Change The Presidential Debates - Petition

Most Americans have no idea that the official sounding Commission on Presidential Debates is in reality a private organization created by the Republican and Democrat Parties and funded by special interests whose goal is to protect the status quo.

Interestingly, the leader's debates over here in the UK showed that the smaller parties made much more sense and had better policies than the two main parties.

They denied Jill Stein last election, and thus contributed to the hell we are seeing of war, corporate control of everything, corruption unleashed, even the insane Supreme court , which has in the further past tempered their decisions to consideratino of the public, but is now unrestrained as corrupt excrescences like Clarence Thomas are allowed to remain,

So long as these debates are limited to the competing two corporate parties, it will only get worse for the whole earth.

I have mixed feelings here. Michael M, do you not realize that, had Jill Stein been included in the debates, any effect she would have had would have contributed towards electing Romney? Frankly, I never want to see anything like that happen again. If we had an informed electorate of people who were actually prepared to vote their consciences - or if we had a runoff - or if we had a system where third or fourth parties with substantial number of votes could thereby earn a voice in government - if we had a system where someone who was on the Presidential ballot in some states would have to be on the ballot in all states - but we don't. We have this winner-takes-all system instead. Therefore the President will be from one of the two major parties. Therefore I want to have at least a fighting chance of getting the less evil party into office. Maybe abolishing the debates would be the best option, but I'm not even sure of that.

The thing is Joanne, 3rd Parties are not afraid to go outside of the "canned" conversation that the two Parties are in. We hear the same crap over and over and no real debate. At least 3rd Parties bring up topics! People might in fact begin to question things or expect MORE of the two main Parties we are always stuck with.

I think we should have a parliamentary system as well, in that I agree upon. But, having 3rd Parties debate is not anything new, we use to have them in debates right up until 1992. Remember Ross Perot and him warning us on NAFTA.
The Giant Sucking Sound As Our Jobs Leave The USA

Well, the people still went ahead and voted for one of the two major Parties, unfortunately. So I really don't think you have much to worry on Joanne, the American people don't seem to understand what it means to be by the statement "in their best interest."

The U.S. remains the only major modern democracy in which two parties completely dominate. I think we have a few areas we need to catch up on, not just in having Universal Health Care.

I'll keep saying it over and over again and one day I hope that a fine man like Ralph Nader and an equally great native woman, Winona LaDuke will stopped being bashed. Think of the environmental push and the consumer protections we might of had today had people voted for them.

In any case it wasn't their ticket it was the thievery here in Florida that lost Gore the election. If you recall it all was done to the count in Florida, and after all was said and done Bush won by 537 votes. However, the count in this county that I live in had missing 16,000 votes that belonged to Gore. Meaning when the woman who did that job pulled up the tabulation off the machine, when it went electronic, it read -16,000 votes. That is correct minus.

Had those votes been in the plus, which they should of been, that would of covered the 537 votes. When she brought it to the attention, while they were still counting hanging chads and so forth in Miami/Dade County it is then when a big rush came on to finish this election and with the Republicans holding the fort with brother Bush as Governor it went to his brother.

Please place the blame where it lies. Rigged machines that were bought by the Republicans who had an "in" on the firm that supplied them, the failure to hold off election results until all the counts were figured out, like the minus 16,000 votes to Gore. I am still asking where is my vote - I lived here then - I know that Gore was most popular here in this County. If you don't believe me watch Hacking free online.
