I'm the only person on earth to have ever met the mysterious and elusive fish guy in person. Until that day, no one had ever seen him before.
fish guy is a mysterious person who lives in a fantastic underwater cave below the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia. No one knows who he is or where he came from. They say he was left on earth as a child by a powerful and benevolent race of aquatic super-beings from another galaxy whose purpose it was to study mankind.
Legend has it that he grew up in this secret cave using ancient texts and the internet to teach himself English (hence his somewhat sketchy spelling abilities) and feeding himself daily by absorbing nutrients from a selection of glowing energy crystals that were left with him by the powerful and benevolent race of aquatic super-beings.
fish guy goes by many names. The French refer to him as "l'homme de poisson", and the Spanish call him "el hombre de piscar". Ancient Egyptian texts reveal the existence of a violent, on-going struggle between an "angry man" and a "fish man" that suggests the feud between Dale and fish guy dates back a lot further than originally thought:
Anyway, I found out one day that fish guy would be leaving his magical cave to travel to America for a top secret meeting between the world's leading scientists regarding the astounding new revelation that evolution may not actually be a scientific theory. Upon hearing that fish guy would be breaking his life-long existence of solitude for the first time, I jumped at the chance to go down and meet him and that is what you see depicted in my Award-Winning® film.

I worked with three different editors over a ten month period because I don't know how to use the fancy editing programs myself yet. All three used Apple's Final Cut Pro.
I took the first completed version to a second editor because there was something that needed fixing near the end that the first editor couldn't do and while looking at it with him, I realised that the whole thing sucked which was my fault because the first editor did exactly what I asked her to do. It was too long and the song that I chose for the first part was boring. I chose another, way more upbeat tune for the first part and gave the editor my revised notes to make it more fast-paced and interesting.
He wound up coming up with some great stuff on his own and I kept a lot of it but most of the stuff near the end needed to be scrapped for other reasons (too long to get into here) and the guy wouldn't do a bunch of other stuff I asked of him ( ?! ). Also, there were some very rough edits musically and visually that HAD to be fixed which he also wouldn't do so I re-edited the music myself and took the video and the re-done music track to a third guy and this time, I staying in the room the entire time to make sure it was all done correctly and we hammered out a semi-final product together in November. The next-to-final draft was done on January 24th where we were finally able to construct a key sequence near the end featuring Camilla's awesome smileys which I received prior permission to use from Camilla herself (thanks again, Camilla!) and tweak a bunch of stuff that wasn't quite there yet and then I brought it back in one last time on January 31st for some final tweaks (sound levels, colour adjustments, an effect, etc.).
