Hi Pirjo,
This is a thread about members' interest in this group and in the topic of shamanism. Would you be interested in posting to it?
Anything you'd like to say about why you are here and what you think about the topic.
Thanks,
Bekki

I am slowly learning about moderating this group-- and learning how to change settings to make it more user-friendly.
Crow and I have been busy getting ready for our trip to Hungary, we leave Monday, and return on the 9th of June. The last month has been filled with lots of have-tos in order to prepare. I will attempt to check in here while traveling but don't know yet whether circumstances will allow it. I will have an update from the shamanic conference after I get back.
In the meantime, I'd like to leave you with some thoughts about this Network.
I see this group as a place to bring thoughts, questions and concerns about shamanic healing. While this is not a teaching site, it is a place to share experiences and get feedback. I'm sure the group will grow too and bring new things to the table. I know we can engage in useful and consciousness-raising dialog about healing each other, ourselves and the planet.
Hi Bekki - this is a wonderful group that resonates with me at every level. I hope you have a great trip to Hungary and I look forward to sharing and hearing from others, those shamanic stories that consciously raise awareness of the Oneness that is the web of life...
So sorry it took me so long to get back here. I'm busy with the school, I'm directing my diploma work in a few weeks and will graduate next autumn..
I'm interested in shamanism and shamanic healing, but i have to say i don't know much really. I guess i'll be more the listening (reading) kind of a member..
Welcome to the new folks just coming on board. I hope you will all take time to introduce yourselves and your interes in shamanism. In fact, I think I will start a thread on that topic!
Elf and Tony, it's good to see you here. I hope you are exploring Care 2 and all it has to offer.
I am looking forward to some good dialog about shamanism and related topics. Feel free to bring your questions and thoughts on the subject here.
Welcome to all of the new folks that have been coming on board. It's great to see you here. Feel free to introduce yourselves on the Intro thread. Your feedback and contributions are encouraged.
Tekla, why don't you start a thread here on some aspect of shamanism and healing that interests you and that you'd like to dialog about? There are bound to be others who are interested.
INTRODUCING MYSELFMEMBERSHIP REQUEST May 15, 2008 11:51 AM
HI,I'M PRESENTING MYSELF.I'M ZORROLORI,BESIDES BEEING AN ARTIST PAINTER I'M ALSO A -WILLING TO BE HEALER.AND THAT'S BECAUSE AFTER ALL THE TEACHINGS THAT I RECEIVED,I WAS PARALIZED BY THE RESPONSIBILITY,AND EVEN AFTER SOME WARNINGS,I COULDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE IN SAYING PEOPLE THAT THE THINGS THAT I FELT, WERE THERE . TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH,ALL THE TIME I WAS SERIOUSLY WORRIED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF MAKING A MISINTERPRETATION,AND I GAVE UP,BUT AS YOU SEE,NOT ENTIRELLY,IF THERE'S SOMEONE WHO COULD HELP ME IN THIS CASE,I'LL BE VERY,VERY GRATEFUL.
Welcome Sandra, i'm glad you have found this group. I have been out of town for a week and not had access to email, so am just getting yours. What is ZORROLORI ?
The call to be a healer often requires us to go through our own healing process, and look at those elements of ourselves that can get in our way. Since I don't know what kind of healing work you feel called to do I am not sure what your training might be or you have been doing for your own healing. You might want to look at why you are concerned about making an error-- how much of your concern is coming from a lack of knowledge or actually having done some damage to another person, and how much may be residual from childhood issues? Many of us who do healing work are hypervigilant in protecting our clients, because we are afraid of doing damage or making a mistake in judgment. This can be based in fear of judgment from others because we experienced punishment or ridicule as children, but there are many potential causes for fear of this kind, which is not based in our current reality.
Or we may on some level feel inadequately prepared for dong healing work. When my husband and I teach our shamanic intensive training each student has 4 or 5 supervised sessions with clients, and recieves feedback from us on their work, as well as from the client. This helps them see that they really are ready to do the work, and they have confidence to do it on their own.
It is often helpful to examine what is getting in our way when we have these feelings. If you have trouble sorting out the cause and whether your feelings are realistic or not, ask for feedback from teachers or mentors and from clients you have done healing for. Then you can address the issues by getting more training (if you need more skills) or you can find another healer to work with you on the emotional issues that affect your confidence.
