Yes! January 24, 2009 12:24 PM

I'm in total agreement,  BMT.   There's a new administration in town,  and they DO want to hear from us,  about anything and everything that's on our minds.  For those of us here,  that would be Medical Marijuana.

We've been given a gift by God,   in the form of Barack Obama,  a President with an administration that is far-more open-minded than the last one.......oh, wait a minute.  The last administration didn't have a mind......this one does.

I want to urge everyone to go to  http://www.whitehouse.gov/

Send them a message,  tell them how YOU feel about legalising medical marijuana.  Trust me,  they DO want to know.

When you finish with the White House,  go to

http://www.senate.gov/    and then you can go to

http://www.house.gov/

Jesus said,  "Ye have not because ye ask not".

Let's start asking, and demanding, and not let go until the lawmakers understand that We The People want and NEED marijuana for medical use to be legalised at the Federal level.

Thank you all,   for all you do!

Peace and Love to everyone!,

Tim  .......and Miss Bibbs

Hey Yourself, Katii! January 23, 2009 9:32 PM

Geez,  I've been away from the group for so long,  I feel like I should introduce myself!

I'd appreciate it if everyone would read the host bulletin I posted a day or two ago.  There are some things you ought to know.

Anyway,   your Royal High-ness Katii!

It's great to have you back in amongst us!

I intend to be around here considerably more than I have been these last few months,  and I intend to get busy.   I hope you sweet people feel the same way!

Peace and Love to you all,

Hi all! Probably didn't need to join another group, but if nothing else, I can show support by being a member. Right now I'm on the verge of cleaning up my profile, I'll be signing off the internet for awhile in some sort of ill attempt at saving an extra 40 bucks a month to help pay for medical bills that seem to be piling up, group insurance isn't what it used to be.

Oh well, keep up the positives on the 'war against drugs', it's just a name our gov'ment came up with to make it sound worse than it is probably. They like to make us scared.   Have a good one all and take care2!   Peace

HI! July 24, 2008 1:11 AM

Just joined Care2 - how's it going everyone?

For more than 20 years, I have enjoyed the personal freedom to choose to partake in the use of this plant.... I don't have medical issues per se, but I very much enjoy its effects: its ability to de-stress me and make me live more in the moment and be less crabby are major benefits for me and my loved ones!  I feel it makes me a better parent too!
I feel all use is "medicinal" - I would be upset if I had to justify my desire to use this drug ...I feel like governments treat us as children who can't take care of ourselves when they choose to punish us for our predilection for this substance over the legal ones they regulate and tax...!
I'm not into alcohol - it makes me dopey and fall asleep!
Drugs affect everyone differently!

I'm glad I live in canada!

GREEK ART TREAT March 20, 2008 2:48 PM

=================

Aren't these beautiful?

Thank you, Tim and everybody, for your kind words.

Tim, this group takes its CHARACTER from you -- your kindness, warmth, religious faith {in the BEST, non-dogmatic sense!}. I and others, are INSPIRED by all that! This group would not exist in this form, without your having started it. No other group, I think, is quite like it. {Other groups deal with technicalities; THIS one is, ALSO, a SUPPORT group!}

Well, I need to announce here, that I am going to be spending somewhat LESS time on Care2 for a while.

This group is still VERY CLOSE TO MY HEART; and I am CERTAINLY going to be checking in often!

I want to see the group GROW, among other things -- so, EVERYBODY INVITE ALL YOUR FRIENDS that you think can contribute! I believe that ENDING THE STUPID DRUG WARS is one of the PARAMOUNT issues of the day! and a WEAK POINT in the mis-Administrations' fabric of SELF-SERVING LIES!

Oh, and DON'T ANYBODY CHANGE THE FORMAT while I'm not here; the "new" Care2 format for groups, is, I think, UGLY, besides being full of glitches!

There are 3 other co-hosts besides me & Tim; so I hope someone can come in and take up the slack! If it is too much, maybe someone else wants to be substitute co-host -- but, I AM NOT RESIGNING!!!

There are several reasons I am TEMPORARILY slacking off in my co-host duties.

1] I am working on a campaign in my State, Washington, for a "Death With Dignity" Initiative to be put on the ballot next November. This is THE SAME ISSUE OF, FIRST, COMPASSION, AND, SECOND, PERSONAL FREEDOM TO MAKE ESSENTIAL DECISIONS FOR ONESELF; the EXACT SAME ISSUES AS ARE INVOLVED IN LEGALIZING MARIJUANA/CANNABIS. The Initiative is a copy of a law that has been on the books for nine years in the State of Oregon; with no glitches! No "offing" of poor, sick, helpless people by their relatives, etc. -- there are safeguards! This law is also endorsed by our former Governor, Booth Gardner, who is himself suffering from a terminal disease. And by the ACLU. Those of you who happen to LIVE in the State of Washington, are invited to come help in the campaign!

