Meetup.com is a great site to find like minded people for action and some fun! I belong to KC Dog Advocates and it is very active. They have everything from animal welfare groups, stay at home mom groups, spanish language groups, star wars fanatics to ghost hunter groups. The groups generally meet once a month and it is free to join!
