EcoGeek.Org has a handful of incredible and fun developments reported this week including one from Google's solar project that has the honest and likely potential to beat the cost of coal in productivity. Another reports UMichigan's integrated chip which might allow rethinking the limits of integrated power and computing applications with small appliances. And both developments are likely to report out in practical terms in a matter of months rather than years!
One of the blurbs also reminds us that we're still confined geographically more than anything else. Wind gens harnessed more power than could be transmitted through available structure! Rather than millions for space, this year, how about a prize for devising a transmission technology that doesn't have to be strung?