2] I am ALSO working on GETTING 9/11 TRUTH CONSCIOUSNESS INTO THIS ELECTION CAMPAIGN -- and also into the Public consciousness, WHOEVER GETS ELECTED!!!!! These things are going to be taking me away from Care2 for a while, and out into the streets instead of sitting in front of my computer!

3] Frankly, in the interests of Full Disclosure! well, we all get a bit burned out at times! The change will do me GOOD. I find that I am starting to LOSE MY OBJECTIVITY and get MAD more often, which is not particularly good. When we get MAD AT THINGS WE CAN'T SEEM TO CHANGE IN THE WORLD, and start TEARING AT EACH OTHER...... I'm sure you all have seen Care2 members go that route! and I DON'T WANNA! go that route!

I think it's the Elections that are raising such high passions on the Internet -- both good and bad. But I try to "KEEP MY EYES ON THE PRIZE" at all times. A CITIZENS' MOVEMENT, such as the Civil Rights Movement of the '60's, and the LEGALIZE CANNABIS Movement, is A LOT BIGGER THING THAN ANY ELECTION. If we are BIG ENOUGH, and TAKE ACTIONS THAT ARE VISIBLE, ANY politicians will HAVE to respond!!!!

So, fare well, so long, for a while, and KEEP THE FAITH!

Hello EVERYONE!  & So Very Sorry I haven't posted in awhile.....(forgive me!)

Anyway, hope everyone had a fantastic & fun-filled St. Patrick's Day!

Tim.....I'm really sorry to hear that California didn't end up to be what you'd expected.  Never been to CA; but, I sure do love TN!

Hello, Mona!  I live in the Great Lake State, Michigan.  Economically, it's pretty much the worst state to live in right now; but, I sure do LOVE all the water & woods all around this place.  Although I've been thru many, many medical tests the last couple years, no major illness has been found.  I sure wish there was something I could do for the medical dillema you're going thru; but, the only thing I can think of is to offer ya friendship, if you could use another friend (I come free.....don't cost a thing!  lol!  ha, ha!)  I've been eating up pain killers lately, though; but, it's just my teeth.  They're SO rotten, & I can't seem to get any help with them.  I just keep trying to doctor them up, & hope like he*# I can somehow get them taken care of - before they end up killing me....

Will pray for you, Mona, as well as LittleWing, & Tim.

Lisa K.:  Thank-you so much for sharing the experience you witnessed.  Cancer is such a horrible thing, & has unfortunately hurt many peoples' lives.

I'd like to extend a warm "WELCOME!" to all "new" people!

Well, later, folks!  Wishing you all much peace, love, & laughter!

Lisa and Littlewing! Thanks for joining! Lisa, yes, I founded this group last summer and BMutiny has been running things here since not-long after I started this group. I don't get here much, because my health is so poor, and I just don't have the strenght and stamina to stay online for long amounts of time. So, this group is really BMutiny's, because if not for her, this group would not be here! Bright Blessings to everyone, and be at PEACE!

Thank you March 17, 2008 7:06 AM

for the invitation, Mutiny!  And, my friend, Tim!  How delightful to discover that you are a co-host!  Well, I'm looking forward to learning a great deal.  Thank you, again.

I'd like to share a little story, if I may.

About 25 years ago, as a fairly new nurse, I was working on the Oncology floor at a major Philadelphia medical center.  Two patients became unlikely best friends.

One young man was only 17 years old when his girlfriend found a lump on his right testicle during foreplay. He was receiving Cis-Platinum for his Chemo.  He needed to drink at least a liter of fluid every hour to prevent Hemorrhagic Cystitis.

The second patient was a St. Joseph's nun, 32, with stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma.  She, too, was receiving heavy-duty Chemo.  Both were as sick as they come from the treatments.  THC in pill form was doing nothing.  The IV's could not be infused fast enough for their metabolic needs.  The physician mad a suggestion to the father of the boy.

The young man's father brought in some pot, and the nun and the kid went and split a joint in the on-call room.  Both were able to keep fluids down, and get through their Chemo.  They felt much better.

They became very good friends.  Unfortunately, the boy's cancer was very aggressive, and he sucumbed first.  The nun went to his funeral, and stayed in touch with the family.

3 month's later, she died, too.  The kid's entire family went to her funeral.  They were not Catholics, but it didn't matter.

The marijuana made the last months of their lives a quality time.  It's one of those lessons that stays with a person forever.

Thanks for letting me share.

