Hello all. Like a lot of others here I'm an eclectic Pagan, but with emphasis on Babylonian GrecoRoman & Celtic mythologies/cultures. I've been pretty much solitary, and mostly in the broom closet since '96/'97. I spend a lot of time reading and researching different avenues of magic/occult/mythology. Looking forward to some engaging discourse.

hi! i thought this first mesage would be easier to write... anyway, i'm a rookie sort of speak. im 29, and i've been quite a voyeur about wicca for a looooong time. never did anything about it until my 29th birthday (december)... now im trying to find my path.
i fix computers for a living ( =P ), luv to go to the top of mounts in the atlantic shore of my country and just sit there, feeling the moment.
im alone, so i believe this makes me a solitaire eclectic (this last part just because i have trouble with written-in-stone rules concerning spirituality).
my english is a little bit rusty so i appologise if i make up words or i "overlook" grammar.
I look forward to chatting with you Johnny M. I am new to the group as well. I have to really sit down and work on my page. I glad that you have joined. You definitely know your path! I am so impressed! I am still finding my way and I am "only" 39 !

Hello all! I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Johnny M. and I am a wiccan. I have been so for quite some time. I have not yet started practicing witchcraft except for divination (I started doing that before I was wiccan). I'm waiting to start practicing the craft when I can devote my full time and energy to it. I don't want to be a dabbler.
I am 16 years old and I live in Tennessee. If you want to know more about me....go to my page.
Believe me, I know how hard the holiday's can be. As the years go by and you loved ones pass on the holiday's are never the same. But I am gratful for change, family and friends that I do have. If you ever feel the need to chit chat, just reach out and send a message. Okay?

I've been part of this group for some time now, but have never really posted, although I read the discussions/postings regularly. I just wanted to let everyone know how much I appreciate their advice and general words of wisdom. I don't comment on a lot of things, but I have very few people (Wiccan or otherwise) that I can talk to, so knowing that I have contact with those like me makes this journey much less lonely. I guess I'm being a little sentimental with the holiday season, but I just wanted everyone to know that their words mean a lot to me...it's nice knowing that I have people I can turn to.

Hi All, Bright Blessings. I'm 52 now, a Bi medieval Gothic type, a Deist who reveres the Sacred Mother, Gaia. I've been a solitaire most of my life and now feel I need spiritual connection with other pagans to grow and learn. There are very few here where I live, and they are closeted.

...but a practicing Eclectic Pagan with Celtic roots for 40+ years. I've always tried to live by the tenet, "There is NO 'one true path' -- EVERY path is valid to someone." I moderate the group "Pennsylvania Pagans" here on Care2, and my wife an I co-moderate the Yahoo group "Wilkes-Barre Pagan and Proud". We're both registered with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to perform marriages through the Universal Life Church, and are both active with local Pagan activities, including some general education classes. Looking forward to making new friends here...

I just realized that I've been wandering in and out of here....and amking posts and I haven't introduced myself.
I've been actively practicing for more than 10 years now. My trad has Celtic roots but is pretty eclectic. I specialize in healing methods, and love teaching. My husband and I hosted a circle in Central Ca. for about 6 years....it was wonderful.
I posted a couple of things, and then I realized that I still need to introduce myself.
I've been an ecclectic pagan solitary practitioner for about 11-12 years now. Wow, has it been that long! How the years fly...
Anyway...I am totally in the broom closet with some people - my parents, most of my family, and some colleagues - and totally out of the broom closet with other people - my children, most of my friends and other colleagues.
I've been happily divorced since 2001. I have two children - a son age 13, and a daughter age 10. We also have 2 cats, 4 rats, 1 guinea pig, 1 dog, 3 fish, and several houseplants. I am also a big Nature person and love anything to do with Mother Earth.
Let's see...what else...
I like to read and write, and I'm a big movie buff, but I don't like TV that much. I like to study anthropology, history, natural sciences, spirituality, the occult, herbalism, holisitc health care, and nature. I like to take walks and go hiking, and/or just sit outdoors and enjoy the nature.
Thanks to whoever started this group at Care2. I'm looking forward to meeting new friends, sharing ideas, and learning more.
I am a solitary witch, and very much inside the broom closet.
Unfortunately, my job (teacher) does not permit me to be too open. I thought a group of like-minded people would be just the thing for me! Thank you all for being here!
PS: any good suggestions on how to wear a pentacle without anyone else know you are wearing one? I feel naked without having mine on all day. I used to wear it openly until a student screamed at the top of her lungs: "She worships the DEVIL!!!", to which I calmly replied that I most certainly did not, that what I was wearing was a symbol of the earth and of joy and that I didn't even THINK about the devil, much less worship him... but I don't want the scenes or the explainations....
I am a solitary student of wicca and huna, I am drawn toward celtic, hawaiian studies, I'm also a cat person, though I love all animals. Been studying for almost a year. The Goddess and God know what we need, and when we need it. Sometimes in unusual ways. I am married to a part inuit eskimo from alaska. We understand each other and we support each other spiritually. My oldest daughter is a wiccan, too.
Again mahalo for letting me be a part of this family, Blessed Be!
Just stopping by to say HELLO to all. It's so wonderful to have new friends join. HUGS and Blessings~~Joanne

