From the media to Congress to banks to the presidency to businesses to places of worship is among the most serious crises of our time. It breeds cynicism, lack of trust and a general feeling of social and cultural unsteadiness,

You sure could have a lot of fun with that image of Sean Spicer with his finger in his ear. . .

Shared news article and analysis over social media to raise and spread awareness.

The impression that you get is that everyone is out for themselves and the devil take the hindmost and it starts at the top. Courtesy, empathy, consideration and a sense that we are all in this together is not the behavior modeled by our leaders, not politically, not in business, and it is disappearing from general society as well. Everything is a struggle and no one is on your side. Everyone is trying to trick you, fool you, and take advantage in some way.

For a country that spends so much time in church, we sure haven't learned much. I watched in horror as a pedestrian in a crosswalk in front of a catholic church was very nearly struck by an unyielding motorist, both were on their way to mass at that church. ??1!?? Unfathomable, and apparently a sign of the times. On your way to church you can't discount that you will be hit in the crosswalk,..... by a fellow parishioner.

More than sad Marco, heart wrenching. To many at the head of churches have been preaching prosperity of self and forgot all the other lessons they should be teaching and setting an example.

A President who tweets at 6AM,call every news "Fake" and operates with "Alternative Facts" doesn't help much either.

Yesterday I participated in my local Tax March. Next weekend it's the March for Science. The general public has definitely lost faith in the pillars of our society - and if those pillars are crumbling, we need to build new ones. No wonder Bernie Sanders is so popular. He has a real vision and provides progressives with hope and ideas. Before you tear down your old house, make sure you have a new one to inhabit.

Very good article Dandelion Thanks. I think that it is affecting society in general look at the violent fights at UC Berkeley between Trump supporters and opposition. look at the way some people treat each other on social media and sometimes even on care 2. Civility is suffering a great decline. Maybe they are following the poor example set by these people in positions of power..

The tone is set at the top Jolene and it's been very rudely presented.
