Call Wendy's at 800-443-7266, ext. 2032 and ask for a switch to cage-free eggs, then send a follow-up email here.
Wendy's attitude toward animal welfare is, well...frosty. After months of discussions with The HSUS, the company is still lagging behind its competitor, Burger King, when it comes to reducing cruelty to egg-laying hens.
In March, Burger King began phasing in the use of cage-free eggs. Yet all of the eggs that Wendy's uses come from birds crammed in cages so tiny they can barely move.
That's why it's critical that Wendy's hears from you! Tell Wendy's to follow in Burger King's modest footsteps and start moving away from eggs from caged hens. Call Wendy's at 800-443-7266, ext. 2032, then send a follow-up email here.
POINTS TO REMEMBER
- Battery-cage eggs are produced by cruelly confining hens in barren cages too small for the birds even to spread their wings.
- The least Wendy's should do to reduce animal cruelty in its supply chain is to follow in Burger King's footsteps and implement the same modest improvements that Burger King has already made.
Please also let your friends and family know how they can help, too. Thank you for all you do for animals!Wayne Pacelle
