Roxi the Dog August 28, 2005 4:38 PM
This petition has been going around for a while but only has 11,000 signatures. They need 50,000.
It is for Roxi, the 15 year old shepherd mix dog who was mercilessly kicked to her death after wandering into Frank Acquino's BBQ party on Memorial Day. Frank Acquino was witnessed by over 40 people as he punted Roxi like a football. She staggered over to a tree and died about two hours later.
PLEASE PLEASE make the time to sign this petition and pass it on to all you know and post it in your groups even if you already have. We need those signatures!
And even more importantly, PLEASE make time to write or call the Judge an dteh District Attorney on Roxi's behalf! This is so vitallky important! They are already being swamped with letters and calls and it is making a point for them. They are impressed. Let's show them just how much we hate Frank Acquino's actions and the actions of ALL animal abusers!!
Go to www.rememberroxi.com to read about the dog, what happened and who you can contact. Be sure and look at the beautiful photos of this sweet and gentle Being.
SEND LETTERS AND MAKE CALLS TO:
Please help us get justice for our dog Roxi and all abused animals. We are afraid that Frank Aquino will get away with killing our dog because, as Aquino’s lawyer stated, he has never been convicted of a crime before. This means that there is a chance Aquino will just get probation and if he stays out of trouble this "incident" will be removed from his record. Please don’t let him get away with this! Please tell the Judge and District Attorney that you would like to see him punished for his actions and set an example to all those who hurt animals.

Want to change the law? Please support Bill AO3585 (SO1789). This Bill allows a person to sue for the loss of companionship, comfort, protection. . . but most importantly, it recognizes our animal friends as COMPANIONS instead of property. This Bill has been referred to the judiciary committee and will be voted on this year.
Please let Speaker of the House Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno know that you want this Bill passed:
