G8 pledges $60bn to fight Aids June 08, 2007 9:44 AM

Leaders at the group of eight (G8) meeting in Germany have agreed on a $60bn pledge to fight Aids and other killer diseases ravaging the African continent.
The $60bn will be used to combat Aids, malaria and tuberculosis, global diseases that have been especially devastating for African peoples and their economies.

The declaration was criticised for not setting out a specific timetable for the aid, saying the money would flow "over the coming years".
although it sounds like a shaky pledge to help this vast beautiful continent, perhaps along with our prayers we may continue to see the light..

My Continuing Prayers Go Out ... June 11, 2007 8:35 PM

My continuing prayers go out that the pledges will be activated soon and that they will be put to good use in helping those in need on the African Continent. Let us all pray for this!  [ send green star]