Hello everyone, I just found this group and was thrilled! I'm a pagan, 10 years now and a practicing witch. I started as a Wiccan, but realized that my true path was as a pagan Goddess devotee. I'm particularly devoted to Hestia, goddess of hearth and home. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.
Blessed be to all. The name's Tahani. I've been a solitary Wiccan for a year now (time goes by oh so fast). This is my first post in this group (I think). Just wanted to drop by and say hello to all!

I'm new to this group but not to the Craft... I've been an eclectic witch for about 7 years now... I have one toe out of the broom closet, but it's heading towards a whole foot!!! Everyone must start somewhere...
Merry Meet~ I'm Wysperia- CelticPagan with wiccan influences, and very intuitive to the Fae and Nature. I've always been in tune with the Fae since I was a child. I'm still new to my Path and embrace all that I'm learning. I've been exposed to many Christian faiths: Catholic, Baptist, Wesleyan, Methodist, and Lutheran, but never felt "fulfilled or complete". I had a curiousity towards Paganism, but neglected to research it because it was considered too taboo. I didn't want to be shunned, ridiculed, or bashed. Well now that I'm older and wiser (*winks*), I can freely choose for ME! Yes, I'm in the broom closet, and I'm not ashamed of that either. I'm proud to claim that I AM PAGAN. However... it's my choice and I don't feel the need to justify it. It's private and intimate for me. Being in the broom-closet allows me to be free & open when I mediate or perform candle magik or frolic with the Faes. I don't have an "altar", but I do have my dedication of faes, herbs, candles, and incense. Having my "quiet times" allows me to focus on "wyspers" of the Fae and Nature. To focus on the positive energy and NOT encounter any negativity due to MY choice. Earth-loving and I hug trees too! I'm very content with my path. I've also noted that Pagans/Wiccans are the most open-minded and open-hearted people I've ever met. How can anyone NOT embrace that? I am eager to learn green/kitchen witchery. I love candles, incense and herbs. I look forward to getting to know ya'll and learning as well. Thanks for having me here! Be Enchanted~ Wysperia
Greetings, just join. Stumbled on this site via ediets and our forum. Some members are part of other groups here. I consider my self pagan even though I was raised strict Roman Catholic. I never understood catholism and always read alot about Native American and Naturals and I get a great inner peace when I read or learn more about beliefs. I am glad to be a part.
hello, just recentlly joined your group. i am so glad that i found you. i stood up two years ago and announced i was pagan.wow, the feedback was awful.but i am so much happier.plus returning to my native indian beliefs and lifestyle caused quite a stir. at least here with you all,i do not have to explain,as you already know why i chose to change.

Hi,I just stumbled along here... March 03, 2006 10:40 PM
And I love this place. I've been practicing since I was 17, almost 25 now, and though alot has changed, almost everything is the same, if that makes any sense. I'm only in the broom closet with the very religous very loved people in my life(grandma and grandpa,no sense in wreaking havoc on their last years). But the one thing I've learned is that it doesn't really matter who knows what as long as you know. Any way, I'm solitary now, more like a hermit if you must know, and really miss my old coven days. Now I live in a town that doesn't hold much hope of me finding one. Now for a few less vague things(my Social skills are rusty, please excuse me)I'm a mom of two,My daughteris old enough to have decided she is biblebelt christian, my son a baby I'm hoping will follow in my steps, yhough I love and encourage them both in whatever. My hubby is, well I'm really not sure, I don't think he is either, and my biggest dislike about my life is my location. Merry met, and merry part

