This care2 group exists to support Special Olympics.  We support and commend all of the families and friends of these wonderful people.  We support the 2.5 million people with intellectual disabilities in 108 countries around the world that Special Olympics serve.  If you haven't visited their website at SpecialOlympics.Org  I urge you to.  Take time to read thru all of their different pages.  Read their mission and vision statements and allow yourself to feel good knowing you support the people that support them!

That all being said brings me to the reason for writing this today.  When care2 gave me this group back in March of this year, it was overrun with trolls and spambots.  Today we have a great team of cohosts here that have made this a nice place to visit again. 

This group isn't for debating politics or religion or anything else.  I don't care if you're vegan or a meat eater.  I don't care if you're gay or straight or neither, or any of a number of other topics.  There are plenty of other groups on care2 that support any of those causes or groups that seem to thrive on the emotions of people with opposing viewpoints.  There are a lot of great causes, and a lot of petitions supporting many different things.  There are groups and places for all of those too.  The Special Olympics Group is not one of them. 

I mean this in the nicest of way possible,  however passionate you are about a certain thing, unless it is somehow group related, don't bring it here.  Or if you do, expect a delete notice in your message box.
