watching the video, I know now why people are fighting in the streets....We are in such a Sad State of Affairs right now -- I feel for all of those children that are young and being born, and happy I am OLD and actually know what it was like feel "Sort" of safe and feel like I was "Free"...No hope for those born today!

Bet, the DRUG Companies LOVE all of this happening, cause it is causing Depression - not only in the Land, but in the Head! Police the Drug Companies!

The Brit's are in the same boat as we are. So what else is new we might say, but it's important to know that we have even more reason to fight back and more people in the world who understand how we feel. We should keep each other informed, now that we have the internet, on what we learn that's successful and what's not. We really are a world family. It's too bad the wealthy humans have decided to make subjects of the less wealthy across the world. Humans have not learned much over the eons, have they. Here we are back to the fall of successful societies. Hello Roman Empire meet American Democracy!

Sheryl G (359)
Tuesday August 16, 2011, 1:19 pm
This is true Caitlin, as long as we have contact with each other via the internet, phone, or even snail mail, we need to share stategies that work. It's sad that so many are in same boat and it is all manmade, it didn't have to be this way. It is never a good time to live when a society is on it's way down, like the Roman Empire, and I never wanted to live in certain times let alone experience them, but here we are. Is why I do what I can, try to turn it around. One must try. At least I can look myself in the face and know I did something to not have it go all to hell.

Glad you posted it, Sheryl. I think everyone should realize that the problems we are experiencing here in the U.S. are also being experienced in other countries. The "New World Order" has begun. It is really sad, and I hope that more people will take this pledge ... "not on my watch". Not a "party" affiliated organization ... this is an organization that merely wants to help see a government of, by, and for the people once again. Please check them out.

Thanks Deb. He spoke clearly and the visuals were perfect as well. Seems we haven't pulled as far from the UK as we thought. The Elites are playing the same game all over the world, as Camila said, there are only a few of them that control the whole thing around the world. I think I recall reading one time there was about 1,000 people that controled the world.....that isn't many when one thinks about it. Out of that 1,000 there is the pecking order there too.

Voices of plain truth are refreshing.
Truth can be repeated, never gets boring and always reveals the same facts regardless of the source.
There is nowhere to run, we are on 'killing ground' (military term for a position of no surrender, no survival other than victory).
Time to fight, show them what Americans are made of.
Cowards die a thousand deaths as we are experiencing these for the last 40 years.
Only our numbers are superior, we must fill the streets and stop the revenue to the big corporations.
Buy local from local producers whenever possible AND buy from those producers (of food, shelter and clothing) who support people over corporatons. Every purchase is a bullet in our war against the corporate dictators.
Buy Citgo gas (from Venezuela)
Buy from local farmers and learn to 'can' your own produce.
Grow a garden of your own where possible.
Buy used cars, let the new ones sit on the sales lot.
Buy anything used you are comfortabe with; tires, clothes & appliances.
Celebrate Orthodox Coptic Christmas, on Jan 7 (12 days after commercial Christmas), everything is on sale and your Christmas will be alot cheaper.
Fight them financially every day.
This is their vulnerable spot.

Cheers Dandelion...

I have to say, I really like Nabil Shaban, he is a well known actor over here in the UK, having worked in films, the theatre and Doctor Who. He is also well known for his really good work for people with disabilities. He is quite the revolutionary!!

Yes, he is bloody right... no bloody change... it is bloody worse!! And it has become bloody too!!

One of Nabil's quotes:

I believe in no one...not even in myself. And I don't want to believe. I want to know. Sadly, The Truth is never Out There. So, Trust No One. All Government Lies...and so does the Media because the Media is owned by the Ruling Elite, which always the Government, no matter how you vote....because, lets face it, if voting changed anything, it would be abolished.

Call this a democracy??? Leave it owt!!! Let's have a revolution!!

Thanks Wooddragon, you were the exact person I was thinking of when I posted this. How much your own Community suffers, and now after the Theives have run off with all the money by virtue of the Bankers and The Corporations the Government takes this loss out of the hides of the poor and the working poor. Good for him to speak out, and all the voices famous or not need to do the same thing, I knew I recognized his face and I couldn't place it, how did I know his face, Dr. Who.....thanks for letting me know. We love your Brits humour over here incase you didn't know it. Lots of fans over here.....Are You Being Served was one of my families favorites too, and don't get me going with Monty Python.

Will be passing around Dandelion. THANK YOU~ as well as Just Carole too. I don't feel the need to add my opinions as I think the video stated exactly what is going on. In England~ the States~ all over the globe. It sickens me thinking of George W. and Tony Blair during their little Love Fest after 9/ll {although that is not the quote I said to my friend in England every week while we discussed what was sure to come during the upcoming decade}.
I have heard many whom have given up and won't vote. The problem is they feel defeated and don't feel anything can make a change anymore. I constantly share each bit of news I have read and watched here on C2. TRYING to make a difference in my small way.

Tania, we are happy to have you in our C2 family as well as our Earth family and you are always connected to me in my Spiritual family. Many of us have hearts that are sad, all around us we see the pain of a world in it's craziness. For some they do well if they keep their eyes shut to what is destroyed in their doing well. I am heartbroken by it all myself, but I reach into my Spiritual strength and do what I can in my humble way to add to try to bring forth some light. Remember, it doesn't take but a small flame to lighten a darkened room, so we must all keep our lights burning from within. If we can help each other keep going by meeting on C2 then it is good.

Well those are many good banners we could carry isn't it Angelika. I Trust the people and their creative talents once unleashed. That is stiffled in a society where everyone is kept in fear and running on the rat race tread mill.

Thanks Dandelion, and with all that suffering, the government are still not listening to the people.