I just saw this group while searching and I already love it. It's good to see a good group like this. I hope I can share some of my wisdom with all of you.
Hi everyone! Great to see such a strong pagan community on Care2! I am presently out of the broom closet, although not in a big active way. Hope I can glean and give insight on the topics at hand!
Merry Met, to all the new members. Since I started young myself (at 12), I am always glad to see youth of such a wise insight - your light and imagination bring a lot to our Majiks. Anybody can feel free to contact me if you like. (I am 20 now, and I live in Mendocino County, California)
Hello everyone, I am new to this group. I discovered it tonight and thought I would fit in nicely. I am Wiccan and have been practicing the craft for about 14 years. I live in a small town and have not chosen to come out of the broom closet (yet). I practice within a small coven. I am interested in sharing ideas for ritual work and spell craft. I would love to find a community of like minded persons. I am new to forums so I will probably take time to find my way around.
Just introducing myself! I am Chris, Feel drawn towards Paganism, guess I always have been. So decided time to try and connect with other like minded individuals! A long way to go and no doubt a lot still to learn! Finally decided to stop teetering on the brink and jump in!

Hello. I've been a member for a while, but this is my first post. I'm a (some what) solitary eclectic Wiccan. By the way, the some what, is towards the solitary part. I have been for three (?) years now. Before that, I spent all the previous years of my life trying to find the path that was right for me. I attended several Christian, Catholic, and even one Menonite churches, but didn't find what I was looking for until four years ago. I started researching Wicca and then, a year or so later, decided that it was the right path for me. So, anyway, this is me introducing myself and saying hello.

Anyway, I'm glad to connect!

*I just wanted to share this with everyone. It's a short poem I wrote in celebration of my journey into the world of Wicca. I'll go ahead and introduce myself, as well...can't remember if I did before. I'm Susan, I have been interested in Wicca since I was very young. I was forbidden to practice it, b/c I was raised by very devout Christians. Now, as an adult, I want to encourage my children to follow the path that their souls take them on (not their parents/society). They have a natural attraction to the Craft, just as I did. Now, we endeavor to grow as wiccans together as a family, so any advice any may have will be greatly appreciated!
Merry Meet to HellCat and all the new members! I am Lone Wolf, eclectic Pagan from Northern California. Feel free to email me anytime! apollia@yahoo
Blessings, ~*~Lone Wolf~*~
ps. if anyone gets a chance, I would love to have feedback on my website setup, so if you take a look please either sign the guestbook or email me. Thank you!
I'm new to care2 and new to the group. I've been practicing my craft for quite a few years now. I'm highly eclectic in my approach so love learning new things. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you.
Hello everyone new and not so new (didn't want to say old, didn't sound right)
Been a member for awhile now, haven't posted yet, so I figured I might as well say how do you do, while everyone else is as well.
I am Pagan, I consider myself ecclectic with Pictish tendencies (hehe). I am not Wiccan, but was raised Wiccan. My children are being raised in a general Pagan way of life, but are still too young to understand. My husbands laughs when I say to our 3 year old "look at the moon, isn't she beautiful" (I was raised Wiccan so I still look at the moon as feminine), and our 3 year old answers with "she can't be beautiful, she doesn't have a face". I know he is still young, but we're working on it.
I moved to northern Vermont last year, it is as bad as living in the bible belt compared to Connecticut. In CT, no need to be in the broom closet what-so-ever. Up here, forget about it! Into the closet I go, for the first time in my life. Very odd!!!!
Mels has to agree with me on that one. She knows what it's like up here.
Also I have a step-mother-in-law, that is extremely Christian, which I have NO PROBLEM with, but she keeps telling me I need to be saved.
The problem I do have is that she seems to think it is her duty to educate my children about religion. Now I am not a person that wants my children to grow up with the knowledge of only one path, but I do have a problem with her telling my children that what mommy tells them is wrong. Anyone agree with me? Or does anyone have a suggestion?
I have asked her to leave the spiritual guidence of my children up to me, I told her it was fine to read stories about Noah, or Moses or whatever she wants. That is ok with me, but I asked her not to belittle my beliefs, she thinks I am over reacting. Opinions are greatly appreciated!
hi im new to the group well im just beginning to learn about paganism and ive got parents who dont really agree with it so im hoping i can find some info here
Blessings to all as I make this introduction. I am a solitary witch (32 years old and mother to two cats/one dog) who focuses strictly on Goddess-worship (obviously with the understanding that God is equally important). I have been guided by Goddess who has introduced herself as Amma and She teaches me through my inner voice and heart how to live and how to be consciously aware of my errors in judgment and action.
I hope to find refuge and encourage in the fellowship of pagans who strive to find inner peace and true happiness too. Blessings Be!
Hi, I've been a member for a while but this is my first post. I'm a Pantheist that dabbles in magik. I respect anyone who thinks for themselves and lives a honest life in any faith. I'm here to learn and make interesting friends.

