Please sign this petition and add your voice to the call for preserving the Great Lakes for ours and
08/02/11

In 2007, Congress directed the Army Corps to develop a plan to separate the Great Lakes and Mississippi River ecosystems in order to prevent the infestation of Asian carp and other invasive species. But the Corps has now said that its full analysis will take significantly longer than the initial goal of 2012 and won't be completed until 2015! We cannot afford to delay on this issue, putting the Great Lakes ecosystem and the $7 billion recreational, commercial and tribal fishing industries it supports at risk. Separating the Mississippi River system from the Great Lakes is the only permanent solution and unlike other temporary measures, it is a one-time expense. Please sign this petition and add your voice to the call for preserving the Great Lakes for ours and future generations to enjoy. Help us come up with a coal slogan
12/03/08

Hey Clubsters!

Tens of thousands of people have already learned the truth about coal. Despite a $40 million advertising campaign that masks the harmful and polluting nature of coal-fired power plants, people aren't falling for it. Now it's time to take the truth about coal to the masses. The Sierra Club is launching a new advertising campaign that will rebut the coal industry's misleading claims. And we need your help. Let's come up with a new slogan for coal -- one that tells the truth.

Give us your ideas here:

Thanks! And Happy Holidays!

Palin's cozy relationship
09/23/08

Since taking office in January 2007, Governor Sarah Palin has shown over and over that she has very little regard for protecting the environment in Alaska.

No one is closer to the oil industry than Governor Palin. Under her leadership, Alaska is suing the federal government for considering listing the Polar Bear as a threatened species even though global warming threatens its very existence. The lawsuit claims that saving the Polar Bear would cripple offshore oil and gas development in the Beaufort and Chukchi Sea, home to some of the only habitat for the bears in the United States.

Sign our petition and oppose Gov. Palin's cozy relationship with Big Oil.

Show Her Some Love

Nancy PelosiThe U.S. sits on less than 3 percent of the world's oil reserves. Even if we drill every corner of America, the oil will only amount to a drop in the bucket and won't have an impact on prices -- it'll only line the pockets of Big Oil. Thank House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for standing up to drilling supporters and ask her to continue moving America forward with sensible energy policies.
