Syrian town of Madaya cut off from the outside world including its access to food in July. By January residents had been reduced to eating grass and insects, they had already eaten all the cats and dogs.

Not long after I joined C2 I was helping a member to push a petition to Stop War in Iraq. He and I struggled to get signatures on that petition, after a year, he turned in what he had.

Yet in only a matter of a week, the same number of signatures he was looking for flew onto a petition for saving coyotes. Now I love animals but I still don't understand why the petitions for things like wars, nuclear and so many others issue receive so little attention. Radiation kills animals just check out the story I posted on Fukushima.
Fukushima in Photos

As I've been saying for years......War kills not only people but animals too. So please pay attention and give some time also to the political stories and petitions as well, because animals suffer because of other ways than what falls only under the animal heading.

This story is exactly what I've been speaking about for years. And shame on the American people and the other Countries or people who can't let these people into the safety of their Nations. Stick Trump and the others over there who are saying no to these Refugees. Then let me here how quickly they'd be begging for some Nation to open it's doors for them to be able to raise their children, have a meal, and a place to simply lay their head without fear of bombs dropping.

Just look at that poor child from Madaya, Syria. Maybe these Candidates should have protestors show up at their rallies with this child on signs, let them look at this child and shout keep out the Refugees. Shame on them all.

It is sad, but the people of the world need to start getting really fed up with this and demand better by all of our leadership around the world. I'm so upset with this, it's beyond sad, it's horrible, and it's man made it does not have to be this way.

It is heartbreaking to see so many hungry people and so many distress around them. I wonder they can drop bombs and what about dropping a food instead...

YES i know exactly what you're saying Dande, i've seen it over & over again here on C2 & every time i see it, it doesn't fail to disgust. There's too many people jumping at the chance to sign for animals but humanitarian & environmental petitions are ignored.
i do not understand, this is NOT compassion, they have zero EMPATHY, it's SPECIESISM to choose to help certain types of living beings & ignore others, do they forget they are human?
Maybe they will pay attention now that all the dogs & cats have been eaten!
Mother Earth, humans & animals are all living beings!!!

Madaya: Aid convoy reaches besieged, starving Syrian town!

Nowhere near enough, but more will hopefully be sent!

Where are all the wealthy?????

You are so right Dandelion. I am often ashamed to be an American and even more to be a member of the human race. We have failed this world and all creatures on it!

The next step would be cannibalism when the dead would be eaten .The human instinct to survive atrophies compassion and morality..We cannot judge those who driven to the point of madness by starvation. But we can judge those who caused this terrible situation. They are the curse on the human race.A pox on all their houses

Completely agree with your sentiment about war, Dandelion.

There is actually little point in signing every petition on the planet on the plight of animals, if they suffering, abuse and neglect has been caused by any form of war.

War is the disease of humankind that needs to be stopped.

We have to stop the 1% manipulating us and raging wars all over the planet, bringing misery to so many people while they enjoy their lives. Nobody should have to suffer like these people.
AniMae C. says it all. Where is compassion, especially where is compassion here on Care2?

None of the current power possessors in any country deserve any kind of holiday, when war is being perpetuated.

Noted. Thanks, Dandelion.
I really liked Monika's above comment about dropping food instead of bombs. The U.S. would certainly gain more "hearts and minds" that way. Of course, the MIC would see their stock shares lower, and corrupt the media to go back to bombs. But, until the day I die I am determined to reduce military and Corporate war spending.

This is sadder than sad. People shouldn't be driven to such desperation that they have to tuck in their pets in order to survive. In desperate times, people will eat anything - including each other. I would not be surprised, though I would certainly be horrified, if some people in Madaya have resorted to cannibalism.

I agree with every word said. How many more time do we need to see suffering in this world and do nothing. How many petitions do we sign and the world leaders never listen to the people.

I read this will a sad and sickened heart. It is hard to imagine the desperation these people are suffering.
