Thank you for your comment, and for joining this group. The leaders of your country were likely put under great pressure from the U.S. to join in support of the Occupation of Iraq.
Our efforts to stop the Occupation of Iraq, and to cease the escalation of intervention in Afghanistan will have to continue well after the U.S. election.
Thank you for inviting me to the group. Us danes used to be a very peacefull nation (- well, I am not talking about the vikings). But this has changed since Iraq. The danish gouverment decided jo join the war, and for the first time start a war together with the americans. Furthermore it was decided on a very small democratic base, and the other parties was against the war. I was partipitating in a demonstion against that step before the war. And I will like to keep fighting, so I am glad to join this group.
Hi everyone! My name is Liz and I live in New Mexico. Thanks for the invite, Erin! I am especially happy to have received it this weekend when we Americans remember those who have lost their lives in the name of war. I dream of Peace; I work to make it a reality.
No politician from either party is going to end this war.
It's up to us to do it. When enough of us resolve to roll up our sleeves and do the hard work and organization that is required, we can end it. I think that America is mesmerized by this presidential election circus, thinking that it is going to bring about some sort of resolution. It's not. The Democrat led congress just funded the war 6 months into the next president's term. It's time for the ordinary citizens in this country to take matters into their own hands.
What can I say. I'm an artist that has been against every war in my lifetime. I'm also against the ones before I was born and the ones that will come after I'm dead!
I'm a veteran of a thousand peace marches and in the cruelest twist my oldest son decided to become an officer in the US navy. He just returned from a tour in the gulf. I now have that much more reason to be against this war, even though I was already against it before the first boot hit the ground...
Thank you Erin, for inviting me. I am South African, now living in Portugal. I grew up under the apartheid regime, which gave me a passionate belief in justice and peace. Right now I'm focused on China and the Olympic Games. I am deeply concerned about the situation in Tibet, and in Burma, and am doing all I can for the Save Darfur campaign. My other overriding concern is to see the end of the evil dictator Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe, and to hope that that poor battered country can return to peace and stability.
I know there are many other important causes, but these are the ones I'm concentrating on at present.
I will read posts first before I jump into any threads, happy to meet all of you.
I used to think peace meant end of war. I worked toward that goal long ago, and still do. But I now work as well toward a peace that can truly manifest, because it's based on individuals. Personal peace, with or without war. Simple, real.
Glad to have found this group and thanks to who invited me. I forgot!
Read blog on my profile page if you want, called "Hippies, Freaks and Making Peace" about my own little life story. One question they ask here on our profiles is "say something about you that is wild" (something like that). For me only one answer: Being Alive. What is wilder than this?!
Hi, my name is Elizabeth and i am from Ireland. I am a yogi, pagan, bohemian, hippy type (a bit of a spiritual/political patchwork quilt) Thought it was about time i made my presence known cos' i am not usuallly so backward. Obviously Ireland has had an uphill struggle where peace is concerned but in recent years I think we have proven that it is far from impossible which is why i respect optimism so much. Too many people behave as though the world is beyond repair! I dont believe that and judging by your group I am not alone.
Thank you Erin for the compliments. I love sharing with you one more poem that I wrote a few years back.
Why the world so weary of hate,
Be it in the name of religion,
Be it in the name of a country or region,
Be it in the name of language, caste and creed?
We breath the same air,
We come out of the same mother earth,
We go back to the same mother earth,
We come and go as we breath in and out.
Why not we love each other,
as we love the fresh air,
that we breathe in and out,
without which we shall gasp for life?
Why should not we belong to each other,
As we come from the same mother earth,
And go back to the same mother earth,
Lighted and warmed up by the same Sun,
Which rise and set for us to believe its existence?
Let us all learn the art of living,
To whither away the weariness,
Convert haste into a heap of love,
To rest on each other’s laptop,
Feeling a sense of belonging to each other,
Which we hitherto longed for and eluded us.

