The Robert F. Nicodemus Memorial Wilderness Project (Nicodemus Wilderness Project) is a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization whose purpose is to restore our wild and natural heritage by promoting stewardship
of the land and its biota. Our organization coordinates large-scale events that utilize the resources of the
local community to provide long-term environmental benefits for nature and wildlife. We have established a
large and enthusiastic volunteer network that draws upon the diverse strengths of different age groups,
races, and cultures to accomplish our common goal of restoring the integrity and beauty of the natural
world.
The goals of our Apprentice Ecologist Initiative™ are to elevate kids and teens
(especially disadvantaged or at-risk youth) into leadership roles by engaging them in environmental cleanup
projects, empower youth to rebuild the environmental and social well-being of our communities, and
improve local living conditions for both citizens and wildlife. Litter spoils nature's beauty, often harms or kills
wildlife, and provides habitat for disease-carrying pests. We need your help to clean it up!
