Can 2 geese be in love? September 02, 2006 6:44 AM

I came across that question while surfing the groups. My answer would be yes thay can. For the past 7 months I have lived in a place that is on a city lake. I share it with hundreds of pure and interbred ducks and geese. Because I feed them, I have come to know each one and their extended families. These birds mate for life and everyyear lay their eggs in the same location. These guys, many of whom have known no other place but this lake, run around together like human families do. One couple ahd their hatchlings under my bedroom window in the bush. Since I am the one who chased off the other scavengers, I am somewhat part of their family. I don't know what you would call fighting to the death to protect your mate. I think ther is a very definite and observable love relationship among the families. mary g  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