My name is R. Ramachandran Nair and I live now at Trivandrum, Kerala State, India. I have two grown up and well settled children and through them four grandchildren. I am a lawyer by education but for decades worked as a Management Executive / Administrator for prestigious Medical Institutes and Hospitals in India. I am influenced by Mahatma Gandhi and his contemporaries like J. C. Kumarappa. I am a Peace Activist right from my teenage. I wish to live long to see peace in this world. Following poem of mine published in my book "DOVE OF PEACE" will speak for itself.
I wish I lived long
I wish I lived long,
to see peace in the world,
already weary of hate and wars,
blown hot and cold by seasonal wind.
I wish to live not to see wars,
but the warmthness of love and affection,
mankind always longed for to live long,
before the death knocked at one’s doorstep.
I wish to live not to get wounded,
but to wind up my life after living to its full length,
fulfilling my worldly obligations as a whole,
to leave behind for children a world worth living.
I wish to live a life worth living,
not in hospital beds but happy homes,
with kith and kin around,
dancing with joy as life gets unwounded.
Will the world leaders help me,
and the mankind as a whole,
to live in a world of wonders,
and not wars weary hell I abhor?
I love to learn the art of living,
and not the art of dying,
to make this world worth living,
and help the mortal towards
the exit for immortality.

I am Hippie Niecey. I just became a member of this group, and I live in Batavia, New York. I am very much for peace, love and unity and all of that. I am a child of the 60's and consider myself to be a Hippie. I love all of the styles and trends of that era. It means alot to belong to a group like this. I have looked for this kind of group for some time. Thanks for having me!
Hi Erin and everyone, Erin thank you for inviting me, I am an artist and a lightworker. I believe we have to somehow survive one more year of dangerous, destructive, even criminal leadership in the US-hopefully without another war. Anything I can do to help, from signing petitions to group meditations. to spreading the word to friends and family is what I do. My hope is that it does make a difference.

Hello All! December 13, 2007 9:23 PM
........joining you from Brunei Darussalam "The Abode Of Peace". Thanks for the invite, Erin....glad to be part of this group.
Ok Erin, I made it. I promise to be real nice and sound level headed...... Yea right. To all else, Erin noticed a comment I made in Voice for Peace and thought I needed to join here as well. Thanks again Erin! Did you share that comment with those here? You should have... I'll check tomorrow and if it hasn't shown up yet, I'll go fetch it. Getting late, must sleep .....zzzzzzzzz
Self Introduction - DAN 1 November 18, 2007 1:10 PM
My gratitude to Erin for inviting me to the Peace Activists Center. It is an honor to be a member and in association with all of you.
I am a male, 62 year old Narbarian "wannabe" that lives peacefully and becomes "active" occasionally in the American political scene, reaching out to "kindred Spirits" and signing petitions here at Care 2. This is called "working within" the Mother Culture, as opposed to "working without", where I concentrate on building a New and Better Culture for Humanity and Mother Earth outside of, or on the edge of, mainstream society.
Currently, "working within" I am trying to influence the formation of the Third Party Coalition. In an effort to keep the platform simple and agreeable, the goal for the Third Party Coalition is merely to run Al Gore and RFK Jr for the presidency and vice-presidency in 2008. The idea being to deny victory to the corrupt Democrat/Republican Two Party Axis that has such a powerful grip on the lives of We The People of America.
This is an experiment that seeks to find out how ready We The People are to assume responsibility for their nation's government. Technology has brought us to where we can be the captains of our national destiny through active study and consideration of the issues of Our Land and then Voting Our Will for its benefit.
In order to help determine Our readiness, I have sent an invitation to 49 Third Parties of America, to form a coalition that will run Al Gore and RFK Jr. After two weeks from the initial sending, I have only received a reply from two parties. They are the Pot Party and the American Reform Party. Both have indicated support for the coalition idea.
I will come here as often as i can to read and learn from all of you. The wish of a beautiful day to all of you. Thank you again Erin.
Thanks for the invitation Erin! I'm glad to be here! Greetings for all !

Hey and welcome, everyone . Sorry I haven't been much of a co-host lately . Hope you find the group informative , helpful and that it does , as I personally believe , do justice to John's memory .
I want to thank you Erin, for the invite into this great group. I joined care2 in 1996 or 97, but being so new to the computer world, I had no idea of everything that was actually here. So I lost interest and got into other things like hosting game tournaments and creating animations.
My other names are "WordWitch" and "WenchyWytch", and many call me "Witchypoo", (which is what I sign my work with).
I am looking forward to working as a group to get things done! If my health was better, I would be one of those people out there marching, but if I can do what I can from my computer and make a difference... then so be it.
Our world is in a big pickle, right now. So let's get busy!
I haven't ben around much, I joined Care2 2 days before this group started but have been going through some major things that have prevented me from being active (surgery, an emergency move, homelessness...). I am committed in several forums, mostly of the spiritual nature, but hope to be able to spend more time here. Peace and Love is the only way we are going to get out of this mess! Bless you All.
I don't believe I've introduced myself yet. Hi. I'm Polly. No one else my age cares about this kind of stuff, except for a few of my friends and myself.

I was around when our late John asked us to "Imagine" and "Give Peace a Chance"
All I seem to have read about this week is kids gunning down other kids, people being killed for standing up for themselves and troops who have lost their limbs as a result of an idiots paranoia being given less respect and care than a typist who strained her finger
Hope George and Tony sleep well at night - and John we need you more than ever
Thank you, Erin, for inviting me to this group. You, Archie, and others like you, many of whom I see are members here, have reawakened my faith in mankind. I cannot thank you all enough.
I was not yet born when John Lennon shared his wisdom with the world, but his message was so strong that it became his legacy. When I was young, and nieve, every time I heard his music, I felt that everything was going to be ok. How could they not be, with people like him around? But time, and the lessons of life and school, eventually led me to give up on the dream of peace. So, like many others, I rode on the bandwagon of life for many years, seeing the dream of peace as just that, nothing but a dream. But always his words have brought tears to my eyes, and kept the hope fluttering in my heart of hearts.
Now I know that peace has not failed. We have failed peace. And I know why. Now, it is the Star Spangled Banner that makes me cry.
I cannot go on playing the game, knowing what the future holds for our children if we do not change our perceptions. Knowing the role my country has played in the corruption of society around the world. Our country, my homeland. Some can cling to roots in other countries, giving them a margin of escapability, of comfort. I am a Native American. This is my only country, my only home, my reponsibility, my shame.
My dearest hope, and greatest drive right now, is to put Dennis and Elizabeth Kucinich in the White house to lead our country, and the world by their example, so society can begin to change it's perceptions, it's path, and what the people see as possible. They have rekindled my hope for peace.
They may say we are dreamers, but it is just another label, used to dismiss us. Here, we see that we are not alone. Here, you have gathered the tools, and the wisdom we need. Together, we will make Mr. Lennon's vision of peace a reality.
I remember the days of John Lennon and the Beatles very well. At that time, I thought we were headed for peace, love and compassion. Ok, it hasn't exactly worked out that way, but I still "Imagine" and haven't given up hope. Thanks so much for inviting me to this great group.

You may say I'm a DREAMER...but I'm not the only one.... June 16, 2007 11:55 AM
Thank you for the invite, Erin! It's great to be a part of not only a group honoring a man of such wisdom & out-spoken beliefs, but a group also imagining there WILL be a day....where PEACE will prevail.

Being an Activist June 16, 2007 8:29 AM
To me, being an activist means taking action. Doing something concrete. That is why I started www.clickshopsupport.org where people can begin all their online shopping and have the merchant rebate up to 25% to nonprofits that support peace. We are raising some big money for some big groups that have a lot of power to effect change.