All I conclude is, they will never ever listen to us and so, it is up to us all to make the change. Make the changes in your communities, as John said buy locally, go to allotments to get your produce (there isnít any local farms where I live), set up a skills bartering system within the community, find out the needs of the local community and try to address them by finding ways of bringing these services to the local people . I would be really interested in other ideas how we can help our communities please? The reason being, I and others are trying to address some of these issues in my local area. I am just finding about how we can get funding for services and projects to help the community. So, I would love to hear from anyone who has achieved these issues.

There is one thing though... I don't know how we can address; what about when you are sick or ill? How would you combat that one? The CRAPorations have the monopoly on the pharmaceuticals... or do they? Anyone?

Ps; I love Doctor Who and Monty Python too... Oooo, that rhymes too:0)

Well, many don't have medical care over here. I've held the bottle of booze while someone else stitched, pouring it over the wound or letting the person have a drink when they ask. But I don't suppose Washington cares to hear about such stories.

People die here, 55,000 per year simply as they do not have medical care. Life expectancy on the some of the Rez's is the same as Haiti. People go into bankrupcy here, the #1 reason. Isn't pretty, hasn't been, but even on C2, people fight having a type of Universal Health Care program.

Now with the Elites sucking us dry, it will be a hard pressed item to ever get. Obama gave States the right to opt out of his plan, so our Tea Bag Governor certainly jumped on that one, as well as cutting back the amount of weeks one can collect unemployment, as well as other penalizing programs just for simply being poor.

Oh and he is privatizing the prisons, which offer NO parole, so I guess it will be either homeless in the woods with the snakes and gators or in prison if one can't find a job, and as we are one of the States with the higher numbers in the Country for the unemployed it's a good chance you won't have a job......great choices.

Oh and if you ask for help, and on some chance that you can meet all the criterea and jump through the many hoops and are made to feel like a worm or lower for having fallen on hard times, if they give you so much as a dollar then you have to be drug tested, at your own expense. Which this Governor enacted, the drug testing so HE gets rich as he was CEO of the places that do the drug testing. Conflict of interest? He doesn't thnk so as he put everything over into his wife's name, I'm sure she won't share. Give me a break.

I've been saying just what this man is, for a long time. It seems that most will assume it will take care of itself, but I don't think so. These same people are more like robots than human, stuck in the same groove, over and over and over.

For those, like myself, who do not know Shaban Nabil you may want to read about him here:

I really liked the video, what he says is quite correct, according to my own experience. I was just not too happy about the end remark where he says that we need a socialist revolution. He contradicts himself with such a statement. All though the video he argues against dualism, the either/or trap, indeed, since both are false. But then he falls into it by making us choose between a capitalist revolution OR a socialist one, and he chooses the latter. In my opinion, both revolutions are not useful for society and nature. Both are structures meant for the elite's domination. Both ideologies exploited people and the environment for the greed of money. Thus, we must dismiss both and take a new and fresh look at reality: find, develop, and choose ďa third way.Ē I believe that was the case in Egypt. It was the peoplesí way.

I live in Greece, the birthplace of democracy... Sadly, this has been chosen to suffer most from the financial crisis. And, believe me, life is getting worse every day. Yet, I believe that what is more worrying, is the moral crisis, which - in the era of globalization - is to be found everywhere. As to the meaning of democracy, we seem to forget that it is not the end of the road, but the beginning. If we are not whole entities, then the majority of us will very democratically elect not the best but the worst who will make the worst decisions and not allow talented and moral persons take action.

Thanks for what you wrote Danelion... it is truly awful what you and many people have to experience because the US government lack any care for their own people's health. Do you think this is what is meant in the sentence... the home of the brave? Because that is what you have to be in order to survive. At the moment in the UK we do have the NHS. But, I have to tell you, the conservative government would love to dismantle it and introduce a similar system to the US.

With the US government reducing the SS, while spending trillions on defence, just seems to be punishing the poor and the workers for the governmentís huge defence spending. This can only lead to more poverty, inequality, unemployment and the possibility to some kind of rebellion. Maybe even something similar to what happened over here in the UK.

It is bloody time equality ruled!

Sheryl G (359)
Thursday August 18, 2011, 8:48 pm
I wrote what I did Wooddragon to give you a basic idea, fight fight fight for keeping what you have in the UK for medical care. You do NOT want the same type of system that we have in the USA and don't let anyone in the UK try to convince you what a great idea it is. Yes, guess that is why we must be brave, courage, to get through life without medical attention.

It is hard enough to learn you have cancer, it is worse to know you have cancer without medical care. With attention one might have a chance at a longer life, but with no medical attention it becomes a death sentence. Many times people spend their final days with their families begging for help to try to save their lives, they are having to do bake sales, walk-a-thons, try to get on a local radio channel and explain they have cancer and have no money or health insurance to pay for it. Can you imagine being sick and having to run around and beg for money to try and save your life? Can you imagine how stressful that is on those who love you also having to spend their every moment trying to get up as much money as they can to try to save your life?

No, don't loose what you have, you don't want this system. People are rising up over here Wooddragon. It is a big Country and we are very diverse so things are slow to get going sometimes. However when the lion gets going, awakens, it usually starts to roar and that is what I'm counting on. I've seen it before in this Country so I hope I'll see it again.

this video of the current political situation in the uk has the usa written all over it -- the dems and reps in this wonderful country of ours are two sides of the same coin -- and that coin is in the pocket of the special interest groups headed by ... you got it -- the head honchos who are running the show -- the billionaires and millionaires -- the ceos and other top management of the large corporations -- big banks, big oil, king coal, big insurance, big communication, big information, big this, big that -- the corporations that are "too big to fail" -- the same corporations our government "bailed out", when they sank our economy -- let's hear it for "change"!
