Wasserman Schultz says the Florida law should serve as a model for the CFPB. Consumer groups say the Florida model has failed. Nick Bourke of the Pew Charitable Trusts said the CFPB should instead follow the approach of Colorado.

Thankfully we have Senator Warren fighting for us.

I certainly agree. She is a very intelligent woman and can see through the crap. Too many things have been pushed down the public's throat as "good for us" or the best we can do. But Elizabeth Warren with her own expertise and education can see these bills for what they will or will not do. So yes, we are most fortunate.

Good evening and thank you for this article -which i read and noted-- I WOULD BELIEVE ELIZABETH ANY TIME OVER SCHULTZ--- Ms. Warren is a beautiful honest straight forward person of character and honesty- schultz - I do not trust her as far as i could throw her- she has lied and pulled trick on Bernie ever since this campaign began- she is a clinton - Washington big money insider- I really hope Bernie and warren can really stick it to schultz and clinton -just to show them that the good guy can win some times just telling the truth and not taking dirty big money from lobby groups and pacs- sincerely KAY M.

There is indeed a huge contrast and why DWS should not be representing the party with her moderate republican stance on issues such as this one (framed by her campaign donors perhaps). Thanks Dandelion

"Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), the chair of the DNC, is co-sponsoring a bill along with several other Florida lawmakers that would water down a forthcoming effort to regulate payday lenders, whose high-interest loans, consumer advocates say, often trap the poor in a cycle of debt."

Debbie took a wrong turn a while back and hasn't yet returned from the Twilight Zone. Her obsession with Hilliary Clinton threw her off her game - and she may never recover.

Yeah Deb, what people in FL really need is another w-a-t-e-r-e-d-d-o-w-n bill to regulate 'Payday Vampires'.?!?

Some highlights of Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Besides what many know of her siding with Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders which she isn't suppose to be doing.

.......she favors ongoing criminalization of marijuana (receiving large financial support from the alcohol industry)

........she boasted that her “criminal-justice record is perhaps not as progressive as some of her fellow progressives.

.......she is a corporatist a hawk

.......a co-sponsor of SOPA heavily backed by the Chamber of Commerce. Which, if enacted, would have allowed extreme government and corporate control over the internet.

.......She demanded that Edward Snowden “be extradited, arrested, and prosecuted”

I hope in her upcoming election that Tim Canova wins. He is a lawyer with a history of activism both with the Occupy movement. He is against the Wall Street bailout for which Wasserman Schultz voted and the general excesses of big banks and crony capitalism. He is also an opponent of the Patriot Act for which Wasserman Schultz repeatedly voted.

On this pay day situation I think Debbie Wasserman Schultz has proven to me which side she stands on if I could vote in South Florida I'd be voting for Tim.

With Democrats like Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who needs Republicans? It's hard to believe that she even calls herself a Democrat. It sounds like Tim Canova may beat her in the upcoming election. Let's hope so!

Yes - I liked Canova's thinking: Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s Challenger Has a Chance
Thousands of Democrats want the DNC chair to resign. Populist Timothy Canova has another idea.

I do hope the strategy works!

Noted. Thanks for posting, Dandelion.
I have read other articles regarding all the "financial support" Wasserman Schultz has received from the payday loan industry. Bought-and-paid for. Agree with others she's a DINO (Dem In Name Only). Hoping that Canova wins! I am sick to death of these Corporate Dems.

lol....thanks Janice for the comment and the chuckle.

Evelyn thanks for the link, good article. I think the article summed it up pretty well with this one line. Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz has managed the impressive feat of angering virtually every liberal in America.

I think she better just sign on to the Republican Party she has done enough damage for the Democrats and perhaps she can even finish them off over on the Right.

Whenever there is a disagreement between Senator Warren and anyone, including Wasserman-Schultz, I will agree with Senator Warren - she is the only politician in the Senate, besides Bernie, who gives a rats butt about the common person. She's right, everyone else is wrong. And there is no way on earth Wasserman-Schultz should be head of the DFL at this point. She has proven time and again she is beholden to special interests over the bulk of us. I barely consider her a democrat. DINO, maybe is a better description. In Name Only.
