This Group Was Created On July 4, 2007 July 04, 2007 7:27 PM

This is the first group I have started alone. Please bear with me while I try to do my best. At first I wasn't too excited about this being Independence Day. I didn't feel like I had a lot of Independence to celebrate really. Then it hit me. That means it is time to seek Independence from Tyranny. Time to seek a Revolution, a smart Revolution.  [ send green star]

I will celebrate this group & the idea behind it... REVOLUTION.

Because I feel celebrating the 4th now is like hypocritical or denial????  Our country in shambles, most our U.S. Constitution has been trampled upon & our civil & human rights manipulated to the Bush Administration whims and of course NWO, (since we all know Bush is just a puppet, he is too damn dumb to be a leader in the illuminati).

So I'm honored and extremely proud to become a member of this group, because I'm ready for a revolution against the War Mongers & Greedy pigs who are tampering with our freedoms and liberties.

so THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this group!

We Should honour our Interdependance July 05, 2007 4:57 AM

Not the Fraud of Independance and Freedom For this Country was never Free of European inFluences! They overwhelmed our economy and forced The Industrial Exploitation of this continent By Dumping thier Disenfranchised and disruptive undesirables on us!

We Grew To Fast to honour the Rights and The Negotiated Treaties of The True owners of this land; And now we Spread the Same Amoral Corruption around the world in the Name of Freedom and Democracy! The Smell of Fireworks Brings a Bad Taste to my mouth and Sours My disposition! How many Starving Children could have been Fed using that$$  or Wells Blasted through The parched soils of Africa using that Power of Violece for Some Good!

Instead We have more Maimed children who if They are lucky Will now Be Exempt From The endless Wars Thier Leaders have planned! More uncontrolled Fires in our Rapidly Drying Country; And  less Freedom Today Than Before We Pretended to Run the Brittish out!

It's probably not a problem in this group, but it certainly is in many Care2 groups: the way the "constitution for the united States of America" and the subsequent "Bill of Rights" were originally ratified, the newly-formed coalition government had no power to do anything inside the borders of an individual State, except to "guarantee a republican form of government."

The new government was prohibited from interferring with the speech of individuals, but was also prohibited from interferring with laws that regulated speech inside State line.  The new government was prohibited from restricting ownership and bearing of weapons, but was also prohibited from interferring with control of weapons inside State lines.

If you want to get the federal government out of local communities, you can rely on the original Constitution.  If you want to use the federal government to change education or to eliminate religious displays in public places or to integrate housing or to enforce a right to bear arms, the original Constitution stands in your way.

I started this group in the Spirit of the American Revolution, not a strict adherence to what it wrought.

I don't understand the comment, Sherrie.  I see the Constitution and Bill of Rights as an expression of the desire to prevent a distant government from becoming powerful enough to interfere in local affairs  -- roughly a decade after a declaration was made that the people of thirteen colonies would no longer submit to a distant government and would, instead, handle their affairs locally.  [ send green star]

I wonder....

Will we be able to have a real revolution without violence? And are we prepared to check out of complacency and the comfort zone of our current lifestyles?

are we free? I Dont think so July 05, 2007 8:51 AM

My hub and kids went to our towns fire works last night,as I was sitting there watching the show all I could think about was I felt Like we where all in denial, our country is not what we want to think, and I thought about my son and many others, fighting for there freedom,or just to be treated fairly, and so much more.zThe mood of the people was very quiet ,allso people used to cheer and yell in happness, but most of the people where very quiet, and kind of down,I asked my hub what he thought and he said I think we need a Revolution, its time for people to bring this country back to what it was. Then this morning I opened up my e-mail and this was the frist one I opened,so I thought I had better join, its just what my man and I was talking about,so Iam on board ,my hub will join tonight ,everone have a great day JoAnn..  [ send green star]

Thanks for the invite Sherrie July 05, 2007 1:40 PM

I haven't celebrated the 4th for quite a few years now; I just can't take the overly patriotic lies anymore.  While it is nice to have a day off with my kids (16 & 24), we stayed home and watched 'V for Vendetta' & 'the corporation'.  I would recommend either of these if you haven't seen them yet.

I know they get tired of me telling them how things have changed, but I feel the larger perspective is something their peers are missing.  We have a deal at home, they help keep me up to date and I try to fill in the history that they would never get in school.

Doing my best not to raise good little cogs for the machine.

The coming revolution must be non-violent July 05, 2007 5:11 PM

For the simple reason that the bad guys have terrible weapons.  It has to be passive and non-cooperative.  It has to be organized so they don't pick you off one by one.  http://georgewashington.blogspot.com/2005/11/can-we-have-peaceful-revolution.html  [ send green star]

All anti-war and other activists, must get together and work together.  There is no Copyright in a Revolution.  Be a member of your orginization.  Follow conduct, yet speak freely.  Be a member of two or more actually.  Assimilate and share ideas where appropiate.  Sometimes groups do the same thing, but at different times making it difficult for activists as a whole to be affective.

Tonight a nationwide grassroots organiztion formatted a campaign to urge and end of the war in Iraq.  A planned vigil at the end of the month.  Only some odd thousands attended these meetings.  In some areas the meetings were small.  But Thursday 16 August 2007, there will be press conferences across america speaking of the purpose of Move On, one of these organizations, occuring in hundreds of towns and cities.  There are a few million associated with this organization yet they are not so active.

Other organizations such as Peace Action, an Impeach Bush, are also expanding and doing there own thing.  Still nobody gets the numbers and cooperation they need to be taken seriously.  There needs to be a coalition here.  A revolution dosen't start with an organization.  It starts with a country.

Congress takes a vacation soon.  Watch out for Bush.

July 4,2008 June 13, 2008 7:16 AM

I was wondering if anyone in the NYC area knows of or wants to start a peaceful protest in NYC. As mentioned in a post above, we are not free, and I can't see celebrating July 4 in any better way than to demand the freedom our founding fathers gave us back!

Peace, Maired
