"CLGC’s memo proposes that the ABA pay CLGC $850,000 to conduct “opposition research” on Occupy Wall Street in order to construct “negative narratives” about the protests and allied politicians. The memo also asserts that Democratic victories in 2012 would be detrimental for Wall Street and targets specific races in which it says Wall Street would benefit by electing Republicans instead."

This campaign has already been underway for a while now it seems. The media repeats stories claiming that the Occupations are all homeless people, drug users and rapists, that the message is lost, and they no longer represent the original ideas, etc. These stories are posted online, and there are many commenters who simply repeat the talking points. I am convinced that most of them are paid by these organizations who job it is to discredit the movement to go online, repeat the slurs, and try to build the public perception that the OWS movement has no popular support.

I am encouraged by the fact that people are not buying into the BS. It is also having the effect of isolating the corporate media machine more and more. The campaign is doing more to discredit and de-legitimize the MSM than the Occupy movement.

I'm just glad Victoria that there are insiders now pushing out things to the press and that there is SOME press that is actually printing it and putting it out there.

Wonder how ol' Sieg Heil Hannity and Pappa Bear O'Reilly would spin this memo.....we will never know probably...that would involve (gasp) the truth and (deeper gasp) facts which are on paper for everyone to see. Wish more media outlets would pick this up and run with it but we all know that's not going to happen either.

The natives have awakened and the natives are... restless. About time!

You cannot currently send a star to Dandelion because you have done so within the last week.

I believe that many more American's are hip to the bully's and their underhanded tactics. This movement is opening the door to many important issues being made public and it will only get better.

Even whistle blowers,. which even Obama put on a back burner, will be benefiting from this Occupy Movement and forthcoming with vital info. Thanks Dandelion.

Their days are over. Period.
The transparency afforded by technology makes it a clear choice for all with eyes to see, what to do nrxt.

Back again, had to step out, The media keeps labeling OWS....Iit is described as having no political representation or desire for one. They really miss this part. I feel a more accurate interpretation is , that it's an individual call to higher consciousness where we become more aware of our actions, and as a result the actions around us.They, and i mean all of them, are acting foolishly because you can't label or propagate individual consciousness. They think they are attacking a party but they are insulting individuals in trying. They are blind without money to guide them to their target. The target can't be touched with money.

The media is the townsfolk , the Government 1% are the emperor.... you know who we are!

Remember this story by Hans Christian Anderson...

Many years ago there lived an emperor who cared only about his clothes and about showing them off. One day he heard from two swindlers that they could make the finest suit of clothes from the most beautiful cloth. This cloth, they said, also had the special capability that it was invisible to anyone who was either stupid or not fit for his position.

Being a bit nervous about whether he himself would be able to see the cloth, the emperor first sent two of his trusted men to see it. Of course, neither would admit that they could not see the cloth and so praised it. All the townspeople had also heard of the cloth and were interested to learn how stupid their neighbors were.

The emperor then allowed himself to be dressed in the clothes for a procession through town, never admitting that he was too unfit and stupid to see what he was wearing. For he was afraid that the other people would think that he was stupid.

Of course, all the townspeople wildly praised the magnificent clothes of the emperor, afraid to admit that they could not see them, until a small child said:

"But he has nothing on"!

This was whispered from person to person until everyone in the crowd was shouting that the emperor had nothing on. The emperor heard it and felt that they were correct, but held his head high and finished the procession.

Sorry Kenny no stars left for you this week, but love the rant, comment.

And Sheryl the week is not up for you yet ether thanks for posting.

Kudos to Chris Hayes, for pulling the scab off and shinning the light into the dark pit of treason for sale or rent. One of the few true Journalists still willing and allowed to do their job, report factual news they dig up or lance out, as the case may be. We need more. We also need a lot more whistle blowing Patriots to stand up and let us know what the pus brained are really up to behind closed doors, in their aligned concerted efforts to bury democracy after they’ve succeeded in killing it.

