Buon Giorno...and many other greetings, to my Thyroid Support Group. How this group came about is quite simple: I searched Care2's many Health and Wellness groups, I did not find anything on thyroid issues specifically soooo... I built, and I am hoping many of you will come and sit by the healing fire. Share your sorrows, joys, and other emotions on the journey of being a thyroid patient, or if you are not a patient yourself, then being a relative of someone who IS, can also exact a toll. Trust me about that---I was born hypothyroid, and my parents were my best advocates, in the face of being on the cutting edge of medical knowledge. Together, we can join, talk and raise a lot more awareness about thyroid (and related endocrine) disorders. Let's face it, peeps: There are even supposedly learned general practitioners of medicine who look at us and our relatives as though we're somehow freakish. That's ignorance for you! Sooo...let's raise the standard, people...not just for ourselves (for right now WE ARE our OWN BEST ADVOCATES!) but for the whole gosh-darn globe! The more we step forward and speak, the better off we will be. Ready, set, let's get crackin'!
