Why I Fight For Burma
Posted in Reflets Sombres with tags Burma, genocide, Holocaust, Humanity, Native American on October 8, 2009 by buffalohair

me Mingalaba!
I’ve been asked why I’ve decided to take a stand for the people of Burma. I pondered this question for a moment then I explained exactly why.
A little over 150 years ago my people along with the rest of the Indigenous population of the United States of America were under siege. With the pseudo religious axiom of Manifest Destiny the US Government declared war on us allowing for the wholesale murder of our sovereign nations. From the land of the Lenapi, Lakota, Cheyenne, Apache and a multitude of other noble tribes we were hunted down like animals.

We were hunted down, tortured raped and murdered in the secret holocaust that killed millions of my brothers and sister in this hellish bloodbath. Children were raped and cut to ribbons while pregnant women had babies carved out of their bellies while U.S. Soldiers laughed and joked. Civilians were offered rewards for our scalps while soldiers paraded through their towns with human body parts ornamenting their ponies and uniforms. And the media pumped the papers full of lies to fostered support for the genocide of those “

pesky savages”.

Lusting for the funny yellow medal that makes the white man crazy, soldiers under the stewardship of General George Armstrong Custer they invaded tribal land that was promised by treaties. The Black Hills became a killing field as well as the rest of Indian Country. Screams of agony echoed throughout the land while anyone who could carry a rifle shot innocent men women and children in their slept, as they ate or hunted. Even on territory promised to tribes in the waning years of the holocaust such as Oklahoma the land was opened up to settlers in the most criminal acts of land theft in U.S. history. People were murdered in clod blood by settlers who brought wagons and built farms and communities with no regard for treaties.

Rivers ran with the blood of my people as the land grab continued. Manifest Destiny was their divine right to take what they wanted even though the land was promised to us. Eventually many of our nations ceased to exist and their histories ripped from history books. They could not take away our oral tradition and we remember what they have done to us and the myriad of tribes that disappeared from the face of this Earth. All that remained of these tribes were names in a subdivision street or ally. The countryside was filled with mass graves where the Cavalry buried our slaughtered people, out of sight and out of mine. Many events were never recorded or the facts skewed to justify our demise. The once bountiful buffalo was all but exterminated in part to destroy our food supply and to introduce their tasteless fat laden cow from English cattle barons. Herds used to span as far as the eye could see. Eye witness accounts told of trains stopped for over a day as herds many miles wild and untold miles long would cross the railroad track.  Photos of these so called great buffalo hunters sitting on gigantic piles of carcasses adorn museums to this day. Speaking about the railroad, people would ride the train and take pot shots for sport at Indians who were simply watching the locomotive roll through they land. People would wager who would shoot the most “savages” on a trip killing fathers, mothers and children in their wake.

To add insult to injury we were victims of biological warfare with cholera infested blankets that were distributed to our people on the paltry reservations they finally gave us. The locations were wind driven with no game or a means to survive the cold bitter months. Rancid and putrefied food was distributed to us while greedy brokers kept the good. And the whole world looked on with ambivalence and distain as the media masters pumped out lies after lies with their tabloids raising even more negative press against us. Only after the advent of the 20th Century did the U.S. Government stop a program of rewarding people with $900 for Indian skulls robbed from our graves Government anthropologists were feverishly trying to prove we were sub human. This is only a tiny glimpse of the stories that abound with much more gruesome tales of genocide, betrayal and survival against all odds. All that remains is a fraction of the Indigenous populations who once lived on this land. The few buffalo that survived are relegated to ranches never to roam the plains again.

My uncle once told me that we are related to the coyote since no matter how hard the white man tried to kill us off we still returned. The shooting has stopped for the most part. We are relegated to reservations and in many cases still struggle to survive. But we are still here, witnesses to mans greed and the wholesale slaughter of innocent men women and children. It was one of the greatest acts of genocide in world history. From the tip of Alaska to the tip of South America untold millions of Natives were slaughtered in cold blood by Europeans hunting for gold, land and a multitude of natural resources. In the south the genocide continues throughout Central and South America for gold, oil and other natural resources. So I guess I should feel fortunate living in relative safety, but I’m not so inclined.

When I first met a Karen villager I was curious about their culture so I queried through my interpreter Madam Butterfly. I was taken back by what I heard because it was a carbon copy of what happened to our people in the Americas. The ghoulish and barbaric details brought tears to my eyes because I saw my own relations in these soft spoken tribal people. I was introduced to the political exiles that spent their young years in Insein prison. They were tortured and beaten to till they did not move on a daily basis for the crime of wanting freedom and democracy. An elder told me an ancient story about 7 fabled brothers within their Asian tradition. Then I was told that I and all the Natives of the Americas were descendants of the eldest brother, (Shaun htoi Gam). It was a very intriguing yet humbling story.

