I liked math and chemisty when I actually came across a good teacher. I believe anyone can excell in mathematics if they have a good teacher. I had to work harder than some who by nature were more mentally inclined, but that's the secret; good teachers and a little mental labor.

Great article, but they shortchanged Alan Turing's contributions. They failed to mention his realization that complex biological systems could self develop from simple rules. His paper "The Chemical Basis of Morphogenesis", is considered one of the most significant works of the 20th century.

Great summary. Greek Pythagoras's realisation that women can learn math doubled - no, cubed - his world's abilities in math...

in moderation don't let this make the students feel over whelmed or insecure about their abilities.