Thanks for the invitation Erin March 29, 2007 8:30 AM
Many of you on this thread have already said so well exactly how I feel there is little else for me to add at this point other than I am one more person here standing with you.
I'm proud to be a part of this group. Thanks for the invite Erin.
And thanks for bringing John Lennon back into focus. The intent of this group is to carry on John's vision for peace and to confront the problems facing our world today the way he would, with words, with music, and with action. And with love...
John Lennon did a lot more than just talk about peace and sing about peace. He was an activist. He lived for peace and he worked for peace and that's why he was monitored and harrassed by the FBI...
Here, we want to work for peace. And we want to do it with a good attitude and take time for music, art , poetry, and never lose our sense of humor. We're still small enough to know each other, and as we grow we all have an opportunity to make this group special.
Thanks for the invite too. John Lennon was great and his inspiration lives on. A peace sign to all and looking forward to doing what I can for peace everywhere. Rodger
Thank you for the invite, Archie. I don't get over to the boards much. I'm a fulltime student/intern/mom/grandma, but I do feel passionate about what is going on in the world. With my limited time and resources I do whatever I can.
Archie for the invite to peace activist center.. It's a very nice feeling to inspire one another to promote more peace in this world. Peace to all.
A song dedicate to the group.. ~Heal The World~
There’s a place in your heart And I know that it is love And this place could be much Brighter than tomorrow And if you really try You’ll find theres no need to cry In this place you’ll feel There’s no hurt or sorrow
There are ways to get there If you care enough for the living Make a little space Make a better place...
*Chorus
Heal the world Make it a better place For you and for me And the entire human race There are people dying If you care enough For the living Make a better place For you and for me
If you want to know why There’s a love that cannot lie Love is strong It only cares for joyful giving If we try we shall see In this bliss we cannot feel fear or dread We stop existing and start living
Then it feels that always Loves enough for us growing So make a better world Make a better world...
*Chorus
And the dream we were conceived in Will reveal a joyful face And the world we once believed in Will shine again in grace Then why do we keep Strangling life, wound this earth, crucify its soul Though its plain to see this world is heavenly Be gods glow
We could fly so high Let our spirits never die In my heart, I feel you are all my brothers Create a world with no fear Together we cry happy tears See the nations turn their swords into plowshares
We could really get there If you cared enough for the living Make a little space to make a better place...

Ms. C,
Glad you joined! It's great to have you as part of the group.
As you know, I've long been an activist in areas related to peace ... but as my kids enter high school, I find myself more and more involved in countering deceptive military recruitment. I look forward to learning from others here, and occasionally tossing my own two pennies into the mix.
Thank you for sending an invitation, Archie. Although I'm not as active on Care2 as I once was, I do still check in and this group sounds awesome. I'm very honored to be here.
Thanks for putting this together, Archie. I just now noticed this group; would have joined earlier had I known of it. Roughly two-thirds of my official "friends" are members here already, and this looks to be a great group in which to build some collective good will and significant activism....let's all get together and Do Stuff. Looking forward to it!
I have loved John Lennon and the Beatles practically all of my life. When I first began playing guitar, guess what music I started with? ...THE BEATLES!
It was terrible what happened to him...Just imagine the amazing music he could have made...The talent that was lost. The loving soul who lost his life.

Dear Archie and Group:
Thank you for inviting me to your group. I genuinely appreciate your courage in doing so. I understand that my "situation" can be very unnerving and unsettling for many--so, I especially appreciate the commitment to peace, social justice and human & civil rights.
Hi everyone! I missed the hippie boat the first time...I was a bit too young. My parents refused to let me hitchhike to Woodstock at age six after seeing The Who on the Smother's Brothers. I guess I'm living my second hippie-hood. It is wonderful to find a group who believes in the same values they did in their youth. A rarity with "adults." I take pride in the sticker given to me by my teen-age son (Eric Cartman from South Park) proclaiming:
"You're all a bunch of filthy, tree-hugging hippies!!!!"
Yorkshire, eh ? Well, ayup theear, Ange. Heh. Sorry about that. I'm not mocking you. I have a close friend in Ilkley and ancestors from Whitby. Beautiful place. Welcome to the group.

Thanks to Archie's invitation, I've joined this group and I'm glad to be a part of it.
I think that peace of mind is one of the most important things for a human being, that's what I try to keep everyday! And as long as we find our inner peace, we can spread it all over, or at least, we can help to stop spreadding violence.
I hope I can learn and to give a lot, thanks for letting me be a part of this group!
Thank you so much for inviting me to join your group Archie. I think any group working for peace is a worthwile place to be. I look forward to getting to know people in here and I already see several friends.