I am a newish member of the group - a 19 year old college student (Acting Major) who has been practicing paganism for about six years. I call myself an Animist - or an Animistic Witch. (Sort of generic brand pagan ;o) Yesterday I posted a query - a new thread I called, "Ponderings," just looking for some feedback from others on some history/origins type questions. I'd love it if anyone had a chance to glance it over and offer thoughts.
Merry Meet all! My name is Lone Wolf, I am new to the group but not to this path. I am 20 years old and have been fascinated with the old religions all my life (a practicing Eclectic Pagan for 8 years now). I have one little boy (Ian - 4 mo. old today) and am legally able to perform handfastings and other rites through the Universal Life Church. I also am putting together a meetup group in my area for Pagans - our first meetup in Mendocino county, CA is this Saturday (to celebrate Lughnassadh). It's nice to meet you, and I would love to hear from any of you that want to talk; just send a msg to apollia@yahoo.com
Hi.
I have been practicing/reading and trying to live a nice but realistic Eclectic Wiccan life since about 1994. I was a sophomore in highschool then and luckily Mom was the one who helped me pick up my first book in a little mom&pops style bookstore. It was Scott Cunninghams Guide to Solitary Wicca (that title is from memory, so if I am wrong but you know what I am talking about, then I figure it's "close enough for government work") Unfortunately Dad is uncomfortable, but knows that all is benign. Plus he feels bad about his own spirituality and believes he'd destined for hell because he used to drink & smoke and the body is your temple.... Other unfortunate thing is that mom will say "your wicca stuff' when it bothers someone who visits, I dunno if it refers to Dad's uncomfortableness in it. But here's the thing, since about 1996 or 8 Mom decided this was her path too. She is so far in the closet that she'd rather put heat on me as I am more free to talk, I am more out than she I think she'll ever will be. But I digress, this is an intro to me not a venting posts, I'll save that for later!!!! Over the years, I have found a special place in my heart for Ann (Amouiel) Moura and Kerr Cuhulain, they inspire me the most now-a-days.
I host a group at: http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/graphicmagic
Please take a look, If you or someone you know can benefit, please join or give your friend the e-address for them to join!
Merry Part and Bright Beautiful Blessings

I just want to say Thanks for having this site. Still looking around but looks really good. I live outside Chicago. I mostly stay to myself and family. Can you be in and out of the closet at the same time? If so that is me. Trying to put a name onto what I am is hard to say the least. I read books that I find, tarot, herbs, and I try to learn from nature that is around me.
My name is Freja Linea Valentine, I live in Denmark and I'm 17 years old.
I've been reading about wicca and paganism since I was about 12 years old. Haven't tried any spells yet though, but I hope that when the time comes, you guys will be there for me to help out if I need it . (:
If you want to know more, you can always look at my profile. And dont be shy to write me (:
I'm pagan and practice solitary. I live in the south on a small farm with my wolf dogs and horses. All my children are grown and I work full time to keep the hungrey mouths fed. I do miss having someone to practice with but having this group and the others help. I learn a lot for you.
Hello, I am neither Wiccan nor Pagan, yet both. I try to walk the Path of Beauty. I just love religious tolerance, don't you? I look forward to discussions.

I have a dog named Lady(after 'Lady and the Tramp'!)..she's eight years old now, getting very fat..she's a mix between a springer and a cocker spaniel..and I have five cats...all regular tabbys... Spooky, her son, Salem, who's a year old, and three adorable little babies, Billy, Kaia and Raven, who are three months old now..
Hi there. I'm new to the group and the craft, I've been doing a lot of reading up on Wicca and have yet to do any spells. I hope you all can help me out when I need it.