As I looked into the eyes of their children I could see my cousins, nieces and my beloved sister who I used to call the Chinaman because of her pronounced Asian features. That’s when I decided to take up this cause and make the world aware of the atrocities that befell these innocent and kind people. The eldest brother has come back home to help his people.

A lot of water has passed under the bridge of life and I’ve traveled many miles since that fateful day. With a wealth of resources including intelligence and advanced technology at my disposal I’ve taken up the cause with a vengeance. Whether they are Kachin, Mon, Karen, Wa, Rvwang or the multitude of tribes who face extinction they are my people. I will utilize my resources in both Asia and the free world to accomplish the common goal, freedom from bondage. I have many aces up my sleeve and some spooky little friends who are already in the trenches fighting for Burma’s democracy. One day I will be drinking tea at a quaint little café with my brother Myo Thein in Rangoon City. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will be dedicating a new hospital down the street. I can smell the nga pi wafting in the air now.

9-11-2009 A Prayer for Those Left Behind

The One Voice Mural

The One Voice 9-11 Healing Totem sculpture above was gifted in the memory of all those lives lost in the 9-11 tragedies.  It was transported cross country from California and unveiled and erected within the New York City Bronx Zoo in September, 2002 on the first year anniversary.

A Prayer for Those Left Behind, (9-11)

Within my tradition we believe there is no death. Whence we’ve crossed over into the spirit world we are embraced by our ancestors and will never be alone again. So my prayer is for the living who walk this ambivalent world in the pall of grief and loneliness.

Maheo’ hear my prayer, fore I ask in a humble way.
I pray for the living and their broken spirits
Fore they truly walk in a much emptier world
Their hearts still filled with grief and sorrow

May the winds of the four direction
Whisper the words of their fallen loved ones
The words they need to hear
To let them know they are with you

In the land from which we all came from
And the land from which we all shall return

A Horse lover? Of the Wild Horse Herds?

News from Breyer Animal Creations - Help Cloud's Herd

We have learned recently from our friend Ginger Kathrens, the Emmy-award winning director of the Cloud documentary series that Cloud's herd in the Pryor Mountains of Montana has been targeted for a round-up on or about September 1st by the Bureau of Land Management. This sad news comes just two months before the third installation of Ginger's series is set to air on PBS. Cloud: Challenge of the Stallions, part of PBS' NATURE Series, is slated to air on October 25. By the time the show airs, there is a real chance that his band will no longer be living together or living in the wild.

We have written to the President, the Secretary of the Interior and to the head of the BLM asking them to stop this round-up and to review the policies that precipitated it.

If you would like to learn more, we wanted to provide you with the following information to do so.

Please visit:http://www.thecloudfoundation.org/

Thank you.

The Great Lie and Destiny
Posted in America's with tags Chicken Little, Corporatism, Fascism, Obama, One World Order on July 22, 2009 by buffalohair

obummer As Barack Obama and henchman Rahm Emanuel makes another pitch for the tax payer dollar by convincing us all is well American’s continue to lose jobs and homes. Clearly the people to have benefitted from these bail-outs and give-a-ways were members of the House of Representatives and Congress. Both sides of the isle were enriched and their retirement accounts secured regardless of the rhetoric the Dems and Reps spewed to the public. With the main stream media owned part and parcel by the very corporations pining for a One World Order we got a sugar frosted “crap sandwich” generations in the future will be paying off. Democracy has already past into history since the voice of the people has been placed on ignore as the Constitution becomes nothing more than a piece of paper.

The one thing both the Democratic and Republican parties have done was systematically divide the people then conquer a nation from within. The reality of how deeply invested our so called politicians were in all these criminally negligent corporations should have been a red flag. In a civil society politicians would have recused themselves from voting or participating in the debates involving the bail-outs and other corporate scams. It would have been the honorable thing to do since they had personal vested interests and stood to gain substantial monetary gain. On the contrary we were convinced that these bail-outs would help mom and pop and the American public by their constant Chicken Little banter and shock doctrine.

Likened to George Orwell’s novels, 1984 and Animal Farm our political arena has become the greatest con game in world history comparable to Adolf Hitler’s rise to power. Though it is said we are moving towards socialism we must be reminded this is not the case. We are moving towards international corporatism. To quote Benito Mussolini; “Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power” Another term directly associated with this rush for gold is Globalization or the One World Order. These axioms are not to benefit the general public but designed to reap a handsome profit for a hand full of people. It’s all about the corporate bottom line.