What they can’t deal with is an idea, a populist movement whose time has come, hopefully in the nick of time, that harkens back to a long held and nearly lost principals. "This nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that a government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." Gettysburg Address.

I'll be willing to bet Democracy Now's Amy Goodman and Thom Hartman will hook up with Chris and have some follow-up on Mondays shows on FSTV and their radio broadcasts.

The coordinated move against OWS has been in operation already for awhile. This memo is just a small piece of what is going on already, in a war that is being waged by corporations against the people.

Violence and intimidation was used along with overwhelming force to 'clean' out camps and take down tents, along with thousands of arrests. This happened in many cities all over the US, more or less all at the same time. That takes coordination and planning.

The media has consistently attacked, minimized, or spun OWS, and this will continue on corporate owned stations with 1% mouthpieces.

All violence will be magnified into huge and threatening terrorist activities, thus making anyone associated with OWS tainted or 'impure'. Many watching mass media for all of their 'news' will think there nothing positive with OWS.

I am personally associating more with the Rebuild The Dream movement and the structure that is there, which is much more sustainable and harder to attack. It does not need to occupy anywhere to win.

It's really amazing at just how stupid these folks are. No one wants to do away with these institutions, just the excesses that make it difficult to survive and thrive for the others, there is more than enough to go around, but insisting on having your cake and eating it too will cause their souffle to collapse.

Nick, you are correct, as the scum is brought to light more people need to be aware of it. Not trying to get any pats on the back or whatever, I, along with others, bring what we find to light and share, knowledge is power. So pass the information along, on C2 and off C2, the more who know the better. As it is grassroots, knowledge many times has to be passed even if it's one person at a time to the other, but one person can do a multiplies and branches out.

I am also a member of the ReBuild A Dream Movement Green Road; and I believe that all these various groups are important. OWS isn't the be all and end all, it is part of a whole, the whole human condition. We need the various groups, we can't all be in all places at the same time, each has their purpose to fulfill, but we are all in agreement with many things, a new direction for this Country must begin. And those groups need to be in the supportive moves of each other and when mass numbers are needed they need to cover for each other.

We have some major issues that are affected from our foods that are not tainted with chemicals or altered, medical care, living wages, affordable housing, educational opportunities, broken systems of all kinds economic and electoral to name two, protection of our environment, better treatment of animals, a better relationship with other Countries and peoples around this world, we need to get off of a war economy and onto a peaceful one....and there is more to this list.

It's been a major war upon us and our world in one form or another and it needs to stop and be turned around, no one group or activity will do it, all hands must be on deck and those hands must be doing various things, everyone can't be in the pilot house someone has to deal with the anchor, lifeboats, engines, the pumping system, and some have to make sure the others have food and water while they do the other things. There are many needs and many places to be filled, we all have various talents and abilities there is a place for us all, but everyone must do something, this is going to be a long hard road, we didn't get into this mess overnight.

Thankful that we have MSNBC and Chris Hayes. He is another intelligent addition there and will only get better. Now that the rats have been outed, let's see how fast they retreat and try and reword what that email said. Several stars I cannot send yet (and yes, I wish Care2 would change their position on sending stars).

Newt: There is no 99%.

Cain: Get a job.

Boehner spokesperson: We are shills for Wall Street.

These recent comments suggest one of twp things: At least one of the three is lying or at least one of the three is scared of the 99%. Or, it could mean both.

The thing that one has to admire about America is that they have a policy made for everything. I am sure they have a policy made out for in case Africa attacks the US. Now that the people have risen they want to somehow discredit and disinfranchise this movement as well perhaps in hopes that it may collapse. It certainly does't look good with the elections coming. IN this case the government is still stupidly employging the same tactics they used to discredit the muslims before they went to Iraq and wanted to get the American tax dollars behind them. I hope Americans dont fall for the same trick twice.

The shady activities of those trying to discredit Occupy Wall Street makes them look bad, and may actually make a good point in favor of Occupy. The protesters don't have to skulk around paying people to make up smear stories. Like one protester said, "you can't repeal reality".
