Wholistic Nutrition & PH
Hi, I've been on a wholistic nutrition program for almost a year. The tests indicate which suppliments my body needs to balance, cleanse, and build. My reserve energy level was 29% when I started, it's now up to 67. I started it in Dec. 2003. Some problems I had which are improving significantly are: IBS, borderline anemina, and heartburn. The anemia is completely gone, the other things are just about gone. My PH level was split, half alkaline, half acidic. Now it's double alkaline. I have some info on file, possibly from the same Dr. you mentioned here, it's basically the same as what my nutritionist studied. Besides using the suppliments, I also have a diet to follow, a common sense list of foods and beverages with a balance of what I need. Some things to avoid are cow's milk, white bread, and processed foods, including sugar. There are many natural substitutes like honey and a variety of natural sugar. I cut way back on the snack food I love, especially chocolate, eat carob instead, but still can enjoy them sometimes. Life is boring if we deny ourselves an occasional splurging. I learned a little of how our bodies store, process and use what we put in, and which foods contribute to conditions such as heartburn. Combinations of lettuce and most fruit, for example affect acidity levels. Learning how food affects us, changing our attitude towards what, how, and why we eat,is also important. In whatever we do, everything is important, how we feel about ourselves, handle stress, and interact with the world around us. I wanted to share what I'm doing with you all, and hope it'll encourage you to find someone certified to help you find the best suppliments and diet for your situation. It takes awhile for changes to happen, but remember, we spend many years eating whatever we want, so our bodies have to get used to the new chemistry. The diet isn't a passing fad, but a lifestyle change. Embrace it. Enjoy old favorites in moderation, drink clean water, eat natural as much as possible, fresh or frozen. I'm living proof it works, regardless who's name is credited with it. Sincerely, Ariel
Thank you for the great feedback, Ariel!

Thank you, Ariel, for sharing your wonderful success story! I'm so glad to hear you've had such great results, and I agree with your wonderful feedback: ---------------------- You wrote: Learning how food affects us, changing our attitude towards what, how, and why we eat, is also important. ---------------------- In my experience, becoming more aware of how foods affect me has helped tremendously: ` in changing my attitude toward what/how/why I eat, and ` in making more intentional choices about my food intake. ---------------------- You wrote: In whatever we do, everything is important, how we feel about ourselves, handle stress, and interact with the world around us. ---------------------- Absolutely! How we feel and think and handle stress can also be acidifying -- or alkalizing! ---------------------- You wrote: I cut way back on the snack food I love, especially chocolate, eat carob instead, but still can enjoy them sometimes. Life is boring if we deny ourselves an occasional splurging. ---------------------- I agree; I'm also not a purist. However, eating acidic food is always reminds me of how much better I feel when I stay alkaline and, to that extent, the occasional splurge can even help me stay focused and on track in the long run. ---------------------- You wrote: I wanted to share what I'm doing with you all, and hope it'll encourage you to find someone certified to help you find the best suppliments and diet for your situation. Your advice and feedback is very encouraging, Ariel, and I hope it will provide inspiration to others who are considering the benefits of adopting a more alkalarian lifestyle. Your dedication and commitment are admirable. Also: -- If there's more info you could share about the program you've been on, I'd be interested to learn more. For instance, I'm not familiar with the references to a "split pH level" or a "double alkaline" reading..... -- If you have any information that would help others find nutritionists in their area who are using a similar wholistic nutritional approach, could you share the info here (or by email) since there might be others who would like to learn more, or pursue this further? With appreciation and interest, Metta

Yes I'd love to share more, and how to make the diet fun, so we don't get bored with it. When I get a chance I'll read up on exactly what those readings mean. Having a positive approach to it is what keeps me from quitting, knowing how far I've come, remembering all the damage I did, reminding myself what will happen if I overindulge. I'll write more soon. Sincerely, Ariel
