The images were captured by Devon Wildlife Trust at their recently restored water mill headquarters close to Exeter Quay. The trust had suspected the mill was being used as a stopping off point for otters making their way along the River Exe, but the pictures now prove it. A trust spokesman said it showed that wildlife can thrive despite being surrounded by city life. The seagull waits until the shopkeeper isn't looking, and then walks into the store and grabs a snack-size bag of cheese Doritos. Once outside, the bag gets ripped open and shared by other birds. The seagull's shoplifting started early this month when he first swooped into the store in Aberdeen, Scotland, and helped himself to a bag of chips. Since then, he's become a regular. He always takes the same type of chips. Customers have begun paying for the seagull's stolen bags of chips because they think it's so funny. [ send green star]

They work State Street every week for donations. The animals are pretty well fed and are mellow. They are a family. The man who owns them rigged a harness up for his cat so she wouldn't have to walk so much (like the dog and himself). At some juncture the rat came along. The rat started riding with the cat and often, on the cat. The dog will stand all day and let you talk to him and admire him for a few chin scratches. I have seen mountains grow from small hills, form from small ravines and rivers born of trickling streams. I have walked with the great ones of eons ago, the great mammoth, saber tooth tigers and many others who have long been lost. I have seen the beginning of mankind. I am wolf. I am predetor. A hunter. I hunt for food. I do not collect trophies to be mounted on the walls of my den. I do not hunt for enjoyment but out of necessity, for survival. I hunt to feed my children so they can one day walk upon mother earth and become of the circle of life. I am wolf. I have watched for many years my hunting grounds deminish - trees replaced by buildings, game replaced by humans. I have been driven higher and higher into the mountains yet the humans still come and I'm driven even farther from the hunting grounds of my fathers father and his father before him. Yet I survive. My children survive. I am wolf. I am a loyal, devoted and loving parent. Our children are our future. Just as human children are the future of all human beings. I am protective of my children and I take my responsibility of their nuturing as seriously as any human parent. I provide food for my children and provide them with a safe home until they are ready to walk their own path. I am wolf. I do not choose to hunt in the presence of humans, but I have been given no other choice. My land has been taken from me, and now so shall my life and the lives of my children and in doing so our future is doomed. We will go the way of the old ones. Only in memories of distant pasts shall we live again. I am wolf. Wolves are beauty without vanity, innocence without naivete. We are one of the creators children and deserve to live our lives in peace. We were created for a purpose and it was not to be hunted and slaughtered. I am wolf. Tonight I will lay and sleep beside my mate and our children. This may be the last night we will share together upon mother earth for tomorrow many of our brothers and siters will be slaughtered and perhaps ourselves as well. The horse was a marvel to the Indian and came to be regarded as sacred. It had a mysterious or sacred character. The Indian often times referred to the horse as the big dog or the sacred dog. The ceremonial importance of horses is strong in many cultures. In the Navajo Enemy Way ceremony, which is used to rid someone who has come in contact with the enemy of the evil, horses transport the sacred staff that carries the evil away from the person. I was out in the morning with the girls when we came across this herd of wildebeest. As we approached they slowly moved off. But left this youngster behind. At first when I saw him I thought he was dead. And even through the binoculars I couldn’t see any sign of breathing. But then eventually I saw an ear twitch. So what was wrong with this little fellow? Was he really sick and couldn’t get up? We decided to investigate. As we left the vehicle the rest of the herd alarm snorted madly from about 50m away. Still there was no change in the calf. We walked closer whispering to each other. Now about 5m from the calf it still wasn’t reacting to our presence. I tossed a small clod of sand onto its stomach, which also had no effect. Its eyes were open and seemed to be looking around. Now I was convinced the little guy was seriously sick. The whole time now the herd were snorting madly. Then we decided to speak up normally. The little guys slowly got up onto his chest and then seeing us, he took a double take and realising he was in grave danger took off out of there. The girls thought it was the funniest thing they had ever seen. He must have been in a really deep deep sleep. Then driving home later in the day a Francolin was running down the road ahead of the vehicle. Suddenly it decided to change course and in the process skidded in the loose sand landing briefly on its side before taking off into the bush. This too brought a roar of laughter from the girls.