Bright blessings all.
I am an eclectic hedge witch with overtones of buddhism and gnosticism...wow that's way too much to describe..let's say I take wisdom where I find it. I practice Tarot, pendulum and Reiki, aromatherapy and herbalism...and am learning a little about astrology. SERIOUSLY environmental and radically political in my support of freedom of religion, speech and caring for the earth. I am a widow with one daughter and am out of the Broom Closet, but in a quiet way. Would love to see more pagans paving the way so we don't have to hide.
Glad to be here!

i love working with candles, incense, herbs, tarot cards, working with energy and just plain ole learning about spirtuality
i believe that we are the caregivers of the Earth and that it is in our job description to protect our Mother
new to forum, i live in the uk and follow a green/hedge witch pagan belief system. i keep dogs cats and chickens plus various other animlas and am into crafts etc.
Wanting to say hello and compliment you on what a great forum this is.
I was raised by a witch, my mother. Her 2 sisters and their mother were witches. I never really got into this to much until the last 3 or 4 months. I was into Voodoo. I'm now learn much about the similarities and differences. As well as the different religious views associated with each.
Thank you for having me here and for the wonderful teachings.
New to the group and still in the broom closet April 19, 2005 8:50 PM
Merry Meet Everyone! I'm new to this site and thought I should say hello, introduce myself. My name is Laura and I'm originally from New Jersey and about 2 1/2 yrs ago moved to Chicagoland with my husband. I'm homesick but being a trooper and making the best of it. I have 2 cats (Isabella - Maine Coon, Chloe - short haired grey mean little mutt of a cat but sooo cute). I've been practicing Paganism since 2002, but still feel like a newbie. I'd love to become part of a group on-line or in person, but not a coven. I guess I'm still in the broom closet just because I've moved to a new area and am not sure how my "information" would be received. Hopefully that little drawback will change in time. I'm interested in the healing arts, homeopathy, organic living, environmental issues and lifestyle, herbalism, pottery, photgraphy, poetry, crafts, spirituality, family, friends, good music books and movies, and much more....I still feel I need guidance in many aspects of Paganism and have much to learn about my other hobbies as well. I feel it's good to not say you "know everything there is to know about a subject"...I feel that limits you and your growth. I feel we are all growing and evolving and that we are constant students of LIFE. Now that I've rambled on incessently...I ask that you don't hold it against me too much, I'm just so excited! LOL! I look forward to chatting with everyone and getting to meet all of you. Brightest Blessings to you.
I just got here.. Thought I'd check this place out. It looks like a really great group. I'm far from being in the closet, but if that's where we're meeting.. I won't mind.
I'm originally from Massachusetts. I move to Houston 2 1/2 years ago. I bought a house in Katy just 5 mos ago. I just love Texas. I shoulda moved here long ago.!!
I have 3 cats, Spookie (black DSH s), Tanner (classic red Tabby n), and Royal (black Oriental n) I love them all.. Tanner and Roy are 2 weeks apart in age. Spookie will be 2 yrs old in May.
Hello to all of you! I am very glad to find this site! I am a new Wiccan, and I say that because just recently have I really been getting into it. I hope also that someday, I will be able to be called a witch as well. I have been questioning my faith for a long time and my loved one encouraged me to try Wicca and I have been delighted, as it fits me to a tee. Hello everyone I have just joined the group I felt so happy when I found that there was a wiccan/pagan group.
I've wiccan all my life by the way I'm 20 , I don't remember when I started I just remeber following pagan traditions since I was about 2, I guess my father taught me he died when I was 10.
