Hi, Stuart. Where is the rest of the crowd?  [report anonymous abuse]
Hi kids November 07, 2006 7:11 PM

not here yet.. and Kathy.. LOL.. I felt guilty as soon as I wrote that.. but I was so perturbed when I read some of that silly stuff..   sometimes our mouths get the best of us don't they..  and I did write the rant on my blog..  Honesty and all that it entails..  People can be so heinous  and horrid  and try to excuse it in the name of being honest that it just infuriates me,..

Welcome aboard everyone..   and Kathy I would love your help here..  anyone who has questions, if you know an answer please feel free to pop one up.. I am also writing some faqs for doing various things that Rebecca m is helping with..  if you  like doing that kind of thing jump on in..

thank you Robbi for the invitation!!  [report anonymous abuse]
You're all welcome November 07, 2006 7:52 PM

and I am so gratified to see you here.
Everyone has something to offer and I don't know about you all, but I've still got a lot to learn.
care2 is such a dynamic place, with so many changes and ways to interact that it takes a lot to keep abreast with all that goes on..
Sharing what we know about how to navigate around all of the new things only makes good sense.

Robbi - I put this in the wrong thread, so I'm repeating it here.  Thanks for the invitation - cool idea for a group.  [ send green star]
Hi guys November 07, 2006 10:45 PM

and Elizabeth I am always happy to see you in any group I belong to.. welcome..
LOL.. anyone who knows the answer to the questions feel free to post them..   I will paste the image questions in the other thread as well.

the "pressing" matter was that I dropped an iron on my foot.. to be honest..

   clumsy to the end..LOL..
I just spent the hour in the emergency room getting xrays..  and came home with a doctors excuse to not work for two days..  crutches and two ace wraps.. in the morning when the radiologist checks the pics I will know if theres a break in the metatarsal.. LOLOL..
now since I am self employed, doing  computer rebuilding and networking and have no employees to help with the  cat rescue except Rebecca.. and told him that..
I wonder who he thought I should show the excuse TO??

do you think if I show the Dr's excuse to the cats they will serve themselves breakfast and clean their own ears tomorrow??

To add the smiley images November 07, 2006 10:48 PM

when you hit the reply to topic button.. there are buttons across the top.. you need to click on the smile one.. open the folder and explore til you find the one you want.. then simply copy paste the word, or code as it were, which will look like..
into your post and preview it to be sure that the code is being translated.
an other option is to find one that you like and upload it to somewhere like photobucket.. then click the little picture icon and paste the url to your picture in the box that crops up and the image wll show up for you..
There are some groups which do not permit the html codes to be used.
In those groups you don't have the emoticon option..or I believe the image option either.

Tony November 07, 2006 10:50 PM

are you right clicking on the image.  that will give you the option to view it and save it..  left clicking should not take you anywhere at all..     [ send green star]
Tony November 07, 2006 10:58 PM

To add an image to the testimonial, you will need to make the html code in there that calls the image in.. much like on a web page.
it will look like this
< img src= >
I had to leave the spaces between the arrows and the code so that the code didn't try to work and would show you how it was done..  when you use it.. there is no space between the < and the img src..

LOL if that makes an ounce of sense to you.

Hi, Robbi.  I'm far from a 'puter wiz, but I am willing to help where and when I can.  I still have to ask people, too.  Glad to be here.  [ send green star]

Thanks for the invite Robbi, and for creating the group. great idea!  [ send green star]
Hello... November 09, 2006 4:48 PM

...thanks for the invite!

I have that same emoti problem (when they work at all, which they don't at the moment) that tony and someone else I just get a chime when I click on the link...but for maybe a year previous to this current problem I had a very similar problem. I was allowed three, maybe four emotis in a row then poof...white page and message all gone! I never wrote up a service report because that just gives me high BP!

HI Jeff and Hello D November 09, 2006 5:15 PM

Thank you to both of you for joining.

Dee I haven't used muliple emoticons in one message.. Is that whats happening still??
If it is I can try to recreate the error and see if theres a way to get around it.

anyone at all who knows the answer to something November 09, 2006 5:19 PM

Please jump in and try to help.. Two heads are always better than one..
I'll get the faqs and step by step things set in for the profile pics and the billboards thread.. if you have anything to add or see anything I've missed, could you please post it..  If you are particularly good at one aspect or another of the profiles or group setup feel free to post a thread for that.. and taking it one step at a time for the newer folks. tell them how to set up their group..
Thanks so much for being here and for trying to help..

I'm looking forward to interacting with you a bit more.

Weird...! November 09, 2006 6:27 PM

I can't use the font colors or background colors in addition to the emoticons. I get the musical clunk sound when I click on them.

Sorry to confuse...I have the new problem as described above right now. I previously had the multiple emoti white- screen- disappearing- message problem.

 [ send green star]
 November 09, 2006 6:29 PM

Maybe it is some sort of cumulative thing that is getting worse??   [ send green star]
the musical clunk November 09, 2006 6:53 PM

is most likely a windows error message from your own computer.
They do a little icky sound when we have something that doesn't do what its supposed to when we click it..
What exactly are you doing? Is it in this group, or in your profile that you aren't able to use your emoticons and font colors?
 [ send green star]
 November 09, 2006 9:37 PM

I suspected it might be my own computer as I have it overloaded with a lot of stuff I've neglected to download. I have alot of photos.

I can't use the emotis in any message in any group. And in trying to recall how long this has been happening it might coincide with when I uploaded a bunch of new photos!

Hi Robbi and good folk, hehehe Dee, i don't have any problems with bolds, fonts, colors, or downloading pics into threds, but i used to use emotiz a lot in Whale Sense but ever since moving to Whale Call Cafe itz been happening ~ so i'm too afraid to grab a smiley anymore, coz hey, i write quite lengthy threds half the time and don't it pee you off after you've spent heapz of time doing a post and you want to give someone a rainbow or hug and you end up with a bluddy white page with a grinning smiley giving you a hug beneath a lovely bright rainbow lol

I've also had the odd glitch in creating news items ~ several times i've posted news and it doesn't show up on the news page and i think oh, someone else has done this post and forget about it ~ but after a while i began looking for the other possible posts but couldnt find them ~ then another time i posted a news item and it got thru after someone else had posted it ~ guess i should scan the latest news first eh ~ i appologized to the lady ~~

I have used multiple emoti's in a post both in a message and in a row.  No problems here.  All I do is click on the little smiley face, open the folder I want, scroll down to the one I want, click "copy" and go back to my message and "click" paste.  If I want to put multiples of the same I just hit "space" and "click" paste again.
