Hi.  I'm an editor of a children's art and nature magazine.  Part of my job is researching different animals and their habitats, and the more I learn about nature the more I fall in love with all of it.  My family and I used to take walks in the park (the kids are all grown up now) and feed the ducks.  We also watched them in the wild on our walks along the river.  I just think it is so cool to interact with animals in one way or another.  Nature is so special!

Sorry, couldn't find a duck emoticon.  Oh well.

Oh thank you , Jill.   That did make my day.  I was having one of "those" days, and I needed some laughter.

Oh my I am so sorry Jean....I welcomed Marie and Patty instead of Marie and Jean.   I am losing my mind I guess.  I am so happy you are here with us.

Jill, that is so funny about the cat and the teeth.  lol

Hi, my name is mary g and Camilla Erikksen suggested this group because I used to live on a lake in OKC with hundreds of geese and ducks that frequented my patio.  I have a lot of their pictures which I can share.  I do not have any of them as pets.  I have two cats and now live in St Louis where I am NOT on a lake any longer.  I used to blog about my experiences with my feathered friends and If I can find the address to that blog which I have neglected since moving, I will be glad to post it.  I loved them all and named most of those dear to my heart.  I am glad to be here.  I hope this includes geese also.

Here is the address to my old blog.  It has a lot of information about geese and ducks on a day  to day perosnal experience and you may enjoy it even if it is old.  I moved away fromOKC at the end of 2007 and the blog sort of ended.  But it may provide some entertainment for those who do not necessarily look at date.

WELCOME TO OUR GROUP

Hello Mary and welcome to the group!   We are so glad to have you as our newest member and yes you most definitely post about geese!   I'm sure Lee won't mind.   Hey they have feathers.  lol   Sounds like you lived in a wonderful place surrounded by your feathered friends and I know you must miss it terribly and especially the geese.   I grow so attached to animals that I feed and interact with.    We can't wait to see your photos!   I have a suggestion, why don't you open 2 separate threads....one for your photos (we can add to it also if you don't mind) and the other thread for your blog.  That way we can read and make comments or ask questions.   Jump right in and read, write or whatever.

Thanks Jill for being the first to welcome Mary!

Thanks guys.  The photo thread I can do, but the blog ended when I moved to St Louis.  If you wish to read the adventures on the lake, you might do best to go to the link.  Also the blogs start at the bottom of the pages and proceed upwards.  I can no longer access the ability to write in it because when Google bought out blogspot, they didn't take the blogs along if the emails didn't match the current ones.  I had a different email then when I wrote it and now that it is changed, I can no longer access it through blogspot to ad to it.  But it is still available to read.

Hi Mary,

Of course, we love geese and coots and herons and all sorts of water birds (and shore birds and song birds...Oh heck I like most any kind of feathered people).

We're so glad to have you in our group.  I can't wait to read your blog.

So good to see you at last, Bella!   Thank you for joining.   These stupid computers are getting on my last nerve, too.   If you can give the link where the graphic is you wanted to post I'll see if it'll work for me.