We are honored to have you. Thank you for accepting my invitation. We are a brand new group, but we hope to become an important member of the care2 peace community. And it is heartwarming to see such cool people joining us.
Dear Archie,
Thank you for inviting me to the group. I see such beautiful people here and I hope that I will able to contribute the group. I am a firm believer of Peace and Justice for all. I am a member of ISM and recently I met few CPT members in West Bank. It was abond of mutual understanding as we all feel we need PEACE now!!
Once again thank you.
Peace

It seems like times change, but the issues don't. As I point out from time to time in my environmental group, we have to keep fighting the same battles over and over again. That can get to be disheartening until you accept the fact that it's just part of living. Is it disheartening to breathe or to sleep, or to make breakfast every morning and go to work?
Thanks for the invite! Seems like another cool group, am not sure how you keep up so well! Me- An old hippie chick protester from back in the late 60's. An old friend of mine from those days actually 36 years ago when we first met was just here in Berkeley for a visit. We talked about some crazy days and his "underground publications" WE were there for Vietnam and now again there is no better reason or time for a change that is needed!!!
Bush is nuts and so are his buds, It scares me to think that North Korea will be the next killing field
thank-you so much Archie for the invite!wow most of my friends are here already, and new ones I haven't meet yet. I'm looking forwardf to getting to know you!

Hello everyone,
My name is Jeanete I am so honored to be part of this group. It has opened my eyes even farther. John Lennon was my mothers favorite. She is longer with me, but everytime I hear John sing, it brings back all the wonderful times we had together. I promise to be diligent in my efforts here and in all areas of supporting "whirled peas" LOL.
You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. Jeanete
Pleng, my good friend, thank you for introducing yourself to the group. I am so glad you joined. I know that you are trulya person of peace; you live your life in the spirit of peace and you will be an asset to our group.
Thanks for the invite ,Erin,as you said I should spread my idea to others peace' friends.
We all have the same destination, no matter of race, religion, rich, poor, educated, non educated ect: no one can avoid it. Why can't we all live together with "Peace" this is my hope.
I can see so many friends are here already...thanks for the invite. Like everyone here I am passionate about peace. This last 15 months have been the greatest challenge after my daughter was murdered by terrorists in the London Bombs. She was as great a peace lover as I have ever known. It is my privilege to continue her work and try to shine the light of peace into some of the darkest corners. Maybe I am a dreamer... But I am not the only one. It is great to be here.

Perhaps if I reword, rephrase,or reask my question we might receive more replies? I came across the word GLOBALIZATION recently.,so maybe the more appropriate question might be Are you all for Globalization, and what does it mean to you,and how have you been effected in your daily lives by Globalization.,and perhaps from here,we may address the question of how to stop terrorism?
I have typed this in another forum, and will retype it.
"Critics of Globalization forget that free trade fosters prosperity and know almost nothing about its most important benefits-its tendency to PREVENT WAR. Quantitative studies have shown that trade fosters peace both directly,by reducing the risk of military conflict and indirectly,by promoting prosperity and democracy.
In Which countries are females put down the most? n which countries are Doctors,Scientists, and Educators NOT given their rights and tortured? What are their governments like? If this occurs to the people most educated, what would it be for their "uneducated.scholasticallywise."(but not by life-experience,for they have much more life experience than some of us in peaceful countries.)what would it be for them born in so-called caste systems? Which systems of government would give them more opportunities for education?
While some people think of globalization as primarily a synonym for global business,it is much more than that. The same forces that allow businesses to operate as if national borders did not exist, also allow social activists, labor organizers, journalists, academics, and many others to work on a global stage. http://globalization.about.com/cs/whatisit/a/whatisit.htm and why is multi-cultural-education important? http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~jar/Multi.html As I personally experienced it,Multicultural education both in national schools, and in the home is GOOD.,it helps my children appreciate and understand other people and their culture, and hopefully,I wish, the next coming generations of children will grow with more peaceful intentions and goals.
Moving right along....Welcome to those who've just joined. This is looking better and better. Glad I'm a part of it.

"They believe that if they can create enough chaos, the American people will grow sick and tired of the Iraqi effort and will cause government to withdraw," he said.
If THEY can create enough chaos? Oh, that's good. That's very good....
"There is one thing we will not do. We will not pull out our troops from Iraq before the terrorists are defeated."

