This is the third album from “the voice of Tibet”—Dechen Shak-Dagsay—a Tibetan who has lived with her family in Switzerland since childhood. She is the eldest daughter of a Tibetan Lama, The Venerable Dagsay Tulku. With her beautiful voice and traditional training, her music brings the spirit of Tibetan Buddhism to the western world. Dechen Shak-Dagsay performs repeatedly for his holiness the Dalai Lama. Perfect for chanting and devotional practices, as well as yoga and meditation. Great for chill-out and when you need to unwrinkile the vibes in your house or your heart.
Lovely liner notes tell a beautiful story of each mantra and song on this album. “Dcham Sem” means “the compassionate mind” and contains an immense positive power for attaining inner peace and wellbeing… When the power of Dcham Sem flows in the hearts of people, the wish to care for others and to lessen their sufferings will be there naturally.”
“Seldom do I hear singing and music so suffused with gentle beauty and calmness as I did on Compassion. Tibetan vocalist Dechen Shak-Dagsay’s songs and mantras, impeccably accompanied by flute, piano, Tibetan bowls, tambura, and subtle synthesizer textures, wrap around you like a soft blanket, comforting and imbuing you with a sense of inner peace and serenity. These songs are a spiritual oasis for our troubled souls in these perilous times, and only the most hardened of hearts will remain unaffected by this recording.”

Elemental, ethereal, earthy, wonderful throat singing - listen for the chiming overtones that sound like tiny flutes and bells...
