Be sure to post all petitions here so that we can sign them. Here is a link to our old petition thread in case you want to go back and sign any that you haven't yet.
thanks on the links TAS although I didn't see a petition on the Greater Yellowstone Coalition one. Per your second link, here is one of the things in there....
* NEW BFC Video: DOL Reveals Intent to Capture Wild Buffalo in the Hebgen Basin
Click the image on the left to watch BFC's new video.
In a spiteful move before a meeting of the Interagency Bison Management Plan, the Montana Department of Livestock (DOL) revealed shocking plans to harass, capture, vaccinate and slaughter wild, migratory buffalo in the Hebgen Basin, west of Yellowstone National Park. The DOL appears determined to proceed despite strong objections and opposition from the National Park Service, Nez Perce, Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, InterTribal Buffalo Council, and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. The only IBMP agency supporting the DOL's move was the federal livestock overseer, USDA's Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service, who is funding the DOL's project with your federal tax dollars. Take action to stop these plans! Contact Congress and Montana Governor Steve Bullock.
It makes me cry to see what these poor, ancient animals are having to endure for no reason other than they are not cattle! How can so many be against what the DOL is doing yet their voices are silenced and/or ignored!
Rich, old boy club money!!
CATTLE BARONS THINK THAT THEY OWN THE WEST!!!
And now they are pushing eating bison for your health, its low in fat¿♥
....I do not think they people are low in fat...lol....is there a petition for this
Not sure if there's a petition, Kaya but if you click on CONTACT CONGRESS and/or MONTANA GOVERNOR STEVE BULLOCK (at the end of the artlcle), you can send a message to him or and also to Congress. I think I will rename the thread 'Post Petitions and/or make Contact here' That way we can either call or email if that's what the article says or we can post petitions for signing. Either way it is keeping us abreast of situations going on with the bison.
I found and signed this one, hope it is not a duplicate.
thanks Gabra, glad to see you
you took action on March 13, 2013
we've got 397signatures, help us get to 1,000
done.I had to put my Brooklyn zip code from a couple, because it would not accept hope rd,kingston jamaica, code 12? Maybe it had to be US?
It is very upsetting that "On top of state and treaty hunts, the Montana Department of Livestock has plans to capture, vaccinate and kill buffalo in the Hebgen Basin, while in the Gardiner Basin Yellowstone National Park, the InterTribal Buffalo Council and the Confederated Salish & Kootenai tribes are planning capture wild buffalo and transport them to slaughter facilities. For ecologically extinct wild buffalo, it doesn't matter who is doing the killing, or whose slaughter facilities they end up in -- the end and senseless result is the same. Help us stop the slaughter and help these herds flourish!"
Can anyone tell me what the sentence in yellow means? Does it mean that the tribes are allowed to go INTO Yellowstone Park or just in the Gardiner Basin?

Ok,I see...On the one,you go into the newsletter to see petitions and stuff,ok...DUH!!!!
Hi TAS and Gabra. TAS, I think I will email Stephany @ BFC to see what I highlighted in yellow means. I don't like the sound of it but I hope I'm wrong. I no longer like to dress up anymore for parties either....not that I'm ever invited to any. lol I LOVE the name Chief Bison Warrior! I must remember Naca Tatanka Zuya. Is it pronounced (Nah Ca Ta Tanka Zoo Ya?) Gabra, yes the links will bring you into the newsletter where you can scout around and find all kinds of good information and petitions that need to be signed. On some of the articles I post them separately as a thread. Not all of them but a few. Especially the important or urgent ones...they are easier to find to take action on. But I'm glad that TAS posts the links, too....that way people can find articles 2 different ways.
Thanks,Vivian,I like to sign the petitions, there are times that they do work.I come here to this thread to look for them.
It said that the action alert is no longer active????
Thanks TAS on the links you post. (I hope I don't duplicate, but hey that's okay...the more the merrier.) I have posted the actual stories in our threads for easy reading but will also post some of their links here, too. Just want to make sure everyone sees them everywhere so they are not missed.
AMERICA'S LAST WILD BISON STOLEN FROM YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK BY FEDERAL LIVESTOCK AGENCY FOR POPULATION CONTROL EXPERIMENT
TAKE ACTION! PLEASE CONTACT YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK
TAKE ACTION! PLEASE CONTACT YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS
While watching operations at an Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service (APHI controlled bison trap north of Gardiner on Tuesday, I personally witnessed the horror that is our government's complete mismanagement of America's last wild, migratory bison. What I saw included 20 or so bison being violated, one being injured and one put to death.
TAKE ACTION NOW!
Just want to say that I am at my ritual time and very late, I will see the sun, if I don't go....
actions taken..thanks Vicky + Tasunka
Done. I think some of the people working in the park districts actually have "thrill of the kill" running in their blood.
Stop the needless slaughter of hundreds of bison
Bison are icons of the American West. Slaughtered by the millions a century ago, they were driven to the brink of extinction. Today we have an opportunity to reverse this national wildlife tragedy. Tell Governor Steve Bullock to stop the slaughter and let bison roam outside of Yellowstone National Park!

Stop Capture & Slaughter of Wild Buffalo
DON'T LET YELLOWSTONE SLAUGHTER AMERICA'S LAST WILD BUFFALO
Signed them all, June. I didn't see the petitions to post but I guess I was so busy trying to post other news all over the place that I missed them. I shared on Facebook and Twitter, too. I am so disgusted and sad about the slaughter. They are planning to kill 800 at least a year til their numbers are back down to around 3000-3500. Outrageous!! I tried calling Dan Wenck, Superintendent of Yellowstone. Thank you for the petition links, June. (((HUG))
Save Wild Bison from Unnecessary Slaughter
By signing this petition, you will be urging Montana government officials to ensure that the Montana Board of Livestock reverses its recent vote against the expansion of the bison “tolerance zone” north and west of Yellowstone National Park. This simple solution would save thousands of wild bison from unnecessary slaughter and help protect one of the last genetically pure herds of bison currently living in North America.
signed the new ones.
I signed June....thanks for posting the link. All this time I thought bison were in Montana but I see they have zero tolerance? That sucks! I won't stop fighting for them....EVER!
Signed them all, TAS. Thanks for posting the links.
All signed and up to date. Thanks for posting these June and Tas.

Protect Bison from Senseless Slaughter
A slaughter is taking place right now in Yellowstone National Park. The park is home to the last herd of bison that once roamed west of the Mississippi, and which numbered in the tens of millions before hunting cut their numbers to just fifty in the early twentieth century. We must petition Montana to allow these bison to wander into the lowlands without being massacred.
We now need this petition to be approved so the killing of these beautiful animals is stopped and their suffering is ended. Sign this petition, and demand that Governor Bullock allocate these lands to the bison.
Stop the Needless Slaughter of Hundreds of Bison
Yellowstone is home to one of the last genetically pure herds of bison left in North America. Up to 1,600 of this 4,600-strong herd could be killed under this appalling scheme, once again preventing the herd’s expansion and setting back bison restoration to other areas of their historic range.

Signed them and some others, June. Thank you. And bison numbers were down to 26 in the 1920's, not 50. Scary isn't it?

Applaud Removal of Bison Traps from National Park
Recently, park officials announced the removal of all bison traps from Yellowstone National Park. The traps were initially set up to help reduce the population of wild bison in the park, catching 600 bison before their removal.
Removal of the traps is, however, no guarantee that further trapping won’t be done in the park. Up to 1,000 bison still remain near the park’s borders. Commend Yellowstone for removing its bison traps, and demand no further removal of the animals from the park.
