HR 610 does not just kill the public education protections enjoyed for the past half century, that protected disabled students, minorities, and funnels money away from public schools to private religious schools, it kills the nutrition standards 4 lunch

If DT's agenda is to destroy what really makes the US great, he's going about it the most effective way: choice of "advisors", roll back of human rights, roll back of protection systems ...
How else can one explain logically what the WH is doing?

It's the NEXT POTUS who will face the massive challenge of trying to Make America Great Again, once this one has finished his swathe of destruction ...

UNLESS the People keep tackling their Representatives & pushing powerfully to block the destructive drive

They are trying very hard to keep the populous uneducated. They can only keep power thru our ignorance and their LIES. But, with the internet and smart phones knowledge is available to all. They will lose.

When your members of Congress are back in their home districts and hold town meetings, make it a point to show up and ask questions. If you frighten them enough, they will do your bidding instead of listening to their corporate masters. We can't be idle. With enough pressure from the people, those elected officials will work on passing progressive legislation. But, it's up to us. I don't think Trump much cares one way or the other. The people are giving him too much power; but, that power is, or should be in our hands. We are the ones who have the power. Don't be complacent. No matter what party your members of Congress are in, if you are not happy with what they do, then you have to tell them.

Mrs. DeVos should not be Secretary of Education; but, Democrats did help confirm her. Her children went to private schools and apparently they had great experiences; but, not all children do. When a school is funded by private entities such as religious groups or corporations, the curriculum can be anything that these groups want it to be.

Stay strong, fight back.

I contacted my Senator, Pat Toomey (R,PA) to ask him to vote no on DeVos's confirmation. I got back a letter detailing how much he is looking forward to working with DeVos. "School choice" (segregation), you know. We're in such big trouble.

Betsy DeVos applauds historically segregated schools as ‘pioneers of school choice’

Donna, I'm not sure what you mean that Democrats helped confirm DeVos.

The Senate Just Confirmed Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary. Every Single Democrat Voted Against Her.

Donna is right on the money!

Take the wind right out of their sails. Don't let anyone convince you that the electorate is powerless or that you have no right to express your opinion or gather the information to modify or adjust yours.

Express your views, and insist on an explanation for theirs. Don't be afraid to amend your opinion, compromise or call them out. Each and every one of us has a right to "get behind" public policy. We need the opportunity to form PUBLIC opinion, not private opinion, ours, theirs or anyone else's.

If we have a problem, and we can agree on that, then we have an obligation to try something new to get out of the rut we are in and move forward. We need to be clear on what the goals are and how we know we have achieved them and not be afraid make changes along the way. Its not us against them, its us together building our strengths and diminishing our weaknesses. No side wins until they come together to overcome the problem, not one another.

Don't bully, don't be bullied.

Wayne, you need to look at the big picture. The Democrats chose to boost their candidate instead of the best candidate. Since Hillary Clinton was the Chosen One instead of Bernie Sanders, many Democrats chose not to vote at all. Some Democrats voted for Trump; but, there were others who voted third party.

Even if none of the Democrats voted to confirm Mrs. DeVos, in a way, they are responsible for us having Mrs. DeVos as Secretary of Education. People are tired of the Democrats acting like Republicans. Do you recall all the crowds that Bernie Sanders drew on the primary campaign trail? Tens of thousands! If the DNC had not done what it did to get Clinton to be the nominee, Bernie Sanders would be our President now and we would not be having this conversation. Bernie Sanders would not have nominated Betsy DeVos.

So, yes, the Democrats helped get Betsy DeVos confirmed.

Glad you came back to explain Donna, this is what I thought you line of thinking was doing but I didn't want to put words in your mouth.

The Dem's chose their weakest Candidate and most disliked to go against the Republicans most disliked. What a way to have an election. Trump spoke like a populist, he was a con man, but he spoke as populist, whereas Hillary pandered to business as usual which isn't working for lots of people. She managed to get a few to hold their nose to vote for her, and I'm sure there were some people who truly liked her, but that wasn't enough to defeat Trump.

Bernie is still pulling in the crowds wherever he goes, he has Republicans crying on his shoulder, telling him that he cares more for them than their own elected officials. Bernie Sanders was the one but the Elites in DC didn't want him, they wanted to continue to kiss their donors butts and push the one who felt it was her turn next.

Now she has joined Trump in beating on the war drums.......just like many of us knew she would. I an others were in hopes he wouldn't as he had said so much, but he flops all over the place with him words who knows anymore, but with her we "knew' we'd be in a war with Syria. Both she and Trump were despicable.

I don't know what it is about these religious zealots. Why is it that religious freedom is not enough? The freedom and ability to persuade others to follow their calling is not enough for them. They continually push and push their views and won't stop until their views are legislated. That's not freedom.

I'm reminded of gnats, they have seeming endless energy with nothing else to do and persist with a driving, incessant compulsion to bully and tell others what it is they should be doing. That has to be a defining quality of hell. Don't you wish they would go away? I do.

Yes, as some of you have observed, Clinton, who has SUPPORTED BOMBING was and is the Democrats DAMAGED candidate. Had the Democrats gone with Bernie Sanders, who is and was infinitely more preferred by the masses than either Clinton or Trump, you would have a different President, AND, you would have the prospects of a far healthier future.
