What About These Other Terrorist Attacks?

World  (tags: Turkey, ISIS, bombings, terrorist attacks, global reaction, Daesh )

Whatever the reasons for the disparity of global reaction, the message that emerges from these twinned events is that some lives matter more than others. Until there is some recognition that an ISIS attack on one country is an attack on all.

Thanks for this factual report Dandelion--here in the US so much of world news never reaches us even when it should so we have a distorted view by lost context. Lives matter and all deaths from terrorism should be viewed as equally reprehensible.

"Western-media bias or racism as possible explanations."!!!

It's DISGUSTING & no doubt murdoch has a part to play in the censorship!

Have been blocked again on facebook for sharing too many petitions!

Western press/media censors a lot of stories, worldwide, so the public doesn't get an overall picture of what's happening.

In order to get an overall picture, we have to rely on a variety of independent sources. Most of the British press/media is controlled by right-wing media moguls, so the control of information is tailored to a right-wing mindset.

Plus, despite the Tory government claiming otherwise, people ARE actually struggling in the UK with their own personal lives and jobs.

All our last terrorist attacks have been staged in order to stir hatred, and most people fall for it and believe what our media is telling us. Peace!

It's disgusting. What has happened to responsible journalism or are they being suppressed?

The West's media is set up to keep the fear level high. The current world power structure is still based on fear of others. A terrorist attack in Africa does not effect the Western mind. Therefore, it is not covered. Once the peoples of the world come to realize that the media is manipulating them, they'll go to independent sources and get a better idea of what is truly happening.

Sorry to be rude Birgit, but that's BS! Have you been subscribing to Natural News? Mike Adams loves a conspiracy theory.

Maybe I'm missing something: I was aware of all of these attacks from mainstream news-sources, except the relatively tiny one in Budapest.

Also, a lack of coverage is not the same as censorship. If we had every act of violence of this scale front and center in the news, we would really never have seen these ones: They would have been too buried in these: . Also, we would never see any other news either. News agencies try to report what they believe would be of interest to, and deemed credible by (but that is another story) their target audiences. That's just their business.

I agree Stephen, the mainstream media might of mentioned the other bombings, but one had to just happen to catch it. If they are stating they are a "news" channel then what they "believe" to be of interest is not what should be covered, but they should cover the news. Thereby giving equal time to many stories, not hours on hours to one story and a 5 second mention to another.

I disagree, If everyone kept to there own country, without the refugees, we would be safer. Surely the home affairs departments in the different countries should be aware of the ISIS element.

Do you mean, Margie, that everyone everyone born in a particular country should stay in their country, or do you mean that people should travel, work, or move to other countries?

Julie W.: Do not discount the possibility that wars are created to divide, because that's how weapons manufacturers actually work.

ALL the world's weapon manufacturers are currently enjoying record profits because of the increased global uncertainly and tensions extant.

Do you mean to tell me Margie, that if the bombs were raining down upon you and your child, that every time you took your child outside there would be blood and body parts, that you'd have to take shelter where-ever you could because your home was destroyed, your job was destroyed, your car was destroyed, and daily life is trying not to die and constantly bordering in the point of starvation.

You mean to tell me you wouldn't try to get you and your child to safety? Even if it meant going to another Country? People don't want to leave their homes and all they know and knew, to go to a foreign land that may or may not want them, but having little choice but death if they remain what choice does a person have?

The ISIS element came after the infrastructure was destroyed, communication is down, not all people are trained to stand up to something like ISIS, shopkeepers, teachers, Mothers, the aged, the children, are not trained to be soldiers and warriors any more than the average person in our Country is. My goodness I'm sure if the situation was reversed you'd be running for your life as well....with your child. Many of those who are fleeing are women and their children.
