Do I need to use nutritional...

Note: For some reason the original version of this post did not display properly, so I've deleted it, and I'm reposting it here. (For those of you who are tracking all topics, I appreciate your patience with this duplication.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do I need to use nutritional supplements and alkalizing products? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The rationale for using nutritional supplements is based on several considerations, including the fact that conventional farming: -- contaminates the soil with toxic chemical residues, -- significantly depletes minerals and nutrients from the soil, and -- consequently produces foods with toxic residue and significantly reduced nutritional value. The related rationale for using alkalizing products is to: -- replenish our depleted physical reserves of minerals and nutrients, -- counteract the build-up of acids and toxic chemicals in our tissues, and -- facilitate the process of alkalizing and cleansing by rapidly neutralizing acidic build-up in the body. If you choose to use alkalizing supplements, there are a wide variety of products available that can be located on the web, based on searches with the following terms: ` alkalize ` alkaline food ` alkaline water ` alkaline greens ` alkalizing products Even without using alkalizing supplements, you can gradually begin the alkalizing process by: -- drinking more clean water (1 liter per 30 lbs. of body weight) -- eating fewer acidic and cooked foods: http://food.alkaline-health.com -- eating more raw, organic alkaline foods: http://foodash.alkaline-health.com -- increasing your intake of good, natural fats and exercising more slowly: http://readsb.alkaline-health.com ... and ... -- cleansing the body, naturally: http://curezone.com/cleanse/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please note: because this Care2 Alkaline Health forum is provided as a non-commercial, educational public service, I only share general information about: (1) the alkalizing process, and (2) Dr. Robert O. Young's theory of alkalarian health. I do not publicly endorse or recommend any specific products for personal use. (For more specific information about my own personal experience with the alkalizing process, please contact me directly, outside the Care2 Connect network.)

If anyone's doing this on their own, it'd be good to read up on what things mean, like, what our bodies are telling us when I have heartburn, for example, so I have an idea what I need. If we take the wrong thing it could worsen an existing ailment or create another problem. I need to know what causes it so I can get to the root of the problem. Notice I don't use the usual terminology, because according to law, even saying words like recommend implies someone's an MD, which, if they aren't, could cause legal trouble. I can't speak of symptoms, but I can talk of what my body does and show you that way. Instead of saying, "treatment" I say, this remedy may work for that problem." I'm not sure about some words, like "condition" It's basically a war on the alternative practitioner but we can still do our work. Each state has its own laws also. I feel this is an infringment of free speech but we can still practice legally if we know what terms to avoid. I'm working on a page about this on my site. Thank goodness our language has more than one word for the same thing in many cases. My nutritionist clued me in on this situation. So for example he can't say he'd recommend, cure, diagnose, or treat, among other terms, but he can say, "the readings indicate this will reverse the condition", or, "from what you told me, this product may help." The medical industry speaks of cures and symptoms, but not causes. Though they do talk of prevention, they aren't really interested, because they'll lose money. Sound cruel? It is, and it's a sad, harsh reality. Why do you think so many people are so ill? X-rays and other treatments they give aren't very effective. How many survivors of serious illness do you know? (In referring to their medicines, I can use their words.) They think alternative ways are quackery, there's even something called quackwatch online. THey feel threatened by us. Wellness is NOT their goal. I could share links to information, but the most important thing is, whatever I or anyone else says, see for yourself. Think about it, don't just believe me. Your doctor won't tell you, they're trained against natural remedies and those who offer it. For those who truly care about our wellbeng, they might be receptive, but are still uneducated in this field. I'm NOT an eaxpert either, just someone learning and passing the info along. Know your body, know what works, what doesn't, know your choices, what's available, find someone who can help you. Be careful of interactions between natural remedies and conventional medicines, and what to avoid, depending on your situation. If your heart is weak, even some natural things shouldn't be used. It's all about balance, choice, and staying well. Sincerely, Ariel
More About PH
This is how I remember what my nutritionist told me about ph: Split PH: the test takes samples of urine and saliva, and in some states they may take blood too but not in mine. Each sample is looked at for it's chemical makup, toxins, minerals, etc. If the ph is split, that means one is acidic and the other is alkaline. When mine was double alkaline that means it was in both samples. Our diet gives us nutrients from many sources and stores in our bodies. When we eat we digest the food and it goes to be cleansed of waste. Each body part does its thing in the process. When we eat right, there's enough energy reserves after all this happens. The equation used to figure out the body reserves are calculated from all the tests on the samples. When the energy level is low, the body is using more than it needs to do all this, because it's bogged down by undesirable chemicals, not enough water, and not enough of the right foods, including beverages. So, when the results come in, the readings indicate what we need to restore balance, increase energy, detox, and reverse problems. Of course our whole being is affected, and things like chocolate do affect our thoughts as well. Remember, they have chemicals in them too, and we are made of chemicals. I love chocolate and still have it occasionally. Notice how you feel after awile of binging on snack foods and other unhealthy things. Don't you feel tired? Do you get down? These things are all related, but your regular doctor won't tell you that. How sad. Learn these things for yourself, don't just take my word for it. Knowledge is power! Sincerely, Ariel
Nutrition and Healing

Our bodies have the capacity to heal if given the right things. Our minds are very powerful also. When we're in balance they work together. Learn about natural healing. If you truly want to be well, nature has all you need. We were given these things to help us. Most regular doctors won't tell you this, will discourage you, cry quackery, demand you use their stuff or else, and could be quite hostile. If you wanna continue seeing him or her, just do what you want as far as natural ways are concerned and consult with someone who understand interactions, then inform your doctor. In case of emergency they need to know so. I hope to stay away from regular doctors forever more, but I know it's not always possible for everyone, sadly. Wellness is in our best interest, if it's not in their's, it's time to find someone who truly cares for your wellbeing. Sincerely, Ariel
