Analysis from progressive policy experts on issues of global concern eliminating the threat of ISIS will require the US to shift from drone attacks and airstrikes to addressing the conditions that drive people to align with ISIS as the lesser of two evils

having troubles here today. The "do no harm" philosophy is golden...would that we could implement it! Most of the world would agree. hillary does not.

I thank both of you. Normally I send green stars but today C2 doesn't seem to allow.

This affects all users.
We are doing a little maintenance onsite and I am aware that it is causing some issues with your Groups, eCards, Messaging, Green Stars and Commenting.
We are aware and should elements of this repaired as we go, so hang in there and we'll be back to normal...actually, better than ever, in just a little while!

America could EASILY start ending WAR, by removing ITSELF from other countries.

Thanks for posting, Dandelion.
I have read articles written by Bennis before and have totally agreed with her message.
I also believe that Darren stated it very well quite succinctly above.
(Yeah, still having bad tech issues here, too).

And, I believe that the reason this doesn't get more attention is because we're still feeling the effects of the Bush Regime that smashed to the ground anyone who spoke out against war. We are basically traitors if we want to stop the drone bombings or military funding. We are un-patriotic and anti-American. It hasn't changed much, unfortunately, in the past 15 years---and I am very angry and frustrated personally.
But, I will not stop speaking out against it either.

I have often said that the War on Terror is no more effective than the War on Drugs and the War on Poverty. Fighting terrorism in the manner that the US government chooses to do it only creates more terrorists. This is one of many reasons why I will not support Hillary Clinton for President.

"If you're killing them instead of ISIS killing them, you're not doing any good."

Thanks Sheryl for the video. Phyllis Bennis does a great job of explaining things and i'll look for her book on this subject. She has a few books out called "A Primer" about various subjects that are good reads for relatively short and straightforward information. I have "Ending the Iraq War," but don't know how many she's written in that series.

Anyway, it's sad that this common sense and humane advice (which of course has always been known) can't be followed.
