Cat Declawing: The Painful Truth

Offbeat  (tags: cats, claws )

Cats are born with claws just as humans are born with fingernails. Declawing is an often unnecessary and painful procedure that can have lasting and harmful consequences for a cat.

It's despicable & it's hard to believe it's still legal in the US, it's been banned in Australia for many years!!!

Unfortunately it is still legal here as well, although there is talk of it changing. I myself HATE this, especially after working at an animal hospital in the 90's where this was a common daily thing they did to poor cats.
At this one place, a woman actually came in and asked if they would declaw her DOG!!! Apparently she wanted to make a necklace out of it. Well let me tell you the vet freaked out and asked her to leave. Thank God! Disgusting thing to do to ANY animal.
