Not that we should elevate fear levels but we should have community discussions that include some sort of basics of survival in cases of big castrophes.

Potassium Iodide tablets can be purchased from certain REPUTABLE online vendors of survival supplies. (But be careful because, after this, non-reputable sellers will crawl out of the woodwork.) You can also buy thick plastic sheeting and duct tape from hardware stores.

FEMA publications are available online that detail sheltering-in-place procedures.

As unprepared as Japan's people were/are - I shudder to think what could happen in the U.S.A. after Bu$h Leaguers pretty much destroyed FEMA...:(

How brave were those men who went into the reactor to try and shut it down and cool the rods, knowing this may be a fatal trip and it would only be a matter of time before they succumb to radioactive sickness and death.
Brave , brave, souls who put their lives on the line to save their fellow man. True Hero's