Hi I'm Sheila, I'm 45, with 3 kids, & 2 grandkids. I live in Texas, in a small town called Seven Points. My oldies daughter & I have been studying Wicca for about a year now. We been using books to learn what we know, & we don't know anyone that is in wicca. So I'm so happly to find others to talk & learn from. Thank you for having me. Hope to get to know all of you.
About 3 years ago I have started to show interest in Wicca. Some of my friends know that I have been researching and starting to practice, but my family would kill me if they knew.
Anyway, I am wondering if any of you could give me some advice.
That's interesting, Altariel. This is the first I've heard of a non-Wiccan Witch. Can you tell me more of what you mean? Forgive me if you have explained it somewhere else (I haven't had a chance to read through all the posts yet).
Hi! I am not Wiccan at this point, and call myself Pagan. I recently began my "year and a day" in order to figure out if this is where I belong. I feel I do - for years I have been reading, studying, collecting brooms and various other tools of the craft, mainly because I find them aesthetically pleasing and comforting to have around. Many of my closest friends have called me Witch for years, which I have always opposed, as I don't believe in accepting the title before I have worked for it.
I will tell you this: the more I read, the more I learn, the more I open my eyes, the more I "feel", "know", that this is where I belong. I am on the path, and am feeling more and more comfortable in my own skin with each passing day.
Thank you for having a forum where I and others like me are welcome
Hey everyone! My name is Creek and I am new to the group as well but I cannot wait to get to know everyone! I am an ecclectic Witch and I live in Orange County Ny. I am just now starting to meet Witches in my area and so far I love them all dearly! I take a class once a week on Wicca and Witchcraft and I love it dearly as well. I first learned about Wicca when I was 12 or 13 and studied little by little on my own until now. I am currently and FINALLY learning from other witches and I have an AMAZING mentor! I hope to double my knowledge and get back to the community of Wicca really soon!
I am new to this group & wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I am 26 & Married. We have 2 cats that are our babies. No human babies yet. We live in the Catskill Mnts. of NY in the USA. I am an Eclectic Witch that leans very heavily on Kitchen Witchery. I love to grow my own herb garden & harvest for use all year. Other than Wortcunning (herbalism) I also study extensivley, Past lives, spirit comunication, "paranormal" (I really don't like that word it is VERY MUCH normal) ivestigations, dream interpertations, & the divination forms of Tarot & scrying the MOST. I will use other forms though as I feel the need arise. I am the HPS of The Coven of the Blue Moon. I teach a class on Wicca & Witccraft once a week.I also, am the organizer of the Sullivan & Orange County Area Witches Meet -up which is an informal group that is open to Witches from ANY path that meets once a month & chit chats with other witches, as sometimes it is hard to find most of us around here because most Witches keep in the broom closet or one foot out.LOLOLOL I am a homemaker but as you can see I do keep very very busy. I also enjoy making all natural bath & beauty products, & candles & "witchy" Crafts. & I also run an msn group on Witchcraft. That has vrious topics & happenings going on.
I always dislike thse get to know me things, I'm always worried I'm gonna come on to strong, or that I do nothing! LOL So ANYWAY...
I can't wait to get to know all of you better! Abviously there is alot of wonderful knowledge just waiting for me to absorb & I can't wait! Also If I can EVER help with ANYTHING, please just let me know. Thanks again for having me, I really am excited to be here!

