Not sure if this will be helpful, but this is what I wrote. I had to cut it down drastically, but I think they'll get the message. Please write!

It has come to my attention that Ford will be sponsoring the AQHA World Championships on NBC, January 12, 2008.

The AQHA has actively lobbied to stop the passage of the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act. Those who profess to love horses are willing to see them meet a heinous end, rather than teach responsible ownership.

They promote breeding, knowing full well that many horses and foals will meet their end at a slaughter house. You can learn more here:http://www.vetsforequinewelfare.org/index.php

When the slaughter houses were open in the U.S., our horses died by being strung up by their hind leg and bled to death; many still conscious taking their last breaths in their own pool of blood.

The majority of Americans want the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act passed in our Congress. By sponsoring this show you condone the slaughter of our horses, whether on U.S. soil or in Mexico, where they are tortured to death. I hope that you will reconsider your decision.

I bought these new additons to Break Heart Ranch from an auction Sat. 10/21. It would break your heart to see all the beautiful horses go through, most to killers. Babies, yearlings, pregnant mares, stallions. Heathy wonderful animals.
Thanks to donations and a special donation from a care member I was able to bid on more babies than I had planned.

  Message: Please help Val rescue more horses from slaughter...  
Please read and please help, thank you.

Tomorrow Break Heart Ranch Horse Rescue, Angel Heart Rescue and several other individual and rescues are hoping to make a strong showing at a slaughter auction in Fairbury Ne. Word is there are many pregnant mares, babies, weanlings and others that are not in good condition and will got cheap. This is a killer auction. Any we cannot rescue or have other individual buy, will go to slaughter.
Wish us luck, our funds are few and we are all to the near the full mark on taking in anymore rescues. That is the sad part. The numbers we save is controlled by the money we have. With extremely high hay prices it is getting harder and harder.

Please keep us in your thought tomorrow, especially the ones we can't save. It will be a tough day for us all.

Please, Please contact anyone and everyone about banning horse slaughter. I am on the front lines and the atrocity and inhumane treatment is far below our standing as so called humans. These animals aren't sick, old or insane. They are young, pregnant, babies, foals,
there only because they were the wrong color or sex, from some idiot back yard breeder or some one whose companion means nothing.

This message is cross posted from a group called AgainstSlaughter-sidenotes on Yahoo.com -  I could not find the site, but there is an email and phone number for information. Thank you.

I have been posting other sites the info and pics about the
auction horses near Topeka needing homes. 8+ are headed to slaughter Sun.
I have someone in Houston wanting to take 3 or possibly more and a
gal in KY wanting several of the younger ones going to the feedlot.
There are also 2 very old mares, one is Arabian and they are in
desperate need of a home. She is trying to contact Horsefaces for possible
free rescue transport. Does anyone know of other resources in these
locations that would be free or very reasonable and decent? The
rescue in TX is Remington Acres and they are seeking funds to help keep
these horses safe. They have a web site. You may also e-mail me directly
