The act of solidarity was one of many over the years by a largely Irish Catholic community with a strong sense of affinity for the Palestinian struggle against colonization.

I thought it was wonderful how they were in hopes of getting $20,000 to give to programs that help the Palestinians but they actually received $200,000. It was worth the fine to them.

Hmm, money for medical aid, that's good, but they also shared a 'strong sense of affinity' for the IRA - and they opposed Remembrance Sunday. An insult to the memory of the many brave Irishmen who fought and died opposing Nazism and Fascism.

For those who are not familiar with Remembrance Sunday as it is known by other names in other places.

Remembrance Sunday is held in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth as a day "to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts". It is held on the second Sunday in November, the Sunday nearest to 11 November, Armistice Day, the anniversary of the end of hostilities in the First World War at 11 a.m. in 1918.

Do you know their reasoning why they opposed Remembrance Sunday John?

Good for the Celtics and their fans! Israel needs to stop the atrocities against the Palestinians. It's good to see that the sacred cow is losing its halo.

Good for the Celtic team. The Palestinians don't get the support they need and that collection will truly be appreciated and put to good use....

In terms of barriers, anyone remember "Humpty Dumpty"?