Wow, I was just reading all the people who I thought "just" joined and was thinking Man, I joined at a good time when everyone else is, hehehe, I was way back in Septemeber when I noticed the date
Anyways.. My name is Cassie, I'm 20 and live in Virginia. I've been Wiccan for 6 years but am still wanting and needing to learn so much more!
Some people know some people don't, I don't run around on a broom telling everyone frantically, but I don't mind telling if they're asking.
I'm a very open person and if some one say "can I ask you a question?" I tell them only if they want an honest answer.
I look forward to learning all I can here. And it looks like I should.
I am sorry if my little cards I have sent out to my group on network messaging may be a bother to you.. I know you are very busy I just wanted to brighten your day.. but some dont like it so I will stop.
My name is Shawna and I am new to the group. I would like to welcome other new members as well. I am feeling so blessed lately with finding this C2C site, groups, causes and most of all friends filled with so much love *hearsmile* Brightest Blessings Always
Just starting in this whole thing and found this group - which sounds like it will really fit my interests - so I'm gonna do some digging around in the posts and familiarize myself with the place!!

Kathy & Tina, I think I've already welcomed you guys someplace earlier, but I didn't see it here, so I thought I'd go ahead and do it again . . . BTW, it's very nice to have you as my new Friends, as well!!
Hi everyone! My name is Vivian and I am a witch! Whew! There I said it! I have been a devoted student of the Wiccan way for 20 years now. There is always so much more to learn and I find you learn a lot from your fellow students! I hope to meet many new and interesting folks here!
Hello everyone, I'm Dawn, and I'm not a pagan. I am however interested in many paths and learning as much as I can. I do not judge, and am very open minded. I'm looking forward to meeting you all and learning more about Wicca and other branches of Paganism. you're all welcome to contact me if you'd like: d_wright27@hotmail.com (i use this for MSN as well)
Just wanted to introduce myself! It's a pleasure to see so many familiar faces now that iv'e been bouncing around the boards a bit. Iv'e been a wiccan for just over twenty years--I just did the math(shudder) LOL
Looking forward to exchanging ideas (and laughs too, given the opportunity). Both my best friend and I have been told we cackle, and it is nothing for someone to poke their head around the corner of my house and say "I heard you two cackling from the road and thought I'd day hi." On a clear winters night, with the leaves gone, I am convinced the whole west side of the mountain can here us LOL
Anyway, I beleive one of the ways we handle curiosity and questions just by being ourselves. We are walking representations of our beliefs.
Merry Meet! I'm new to the group and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Kathy, I live in Ashland, Ohio and have been interested in Wicca since attending a Wiccan wedding three years ago. I've done a lot of reading on the subject and want to be more active in practicing now that I have time to devote to it. I recognize some of your names from other, related groups I've joined. I'm looking forward to sharing with all of you in the vary near future. Blessed be.
Since my name does pop up on the boards here and there, I figure I might as well say hi so...HI!
I've been on and off the path for over 16 years. Decided about five years ago to give up pretenses and just be my happy little witchy self. (That happened in stages--figuring out how one set of beliefs worked with another until I was completely open.) I've definitely seen the biases and dealt with fears and ignorance but I've also been encouraged by the number of people who seem to just be curious. Asking questions is always the first step to learning so I just encourage them all I can.
I've enjoyed what I've seen on the boards so far and look forward to what lies ahead.
I know what you mean.I don't know or have heard anything of this.Fictional is the only thing of this but i went to a site to meet other wiccans and pagans in person and there was listed a group meeting for they really call themselves vampires and i was a little shocked because fictional literature about vampires i find repulsive.
I know people can be intrusive and sometimes leave you feeling exhausted or hurt but I'm a learning pagan and i have not come across anything that i have read.I know spiritual abuse can have devasting effects because i have experienced that in my life.I don't like to descibe it as spiritual abuse as it is not a spiritual act but done by people using that in a false way.Atariel if you could let me know i do appreciate if it is taken seriously or a joke.
Thank you. My house is spotless everything has its own place and i guess u could say that i am a neat freak. I just want everything in its own place . They get plenty to eat and the kids actually are very smart in school I have honor roll students.
Debbie, can you elaborate??? Do you mean vampire like the fictional Character Dracula, or do you mean something like Psychic Vampires who feed off of your emotions???
I need you to be more specific hun before I can answer.
Anjee, no one can take your children based on your religious beliefs. Of course if you are turned in CFC has the responsibility to come to your home to make sure your kids are clean, well fed, properly schooled, live in a clean environment, and are neither neglected or abused. Paganism is an umbrella name for earth based religions. Wicca is an earth based religion.
Though to answer your question, yes, Wicca is a recognized religion. President Clinton insured our rights to practice Paganism, and no, children cannot be removed from home based on the religion of the parent.
I have chosen this to be my lifelong path.I have a lot to learn. In my learning i have not come across vampires? There is a group meetup in my area.I am not going or judging but what is this vampire?I would appreciate any real information you can give me?
I have been reading books on Wicca, in the past few months I was raised babtist but for some reason I have been drawn to the books. I really dont have any friends to talk to about this because they all laugh at me and call me nuts. Some have gone as far to say that if they know that i start practicing witchcraft they will call the state on me so my kids will be taken away. Am i not right that paganism or wiccan is also a relegion, and that we have the right to practice or beleive in which relegion that we want to. If not someone please set me straight. I have found what i read very intersting and need some help here.
. . . and see some familiar faces, as well ~ Hi Red, Mels, Shawnya!!!
. . . And to our wonderful Hostess, Altariel!!!
. . . I've studied Wicca/Witchcraft for years now, but I'm just beginning to do some practicing . . . I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better and learning a lot & hopefully contributing whatever knowledge I currently have!
Merry Meet,
I'm relatively new to the group, and new to the broom closet as well. I have been pagan since I was 13, but have recently moved to a tiny, very conservative town in the deep south and feel like I can no longer be completely open about my beliefs.
I consider myself a Green witch...I work mostly with herbs and faery magic, as well as good old fashioned kitchen witchery. I am a self-emloyed WAHM, and have one beautiful, magical, 2 year old daughter.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Blessings,
Emmeline

Wow this is such a great group... and even though I'm considered young... I still am very interrested in such things! I live with my Christian father who would not like this though. And since I'm a minor... his word goes. Thank you for this group... it's about time I wasn't so stuffed in this closet! It's so cluttered in here! Thank you again ... I needed a breathe of air before I returned.
