Just want to say that the president speaking to the kids of the USA on the importance of education is great!!! It's about time that someone spoke about the importance of it, and that we need someone of his stature to tell thekids/parents that education is the most important key to their future...look at other countries at how long their kids are in school and how important the parents and their goverments feel education is to their offspring!!! They also don't seemto have as many gang problems- their kids are too busy with school/homework!!! I believe that those countries that have a low literacy rate have more problems with corrupt government, abject poverty, segregation by race, ethnicity, gender, and even tribal affilations!!! look at Iran, Afghanistan, countries in Africa...even South American countries...look at Chaves and his cohorts..by keeping control of the edcational outlets he controls every one...I'm not saying education is the total cure-all, but a well-educated society seem to have less problems with gangs and gang violence and other instances of violence toward others. The idea of total control of all educational outlets means the society can't grow and change, and become better. Education is a major key to peace in the world.
