Hey Clubsters!
Tens of thousands of people have already learned the truth about coal. Despite a $40 million advertising campaign that masks the harmful and polluting nature of coal-fired power plants, people aren't falling for it. Now it's time to take the truth about coal to the masses. The Sierra Club is launching a new advertising campaign that will rebut the coal industry's misleading claims. And we need your help. Let's come up with a new slogan for coal -- one that tells the truth.

Since taking office in January 2007, Governor Sarah Palin has shown over and over that she has very little regard for protecting the environment in Alaska.
No one is closer to the oil industry than Governor Palin. Under her leadership, Alaska is suing the federal government for considering listing the Polar Bear as a threatened species even though global warming threatens its very existence. The lawsuit claims that saving the Polar Bear would cripple offshore oil and gas development in the Beaufort and Chukchi Sea, home to some of the only habitat for the bears in the United States.
Sign our petition and oppose Gov. Palin's cozy relationship with Big Oil.

The U.S. sits on less than 3 percent of the world's oil reserves. Even if we drill every corner of America, the oil will only amount to a drop in the bucket and won't have an impact on prices -- it'll only line the pockets of Big Oil. Thank House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for standing up to drilling supporters and ask her to continue moving America forward with sensible energy policies.
