The reason I chose the frog for our picture is its species name "Xenopus laevis". This is the African clawed frog which is used for scientific research and sold as pets. They must be in the water and cared for like fish. I call them "fishy frogs" for that reason. I named myself after these interesting creaures since my landlord made me get rid of my fish tanks and even confiscated the one my beautiful Xenopus were swimming around in & eating like cute little piggies in.
