Thank you, Chris. It's good to see you, and I'm happy to have you in my circle of friends.
How are you feeling? I do hope you're resting enough. Have you been able to go back to work, yet? If so, be extra careful. Sorry, I'm a bit of a mother hen at times.
It's not my place, but Leslie mentioned she was going to ask how you felt about an autumn type background for a while. Maybe a halloween one until it's over, and then switch to autumn. Not for long. I know how much you love cats. It's just an idea to talk over.
I think she might be off to bed. She's still feeling the jet lag, you know. Sunday's over for us. It's past 2am, Monday morning. I should be sleeping, myself
I saw a hippie thread. I must go check it out. Thanks again for the welcome, Chris.
I made it down the stairs again. The man (otherwise known as pain-in the asss) was supposed to move the computer upstairs but never got around to it. It took a couple days but I got down here.
Just kidding. Here I am, emote addiction intact. I found the invitation buried between over 200 emails, the bulk of which were jokes, petition and "news noters wanted" emails. I've lost so many personal mails that way. I had to put a stop to it. I find my causes and read tonnes of news on my own. I was getting 10 to 12 per day from just one person alone! That's why my friends list is so whittled down. I asked very politely, but some got angry and others just deleted me with not a word. The others I had to delete because they stopped speaking to me. Wouldn't reply to my emails, some even deleted my comments!
You know me, Leslie. I'm never rude to anyone. I have to admit my feelings were hurt, but at least the friends I have now are real. And I'm getting to know them a lot better. I'll build it back up, but I'll make sure there's a connection, first.
I know there are a lot of great people on this site. I see them posting and I surf around and read their pages. I'll begin sending intros again soon. I'm just now getting over the disappointment.
OK, I'll step down off of my
So, where is everyone? I noticed Mari was here. We'll have to get her talking. She'll be back tomorrow. The three of us can meet here and do our
I'd like the chance to meet others in the group, as well. I don't foresee battles breaking out here. It seems peaceful. Thanks again for the invitation. I'm just sorry it took me so long to find it.
I'll be back later. I'm going to check and see if the site's back up to click the tree leaves. First, I'm going to read your post on rape. I saw it in ACH, and S(o)B's blog.
I'll talk to you soon, my sister. I can't wait till we meet up in Sydney. I'll call you tomorrow.
Deb Stormy and Elizabeth and every one I have missed!

Tim and others, hello August 27, 2007 7:06 PM
Tim, the picture is beautiful, thank you very much. Looks like a dream. And the other one is wonderful too, although the mood is completely different, some lyrical sadness shows through...
I wish for all of you a cooler weather. I see on TV the summer is awfully hot everywhere. We actually "enjoy" some cooling down: from 107 to 95... Wow! It does feel cooler!
TIM! What a beautiful picture! Consider it snagged.
Valerie, I'm doing my best to keep my feet wet. Colour me soggy and sleepy. I keep fighting it. Tomorrow's my first day/night off in many weeks.I don't want to let go of it.
Leslie, thanks for deleting my last post. I'm so exhausted I fell asleep on my keyboard. The result was a mass of gibberish, a language not known to man, at least not on this planet. I hit submit instead of edit.
Leslie and I had been exchanging emails and came up with the cat and dog ransom idea. We felt silly about it afterward, but then the result was positive feedback....from most....not all. One person, although polite, felt I was acting as if I were a host. Having spent the better part of my life in the Northeast, there are times I may come off as being pushy. It's not my intention to do so. 9 times out of ten, it's my weird, unorthodox sense of humor. And then there are times I speak before I think. If you catch me doing it, call me on it. I'm far from thin-skinned, and I do respond to logic and constructive criticism The last thing I want is to hurt anyone's feelings or step on anyone's toes.
So, onward and upward.
Valerie, I'll send you screenshots on inserting smilies. There are several different ways, depending on your browser. I'll email you tomorrow, after I've had at least 22 hours of sleep.
My Tovaritch! How wonderful to see you here! I am so pleased!
Leslie said she would hold my cat hostage. This means she was going to kidnap my cat and not give her back until I joined. But, she was joking. If ANYONE could find their way to this itty-bitty town where I live, I would salute them!
Valerie, my dear, this is for you:
A field of beautiful wildflowers for a beautiful Russian spirit!

Mari August 26, 2007 3:08 PM
Oh I see ! lol Actually I thought it was some kind of a saying like "it is raining cats and dogs" or something... Those keep putting me in trouble. For example, a friend left me a message, "Don't forget to wet your feet every once in a while." My mouth just dropped open! Why? For what? So I, as politely as possible, wrote back to thank for a handy advice and ask why I would want to wet my feet. And they told me that it just meant that you need to try and learn something new every once in a while.
So...to learn a foreign language is quite a fascinating journey, full of surprises. I guess my Russian feet are always wet now, every day -- a new word...
As for starting a new thread, Mari, yes, sounds appealing! I think I might go for that later wnen I'll take a good look around, see what people are talking aboput and all... Oh, and I have another question. lol How do you post all these little yellow smilies? I know how to insert a picture. Do I have to save the emoticons for my computer and then isert them the way I do with other pics, through Photobucket?
Enjoy the day everybody and see you later! And let's keep our feet wet!
Actually, the threat of cats and dogs being held hostage was a result of my watching too much Fawlty Towers.
Good to see you here, Valerie. Feel free to start threads....odd pictures, silly stories, photos of your neighbor dressed in drag.........whatever. Just have fun. I like the chatting. Unfortunately, I have to run off for a while. I'll be back late afternoon.

Cat hostage??? :) August 26, 2007 8:17 AM
Hello everyone! Tim the hippie, it is so nice to see you here! Thanks for the invitation, Leslie! And Tim, you see?! Your invitation message worked good for me after all so it's ok to send me ones, there was just noooooo need to say sorry, especially given how glad I am to hear from you!
So I am here, everything looks good and as a foreighner I have a guestion to youWhat "to catch your cat hostage"... something like that mean?
Everybody have a nice week! The last one in August, so we can hope for some cooler weather now...
Wild and Lyndsey, you're very welcome. Thanks for coming.
Hiya, Tim. I wouldn't really hold your cat hostage. It was a diabolical threat, meant to lure you into the realm of the unknowm and unexpected. Anything goes, as long as it's relatively clean. Love the peace sign. They're rapidly becoming your trademark. Cool.
Robin, it's good to see you. Your dog is safe. You have my word. No thanks on the cat offer, though. Mine's enough to handle.
Our group's growing!
Please, please...invite friends you feel would offer diverse input. We'd like to see a wide variety of imaginations running rampant.

Thanks for the invite Leslie...please don't hold my dog hostage anymore, you can have the cat, haha...only because I don't have one, but mine thinks he is, he is a Chow Chow and dosen't like his paws wet, and when I rub his tummy his paws do just like a cat...you know they curl up and claw at the floor...he is my heart , soul and my baby! Hugs, Robin

Leslie said she'd hold my cat hostage if I didn't join, so here I am.
It's nice to see some friends here (Hello, Eli & Mari!)
I'm sure I'll meet more friends here, too!
I wish everyone...
