“If we want to keep these freedoms, we may have to fight again. God forbid, but if we do, let’s always fight to win…Face the flag, son…and thank God it’s still there.” – John Wayne

"Training is needed in order to love properly; and to be able to give happiness and joy, you must practice DEEP LOOKING directed toward the other person you love. Because if you do not understand this person, you cannot love properly. Understanding is the essence of love." - Thict Naht Hanh

“To meditate is to look deeply into the nature of things, including our own nature and the nature of the person in front of us. When we see the true nature of that person, we discover his or her difficulties, suffering and anxieties. We can sit down, hold our partner’s hand, look deeply at him or her, and say, “Darling, do I understand you enough? Do I water your seeds of suffering? Do I water your seeds of joy? Please tell me how I can love you better.” If we say this from the bottom of our heart, he may begin to cry, and that’s a good sign.
True love includes the sense of responsibility, accepting the other person as he is, with all his strengths and weaknesses. If we like only the best things in the person, that is not love. We have to accept his or her weaknesses and bring our patience, understanding, and energy to help him transform. The expression ‘long-term commitment’ helps us understand the word love. In the context of true love, commitment can only be long-term. ‘I want to love you. I want to help you. I want to care for you. I want you to be happy. I want to work for happiness. But just for a few days.' Does this make sense?”

“Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts. Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us.”
- Marianne Williamson

"Three passions have governed my life:
The longings for love, the search for knowledge,
And unbearable pity for the suffering of [humankind].
Love brings ecstasy and relieves loneliness.
In the union of love I have seen
In a mystic miniature the prefiguring vision
Of the heavens that saints and poets have imagined.
With equal passion I have sought knowledge.
I have wished to understand the hearts of [people].
I have wished to know why the stars shine.
Love and knowledge led upwards to the heavens,
But always pity brought me back to earth;
Cries of pain reverberated in my heart
Of children in famine, of victims tortured
And of old people left helpless.
I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot,
And I too suffer.
This has been my life; I found it worth living."

One interesting observation :
The Junk Yard Dog barks at you as you walk by.
But it is not the Junk Yard Dogs fault that he has spent his life chained to a post.
Love that Junk Yard Dog more than you love the others,
as much as that Junk Yard Dog will allow you to Love them,
for it is that dog, that needs your love the most, having been loved the least.
No one can make me Love them,
but when I understand a Life, then I Love that Life,
So far, Every Life.
And... just as no one can make me Love them,
so to,
no one can make me stop Loving what I have come to KNOW, and therefore Love.
The Moral of my education :
To KNOW Life is to LOVE Life.
The rarest thing in the known universe.
- Thomas

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round,
or listened to rain slapping the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight,
or gazed at the sun fading into the night? You better slow down, don't dance so fast,
time is short, the music won't last.Do you run through each day on the fly,
when you ask "How are you?", do you hear the reply? When the day is done, do you lie in your bed,
with the next hundred chores running through your head? You better slow down, don't dance so fast,
time is short, the music won't last.Ever told your child, we'll do it tomorrow,
and in your haste, not see his sorrow?Ever lost touch, let a friendship die,
'cause you never had time to call and say hi?You better slow down, don't dance so fast,
time is short, the music won't last. When you run so fast to get somewhere,
you miss half the fun of getting there. When you worry and hurry through your day,
it's like an unopened gift thrown away.Life isn't a race, so take it slower,
hear the music before your song is over.
This was a poem and not a quote but I thought quite inspiring for the topic....Jaylena

"We can all be angels to one another. We can choose to obey the still small stirring within, the little whisper that says, 'Go. Ask. Reach out. Be an answer to someone's plea. You have a part to play. Have faith.' We can decide to risk that S/He is indeed there, watching, caring, cherishing us as we love and accept love. The world will be a better place for it. And wherever they are, the angels will dance."

In these extreme times of transition, let us CREATE our new BEING with only the eyes, heart of deep compassionate love. Let us allow ALL trespasses to be forgiven. Let us bear a bold, beautiful and exquisite BEING, borne of love, light and laughter borne of the sweetest divine intention.
Let us dance BLISS.

"The great renewal of the world will perhaps consist in this, that man and maid, freed of all false feelings and reluctances, will seek each other, not as opposites, but as brother and sister, as neighbors, and will come together as human beings." - Rainer Maria Rilke

"It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting. Before a dream is realized, the Soul of the World tests everything that was learned along the way. It does this not because it is evil, but so that we can, in addition to realizing our dreams master the lessons we have learned as we have moved toward that dream. That's the point at which most people give up....Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of search is a second's encounter with God and with eternity." - Paulo Coelho

The Self cannot be found in books. You have to find it yourself in yourself.
Ramana Maharishi
All in One ,One in All
Behave with others as you would with yourself
Look upon all the living beings as your bosom friends, for in all of them there resides one Soul.
All are but a part of that Universal Soul.
A person who believes that all are his soul mates and loves them all alike
never feels lonely.
The divine qualites of forgiveness, compassion and service will make him lovable in the eyes of all.
He will expereince intense joy throughout his life.
The Holy Vedas
Give up all questions except one: ‘Who am I?’ After all,
the only fact you are sure of is that you are. The ‘I am’ is
certain. The ‘I am this’ is not. Struggle to find out what you
are in reality. "
- Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
There is NO Way Out of Being. Being IS Everything, and No Thing. This. Is. It. Being IS. Being Life, Being Death, and That is all there is. No one gets That. The appearing manifest multiplicity - you and me and world - are in Reality, One Being, Unicity, and there IS nothing but That....
There is only One. You Are This One.
Sri Nisargadata Maharaj

Alice came to a fork in the road. "Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid the power to forgive, is devoid the power to Love.
There is some good in the worst of us,and evil in the best of us. When we discover this,we are less prone to hate our enemies.
