I know some readers eyes and ears glaze over when it comes to economic articles and offerings. Whether an expert or not so much the video will explain in a way you will understand. Is worth watching and knowing this. Be prepared as best you can.

Thanks Dandelion for your continuing efforts to educate us all on issues affecting us to help us understand things that may appear more complex than they are.

Noted. Thanks for posting, Dandelion.

I flunked Economics class in high school and have struggled to understand what's going on. I really appreciated the way it was explained in this video. I felt my anger level rise as I listened to Nomi Prins explanation in the 2nd half.
At least there was an explanation here that stated it was Janet Yellen of The Fed raising the interest rate a quarter point which triggered the market's fall. No blame to China, as all the "financial networks" are placing the blame there. Glad to hear that for a change.
So, the Banksters and oil companies literally have us over a barrel (of oil). The derivatives market, which was not sufficiently addressed in the Dodd-Frank bill, is full of fraud. And, Dodd-Frank was barely a band-aid. Since no banksters were prosecuted, and the amounts of money they were penalized were "chicken-feed".....the bubble is back and we are facing something even worse than what happened 8 years ago at the end of the Bush Admin.

I don't know if it's possible for Pres. Obama to finally get serious about charging some of these people with federal crimes, but I don't see it happening. However, Fri. the stock market closed up and nearly recovered what had been lost during the week. You can almost see the manipulation happening. It absolutely makes me sick and really angry. Am going to watch this video again for better understanding.

I love the Mox Kaiser reports. We need a brand new way of transportation and a brand new banking system. Thanks for sharing Dandelion.

Thank you Lois, glad you watched and it made sense to you. This is why I placed it on here, Max Kaiser tends to do a good job of making complicated conversation easier to understand. I agree, the 2nd part was really an eye opener.

There are too many analysts and very few get it right, what is probably safe to say is that the price of crude will stay low for a longer time than I would like and this have more to do with the economic stagnation in the BRICS Countries and especilly China. The good thing for you in the US is that gasprises will stay low and fracking will be to expensive to keep up.

This is what also was said in the video, this will be good for some and not so good for others.

Well I gave up watching after they tried to explain Norway's problem and what we would do in the future.Norway will never devaluate it's currency,it will use quantative easings as Bernanke did since 2008.I'm expecting that the Norwegian Central Bank will cut the interest rate at least one time by 0,25% in 2016,maybe two.The problem with quantative easings is that the financial market have mostly priced it in already which lessen the effect. We may have to buy a smaller turkey for thanksgiving in 2016 but I strongly believe that we'll be way on to recovery in 2017.If Yellen will gamble on raising the interest rent soon I'm not so sure,USA's recovery is still sluggish and this is an election year.
What I didn't hear in the video was anything about China,if they will manage a soft or a hard landing or any news from the rest of the upcoming Countries in BRICS.
What I did hear was a hash of old news put badly together.Guessing the future is exactly that - guesswork.

Time will tell I suppose. I like the Keiser report, perhaps you are a much more in depth economic reader. Good luck to us all. Nothing for any of us is assured in this global economy. As always, it's those who can least afford the trip up's that get hit the hardest.

I totally agree with your last sentence Sheryl.
Regarding getting my financial news I prefer Richard Quest on CNN and what is more important to me is Norwegian and Portuguses economic forecasts and news, that's where I live and that's what affects me.

Gina sounds like a charmer - has anyone explained to her she can't take it with her to the great beyond.

I see great unrest in Brazil, in addition to what you wrote, they are also having major water issues. Like lack of water. Some climatic but it is also in combination to not placing some of the profits into the aging systems that deliver water. More of the Greedy Heartless Ones lining their own pockets rather than making sure that leaking pipes are replaced. Great deal for awhile, leaks that are not seen, charge for extra water people never used.......now the climate steps in and bingo......no water in the reserves.

BP's reaction to this is that they're going to shred their workforce. . .

Now if our govt's really worked for us, they'd be starting training programs for these displaced workers to go into green energy sources.

In a Capitalist driven culture, Dandelion, I very doubt there is much contingency plan set in place BEFORE major change happens. The powers-that-be simply react to everything. Foresight is not figured in.

I was with IBM around the Millenium, and they had two restructures because of falling sales affecting their profits.

Reminds me of a story my Mother told me, she the lowly factory worker in the company. They sent in some big wig and he found out she was correct. She was given some token money for her efforts, they should have raised her up the ranks.....but she was a woman and only "men" held those positions, if you know what I mean.

She saved them millions, they should have given her something, and while they were still stuck on this female and male "thing" at the time, they were a small well known company in the town, that still believed in working with some kind of "honor'. I'm sure they felt they were being most gracious doing what they did, and they gave her some thank you paper commending her workmanship.

Actually Mom said it wasn't too bad a place to work for, they paid a bit better than other places, they use to take their employees out once a year and do a catered meal and dancing for them. Each Christmas she got a bonus, wasn't a lot but it helped, plus at Christmas they passed out a ham and Thanksgiving each got a turkey. They did more than some places. Then they were bought out by one of the Corporate Vultures so went the businesses.

The Queen of England use to buy her silver items from there, my Mother had final say by the time of her near retirement as to each piece whether it was perfect enough to leave. All Presidents use to get a plaque from there when they became President. This was a well respected company, had been in that town going way back founded 1690 and this Corporate Vulture drained it dry, went bankrupt, got out from most all of it's obligations to its retirement people (which was generous compared to other places) but that was the company's promise, stay with us, we'll take care of you at retirement.

She was retired when this happened, she lost her health insurance, her life insurance, and her pension was cut back. What she thought was going to be a "comfortable" retirement suddenly wasn't and she was too old and not feeling well to do anything about it at that point. This is the screw over that has happened over here to so many people.

Very hurtful, to believe that what you assumed to be so, and having watched her older family members receive all promises, remember the company was around from 1690 and my family had worked there going way back, even members of my Father's family, one being a master engraver. All treated fairly well and their retirements, as promised, were seen to by the company with a good pension, a yearly meal, an extra check at Christmas, burial and health care when that came into fashion. After so long this one Vulture Capitalist came along and destroyed the company, it no longer exists and destroyed those retirees or near retirement people's lives. I saw a change in Mom after that, she started talking more about just wanting to leave this world.

I'm glad you were still young enough and quick on your feet your were able to change paths and go on to a better situation no doubt. For some it's just too late in the game. The Heartless Greedy Ones just keep on rolling, I've watched my own family members, friends, neighbors get destroyed over here with what has all been taking place. None of them have a clue in DC or if they do they ignore it, tell people how wonderful it all is now since Obama got in. For whom? How can they make it wonderful when they allowed this to take place on their watch? They crawled in bed with them and most are still in bed with them.....if Bernie doesn't get in nothing will change. At least with him in the White House, the message will get out, get people out of the fog they are in, the helpless feeling they are in, maybe even give the destroyed a hope and a prayer of some improvements. Too late for my Mother, too late for many who lost their homes, their retirement, their savings.....but perhaps the younger ones they might not have to suffer through the same.
