There is a controversy raging in North America over Israeli Apartheid Week (March 1 to 7, 2010). A resolution was passed in the Ontario Provincial Parliament, which was unanimously supported (though only 30 MPPs voted), declared the comparison of Israel's

Yes it is a fair comparison, if you don't artificially restrict your view to ignore how Israel treats ALL Indigenous Palestinian people under Israeli control.

Having grown up in a society which practiced genuine apartheid, I see quite a few differences between the situation in Israel and apartheid.

Hopefully, however, the parties will soon work out a three-state solution with borders that will be respected by all.

It is surprising that our local legislators here in Ontario are brighter than the college clowns at the University of Toronto.

Well, maybe not so surprsing. I am a Queen'sman. Oil Thigh.

israel is not apartheid! all the proofs of isreali apartheid are talking about arabs without isreali citizenship, so of course they don't have the same rights as israeli citizens. in america, do people without american citizenship have the same rights as americans? does that make america apartheid? all arabs with isreali citizenship have all the same rights except that they don't have to be in the israeli army while most jewish israelis do. israeli apartheid week should be banned.

In addition to Ontario Parliament condemning that hate festival on campuses, many students groups are outraged that this campaign is funded by public money! Students started to withdraw fees going to OPIRG to protest such manipulations.

OPIRG has to forbidden to sponsor it, Israeli haters can easily find lots of cash in Iran, or Saudi, or other Arab members of OPEC. IAW organizers must stop stealing money from people who don't want to them to IAW!

Woody is off again with his talk of "all indigenous palestinians" whcich is, of course his propagandistic buzzword phrase for "arabs" and is, thus untrue.

Arabs who are citizens of Israel have exactly the same privileges as Israeli citizens who are Jews, Christain, Druze, Buddhist, Wiccan, or atheist. Arabs sit in the Knesset (that's the parlaiment, Woody, something quite alien to Hamas and Fatah), serve in the armed forces (even as high officers), and generally go about their business like any other Israeli, including making use of their right of peaceful protest on occasion.

But as in any other country, non-citizens are not accorded these rights. That's what the word "citizen" means.