In Peace and Love,

Lisa

Hi Mutiny thankyou for invite-Believe all illegal drugs should be legal -mainly to cut their cost in crime and drug wars and just cost cost which would not exist if they were legal- Think of the money saved on jails and helicopters and guns and police time and court time and time in hospital and graves due to lacing the stuff for more profit . Think how cheap drugs would be if legal. Myself I rely on natural highs like meditation and the arts but want everyone to enjoy themselves as much as possible so they give off good vibes and start to influence all they come into contact with for the good- It aint happy people shoots others and beats others up etc is it?  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Hello to all February 05, 2008 1:28 PM

I'm  new here and wanted to say hello. Im rally thakfull to allwho have been part of the movement for medicinal use of marijuana. I have serious eye sight problems ( just had major lazer surgery yesterday) and use pot for pain relief and hopefully reduction of the disease process. I find the indica starins to be really helpful.

If anyone could help me, are there any links to what is going on with Marc Emery? Perhaps I have spelled his name incorrectly.

Thanks to all for the great source of information you provide.

Hi all,

I have introduced myself here quite a while ago...life has not given me the chance to be very active here and I am very sad about that....but life just happens...anyway, I have used pot on and off for years already and all it ever did for me was benefit me hugely and i am sick and tired beyond words of the criminilisation of it. It just sucks big time ! It never did anything but good for me, just to mention a few things it helped me with: anxiety, depression, ptsd, creativity, migraines, nausea, insomnia and the list goes on and on....something really needs to change with the attitude towards mariuana and big time and the hypocrysy around it makes me sick to my stomach. Hopefully I can be a bit more active now...please just understand that my wife Deb and I have a lot going on in life and we simply are not able to be here at times....but know that UI support te use of mariuana fully !

Hello, Everyone! I'm Back! January 07, 2008 7:31 AM

everybody! As many of you may know, it's been almost a month that I've been gone from Care2, because for that time I had no computer! I was in California for 2 months, but I'm back in East Tennessee again. All I can (and will) say about that is that it's a long and ugly story that I really don't want to get into. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but gee, don't alot of things turn out that way? It's got a happy ending, tho, because now I'm back where I belong, in my beloved Appalachia, and back on Care2! My thanks to everyone who kept this group going in my abscence, most especially my precious little sister White Wolf Dragon..... 'Love ya, Babe! Bright Blessings to all!  [ send green star]

Hello, Everyone! January 04, 2008 6:35 AM

My name is Kathleen.  I live in Fort Gratiot, Michigan.

I'm here because I believe in this cause.  I also believe there are some good people here to "mingle" with.  I appreciate the opportunity given to me to join yous.

It angers me when I think of all the rights we should have; but, are denied because of our "lovely" government!  Also, when our government denies us gifts given to us by God!  Although I must admit, that I'm not a smoker myself, I have many people close to me who are (however, I use to be!).  Smoking marijuana, which is of our god-given earth, should be a personal allowed choice, just as well as smoking cigarettes is, & drinking alcoholic beverages.

To: Sandra:  I really like your way of thinking!  Hooray for you!

Kim:  I also LOVE the point you make, about there being many adverse side affects to MOST prescription drugs.  And those opposed to marijuana use waste time being concerned of........what?!???

Anyway, I'd also like to extend an invitation for any of yous to join my friends list.  Sorry for the LONG intro. (I could go on, & on, & on RE: this subject).  Glad to make your acquaintance!

hey silverlady, welcome to the group.  it's a good group.  i asked my doc about medicinal pot amd she made me laugh cuz her concern was that it's not federally regulated and it has pesticides so you don't know what your getting.  what's the difference also if i take pills that are no good for my liver or smoke pot that's no good for my lungs.  i vote for pot.  have a good day and welcome again.  erielady  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Hello Pot People November 22, 2007 12:05 AM

Hello , is it 4:20?  No matter!  I'm Sandra.  Years a~head.  Totally for the legalization of Medical Marijuana and the legal use of Marijuana by adults.  Also for the legalization and immediate growing of hemp to make all paper products, starting tomorrow before there isn't a tree or a plant left..with global climate change we are going to need all the shade we can get.  Totally want to help to demand and force the Federal Government to stop this phony drug war that is wasting resources better spent on WAY bigger problems humans face.  Look forward to activism and fun on the site, I've just started looking around!  Thank U!

I just became a member of this group moments ago.  I appreciate your invitation, and I hope that I will be able to make significant contributions to the vision this group holds.

My name is Carolyn Tonahill. I, like most of you, am involved in many different C2 groups and activities.  Activism is my number one reason for being here, though I do enjoy the fun and comaraderie and  genuine friendships I've developed here.

I see many friends here already, and I have been in more than one forum with others--so I feel comfortable and know I can look forward to stimulating conversation, that we will not always agree but we will always listen and respect there are other viewpoints just as rational as we think ours to be.  LOL

I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana although it is not home and I look forward to relocating some day.  I am a native of Ohio and a long-time transplant to Texas, thus I claim dual citizenship. I name Austin, Texas as my home town.

Thanks for inviting me.  It feels like a place I want to be.