Not too early to start planning a local street politix demonstration in your area to mark the sad benchmark approaching of 3,000 KIA in Iraq. It will probably occur in NOV-DEC. Make some noise, don't let them forget.

Kathy,
Welcome to the group! We're just getting started but I think we're on to something great!
This group is only four days old. A lot of people have joined so far. They are really among the coolest and nicest people on care2, or anywhere. There is a wndow of opportunity here for everybody who is joining to jump in and set the stage for what is to come. Whatever you would like this group to be, here is your chance to make it real.
For everyone who has joined so far-- let's roll up our sleeves and work together to bring peace to the world we live in, all the countries we live in. As Marc Gartman pointed out this morning, it has to start within, and then you have to communicate it to the people closest to you, and then it can spread from one person to another throughout the world...
Is that a lot to hope for from a care2 group? Yeah...
But the opportunity is here. Jump in and make this group make a difference.
Hi EVERYONE. I am Joseph from Cortland, NY and am a LONG time fan of PEACE. Glad to be here and I am glad to meet all of you cool folks here.

Welcome everyone great to have you all here! October 19, 2006 4:08 PM
Some of you I already know
LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING TO KNOW THE REST OF YOU
LOOK under the "declassified" topic for results and reactions of the show on "history " channel aabout JOHN LENNON and his battle to keep from being doported for his being a peace activist !
one of my sisters on care two invited me and I always join any group she asks me to join..She is a wise and wonderful friend, so how am I going to argue with that?
Archie, this is a very positive group and thank you for starting it.
Thanks for the invitation, Archie...I got sidetracked and didn't join immediately when I got the invite. I knew there would be somebody here by now but didn't expect this many It's great to see such a response.
Thanks for the invite Archie. This group resonates with how I feel.
Doris...I just checked the petition for Debbie and as of this morning there are 3522 signatures. Congratulations on all your hard work !!! Nine red hearts for you!!!
If anyone's looking for some opportunities for activism, check out Jane's link to the Washington Peace Foundation, above...
If you really want to impeach Bush, start by turning out the Republicans on November 7th. That means it's time to Register if you haven't already done so...
Thank you for the invitation, Debbie...I feel like I just fell back into the 60's in a wonderful way - w/people who actually believe Peace is possible - Give peace a chance.. ..I so want to see it in my life time....I plan to live to 120 so there is time yet! First, Bush,et.al has to go...impeachment is preferable, so I'm banking on everyone voting on November 7th. I can not tell you how tired I am of neo-con propaganda, stupidity, and lies. What a wonderful group - I was meant to live in the late 60's cause I never left in view of my political beliefs...liberal, liberal, liberal and proud of it. And that's saying something in RR, TX. IMAGINE a world living in peace - first, we have to stop building WALLS...that's hard to imagine seeing how it's happening in my state right now. When I joined Care2, I was going to relax and be non-political, and now look at me, I'm ready to an activist - I just want peace to flow I've signed everything so far - I'm ready and willing! Jennie B. ((( ))))

You signed this petition at: 8:25 PM PST, Nov 21, 2005
Maybe there's 13 people here that haven't signed it yet (hint, hint...) If everybody pitches in, you could have your 13 sigs by morning. Wouldn't it be cool if you could tell Debbie you got her signitures on the new Peace Activist Group?
Archie and all friends, hello! October 16, 2006 9:07 PM
... what a wonderful thread, wonderful people, and the most important cause for a wonderful group
... how does it feel to be one of those BEAUTIFUL people!??? (lalalallalaa)
... it FEELS GREAT!
I'll join you in a few days, very happy for the invitation - you see, I just need to finish this unfinished business first: a year ago (how long must it take!!!) Debbie has put up a petition for a new investigation into the case of her missing mom - new facts and circumstances have shown up... I've been working all my spare time this weekend, and now there are only 13 signatures more to the goal - when they are on the list, I'll be here! (I'll just hide the address to the petition here in small print, hope no one takes offense, just in case you want to take a lookhttp://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/875659879 )
Thanks for the invite, Archie...I wouldn't miss THIS party for anything!
I write letters to the editor of my small town rag and have been accused of being a Bush hater by the local republicans and the religious righteous. My next letter to them will have to set them straight. I don't hate Bush, I hate what he stands for...which would be WAR. I would like to help the prez out of his fog, though. Oops, that's not peaceful, maybe an enema would be best. Just joking, in my risque way.
Archie I'm honored to be asked to join this great group of informed and eager peace keepers. It's time for peace we have to take control of this situation now before it's to late.I'm with people all over this world looking for a peaceful solution and now with the net we can share information .Lets do it!!! Happy to join Sandra

