Thank you, Anna. How wonderful to read that the lives of 1399 wolves have been spared.

I was worried Congress might be looking to lift the Endangered Species protection on wolves, given the shaky ground that the animals' population has been on. While this is certainly encouraging news, it's still fairly clear evidence of just how unstable their protection still is.

GOod! I'm so cynical that when I first read the headline I translated it to mean there would be no protections for wolves. This is so much better! Thanks!

Thanks Anna. The wording is so bewildering I don't know if this is a 'win' or a lose. Either way, ranchers and others who hate wolves or any predators that get in their way of their personal priorities, will not give up. As far as those who think that 'Humans First - everything else get out of the way', have tunnel vision that is deadly for all.

NRDC, Wild Earth Guardians, Defenders of Wildlife and Center of Biological Diversity all have generic letters you can sign (or better personalize) for all Americans. They will go to your senators. Some of these are now circulating on C2 or look for news search on C2. People outside the US can contact the President of US. A generic letter is also circulating, or copy/paste info, and re-invent. THIS IS SERIOUS. Congress has no business making decisions based on politics, rather than science. A POSSIBLE DE-LISTING OF ANY SPECIES WILL CREATE A HORRIFIC PRECEDENT. The wolf is a natural part of a healthy ecosystem, but the ranchers and hunters are in competition with them. If this passes legislation, they will slaughter the wolf, not only is this reprehensibly inhumane but ecologically disastorous. Yes, I am very passionate about this. TAKE ACTION NOW.