We the people are no longer citizens of our respective nations; we are simply consumers with no voice and resemble cattle to be fattened up for slaughter. Like chickens in a coup we rush from one sweet talking farmer to another seeking crumbs they toss to us. And like the chickens, we fight with one another over the scraps in a desperate need to survive. This is disaster capitalism at its best since now we are desperately in dire need of sustenance and will deal with the devil himself just to stay afloat. By crippling the economy beyond the point of no return our politicians paved the way for a global solution that will “save” America and the free world from financial doom. In the process liberty and the core essence of democracy will disappear into the annals of history. The world population will be relegated to indentured servitude, lock stock and tomahawk.

Ah but this scenario was predicted thousands of years ago if we bother to pay attention to prophecies from the myriad of dogma’s from around the world. While corporatists greedily anticipate the time we become a one world order, officially, nature and destiny have other plans that will surely put a monkey wrench in their plan. Within all these prophecies it is said that nature will have the final say. Money and material wealth will have no value and humanity will be humbled. It was also said in essence that for those who follow the Pier Piper of false hopes and dreams would parish and the meek shall inherit the Earth. I’ve seen this in my visions since I was a child. I’m not privy to these visions since I believe all people have the ability to see them if they tried. For the most part mankind chooses to live in the here and now, tossing anything within the supernatural in the proverbial dumpster of superstition. This will be the greatest error in human history and will guarantee their untimely demise. This was prophesized as well for many people will not buy into the ancient warnings or the teachings of crusty old Wiseman.

Oh well, to bad so sad and now mankind is grasping at straws while bogus politician’s guild humanity into the one world order. On the bright side this is not the final outcome but a segway for the real main event. You can run but you can’t hide for destiny is just around the corner. In my eyes civilization has come full circle since economics has become the order of the day. Humanity has been tossed aside for profits and the corporate bottom line. Mankind has become no better than the Neanderthal who’s only concern was what they could take from others in feudal wars over a berry patch or hunting grounds. Civilization has ceased to exist since there is nothing civil about our society. It’s all about the money Paisan, It’s all about the money.

Human Rights Violations by Touchstone Energy Affiliate.

601px-crow_creek_flag_svg

As the winter storms roll through the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation in South Dakota an affiliate of Touchstone Energy Cooperative, Central Electric Cooperative, chose to cut the power to infirmed, elderly and family homes. With an unusually bitter winter thus far families were thrust into life threatening situations as power for their homes was summarily cut. Exorbitant reconnection fees gouged this impoverished American Indian Community as people were forced to pay what was nothing more than extortion.

The bitter irony to this situation was the fact a hydro-electric dam was built on their tribal land. The terms for construction were quite simple, give the tribe free electricity as the conditions for building the dam. Sadly that was not the case as yet another promise or treaty was broken in the interests of the corporate bottom line. The fact the power was shut off during the dead of winter was a clear violation of a long standing policy forbidding the removal of services such as electricity during winter. With the winter as extreme as it has been this year makes this a Human Rights Violation, plain and simple. The fact elderly people on electric medical devices as well as infants were living in these homes showed cause for a criminal investigation at the very least.

Where temperatures have dipped below -50 in one of the worst winters in as many years this was a crime against humanity. Leaving elderly people who needed respirators to fend for themselves in the bitter cold was a shear act of brutality. Leaving children to freeze in the harsh winter months was a total and callous disregard for life and all of which should be investigated and the culprit’s charges with crimes against humanity.

This shameful display of wanton disregard for human life will reflect negatively on Touchstone Energy Cooperative since Central Electric Cooperative is under their watchful wing. If it was not for the valiant efforts of Can-Do, a nonprofit organization, the smell of death would permeate the air whence the spring thaw came to this region. With extreme winter conditions still plaguing this region as of this writing the death toll may still be of significant consequence as storms pummel this impoverished region of America. The Central Electric Coop will surely have blood on their hands if death is the bounty for their conduct. Touchstone Energy Cooperative COO Jim Bausell will have to come up with some real answers as to why their affiliate decided to pull meters in the dead of winter. Is this the standing policy of Touchstone and their associates across the country or is this just the policy on American Indian Reservations? And why was the agreement to provide electricity to the people of the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation ignored? I would like to know and I am sure the whole world would like to know as well.

The world should know about this horrific state of affairs within the continental United States of America. The world should know the people who’ve chosen to disregard the basics of human rights and dignity as well as their associates for they are nothing more than common criminals. And if someone dies because of their gross misconduct they should be tried for murder.

Please take the time to review the video I provided and take the time to write your state and federal representatives to show your disgust. There is no question Touchstone Energy will have their corporate hands out to collect their share of Stimulus Money. They will want some of that corporate welfare to bolster their corporate bottom line. Sadly when it came to the good people of the Crow Creek Sioux Indian Reservation they could not show the slightest bit of humanity.