You always see things clearly. You're a good presence on care2, and I'm glad you joined us.
I hope everyone who has joined so far will invite a couple of friends and help our new group get off to a good start. I think we could accomplish some good things here.
Thanks for the invite. I agree with Marc. People all over the world, from all walks of life are waking up to the fact war is not the answer. It is up to the people to promote peace, it is obvious that the US government has failed to provide it. They have done just the opposite.

Linda, Wolfgram, Brent, and Marc! Thanks for joining.
I think the question of how to defend against "terrorism" is a good one for this group to discuss. I could anticipate that defining that word might generate a long debate, too. I think that the experience of the US and Israel of going after "terrorists" with full military might has been proven to be both wrong and ineffective...
I agree with Marc that the tide is turning and the time is ripe for effective anti-war activism. Anyone on this planet with an ounce of common sense can see that events are spinning out of control. The time is right for some fresh thinking on these issues, and everyone's ideas will be welcome in this group.
Hi Archie and friends, thanks for the invite. I think peace is now a more realistic possibility then ever before. It is not anymore the choice between peace, or fighting, but the choice is now Peace, or Extinction. I hope people think before they let others make the choice for them.
Glad to be part of this group, in this time and this world, doing my part.
Thanks Archie for the invitation October 16, 2006 11:42 AM
I see many people here I know from my groups already.
Anything with peace and dedicated to John Lennon while we are in the month of his birthday is good enough for me to be honored for being asked to be a part of.
And that's a great clip Debbie posted. Thank you, my friend
It's great to see that this group is getting off to such a good start. I hope everyone will take the time to check out all the links that people have posted. Harmony just posted a list of Peace Activist Organizations with links to each one. This is a great resource. Thanks, Harmony!
Thanks for joining! We're going to set this group up similar to the Roadless group, so it will feel comfortable for everybody-- we'll have news, information, discussions and petitions, and everyone should feel free to contribute what they wish to.
And I can tell already it's going to be a great group of people.
and thanks, Archie, for the invitation! It's always good to surround oneself with peace-minded people who love nature!
I have always been a peace activist, since before I could walk! Someday, I truly believe, peace will prevail!
I'm glad to be here! Maria

Now the joint is rockin! I'm glad you could make it! If Arlene is here the FBI can't be far behind.... but that's okay because we want them to know we're gonna end their damn war! And Bush and Cheney better put their lawyers on speed-dial....
Welcome Launi, Thanks for joining. Carpal tunnel is nasty. I deal with it myself. Wear your splints!
Forgive me if I don't post too often for a bit. Was hanging some planters from the ceiling and all the twisting to install the hooks caused carpel tunnel inflamation. Very frustrating for a gourd crafter.
Hello Archie and friends Archie knows me very well and knows my passion for peace. I spend alot of time on political groups, signing petitions, calling my Congressmen and writing letters to the editor,we must stop this God foresaken war and bring our troops home! Once we accomplish this maybe we'll have new leadership who will bring peace to the rest of the world by Diplomacy and bilateral talks! I feel that this administration is directly responsible for causing all the turmoil and killing in the Middle east! DOWN WITH BUSH AND HIS NEOCON CRONIES!

Thankyou for the invite! Since the first time I heard John Lennon's song Imagine, it has been my theme song, and I have the lyrics on my billboard here at Care2.
Together, we can create a peaceful world when we visualize it, believing & knowing the world "will live as One."
May Peace & Love fill each heart, Overflowing to fill the World...
I started this group as a spinoff from my environmental activist group because we were dealing with anti-war issues a lot, but I wanted to give it more attention. Our John Lennon thread that Doris started resonated so strong with our members that I felt there was a need for a new group.
So welcome to our new group and let us know who you are!
